“Flip or Flop” star Christina El Moussa knows real estate. Her Mediterranean-style home in Yorba Linda, CA, is already in contract after less than three weeks on the market. There’s still good news for slow movers: She’s accepting backup offers on the home, according to the Los Angeles Times.
As we recently reported, Christina and then-husband Tarek El Moussa bought the SoCal property in 2013 for $2 million. The list price for the 6,366-square-foot estate with five beds and 8.5 baths is just under $3 million. The potential profit margin looks pretty sweet, but considering the money the couple poured into renovations, she might fall short of breaking even.
After the purchase, the two home improvement experts spent a whopping $1.5 million in renovations, changing course on design partway in.
In fairness, the couple, who buy, renovate, and then sell homes on their HGTV home improvement show, probably weren’t expecting to sell the place so soon. Their divorce was finalized earlier this year, and both seemed intent on moving on from the family abode. Tarek made headlines with his new digs, a contemporary bachelor (and dad) pad for his now-single life. Christina will likely be looking for a new home of her very own.

Before Winter
Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses
Detaching the hose allows water to drain from the pipe instead of leaving it to freeze. Shut off the water supply to outside spigots if they have a separate shutoff valve. It only takes a single, hard, overnight freeze to burst either the spigot or the pipe connected to it.
Insulate water pipes in unheated areas
If you have pipes in an unheated area, like a garage or a crawl space, wrap the pipes with an insulating material, such as a foam tube, or heat tape. Hardware or building supply stores will have wrapping materials available. Make sure to not leave any gaps without insulation.
Seal gaps and cracks in doors and windows
Winter winds whistling through overlooked openings can quickly freeze exposed water pipes. Seal places where cold air gets in with caulking or spray foam. Be careful not to plug air vents that appliances need to function properly.
Find your main shut-off valve and label it
Know where to access and how to use your main water shut-off valve. You can usually find it in your basement or crawl space near your water meter. Turning off your water quickly will limit damage and control costs in case a frozen pipe bursts.

The Center for Auto Safety (CAS) is trying to convince federal safety regulators that General Motors should not be allowed to skip recalling millions of vehicles with defective Takata airbag inflators.
According to CAS, GM continues to reference a GMT900 investigation conducted by an outside company that allegedly found the airbag inflators will be safe for the next 30 years.
The problem? General Motors is the company that funded the research, leaving questions about the allegedly unbiased nature of the results.
The automaker has filed three petitions for inconsequentiality over the past three years with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) asking safety regulators to exempt the automaker from recalling these vehicles.

GM estimates the recalls will cost nearly $1 billion to replace Takata airbag inflators, causing safety advocates to claim the automaker is fine with forcing customers to drive dangerous vehicles solely to hold onto money.
The Center says GM's arguments for not recalling the vehicles don't make sense, especially when GM claims recalling the vehicles would make them less safe than they are with Takata airbags. In documents GM sent to federal safety regulators, the automaker says:
“A recall of GMT900 vehicles would disrupt original equipment developed and validated as part of a fully integrated safety system in millions of vehicles creating a risk to consumers with no corresponding safety benefit based on the findings of GM’s investigation.” – General Motors
General Motors is in effect arguing that vehicles are safer with equipment originally installed at the assembly plant compared to replacement equipment installed by GM dealers. CAS says to follow this logic one must also believe that all recalls performed by dealers create more safety concerns than before the recalls.
Additionally, NHTSA should immediately investigate GM's recall process if the automaker has no confidence in its dealerships to fix safety defects by using replacement parts.

The Center also has concerns about GM possibly concealing details the airbags could rapidly fail beyond a certain date while having no plan to correct the dangers by that date. If that's the case, CAS says GM is deceiving its customers into believing the vehicles are safer than they are.
CAS further claims the GM study seems to use the words "modest” and “large” as having the same meaning, a problem when you're talking about a modest or large chance of an airbag exploding.
And according to CAS, GM's conclusions conflict with the data that is provided and crucial data is allegedly left out of the findings of the investigation.
The Center also sees problems with the "predictive aging model" GM used to conclude the Takata airbags will be safe for the next 30 years. The automaker allegedly neglected in the predictive aging model to include the dangers of shock and vibration to the airbag inflators, leaving the 30-year claim questionable.
“In short, there are grave consequences if GMT900 vehicles are not recalled and their airbag systems not repaired. The GMT900 Investigation does not provide sufficient grounds for avoiding a recall and is so flawed that NHTSA should not consider it in its decision-making process."
The GMT900 investigation also allegedly ignores various driving environments that could impact the inflators over time and GM has offered no plans about how it will remedy the problems.

The ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ episode featuring Kangana Ranaut that was aired on September 2 went viral in no time. After all, the actress hit back at her lovers-turned-foes like Adhyayan Suman, Aditya Pancholi, Hrithik Roshan etc like never before. While a section of audience and media praised her for her fearlessness, there were many who accused her of raking up old issues to garner publicity for her film Simran, which released on September 15.
From the industry, not many came out to talk openly against her. But celebrities like Sona Mohapatra, Farah Khan etc did speak against her. And now, Meera Chopra too has made it clear that she doesn’t support Kangana Ranaut. She posted a tweet on September 14 that read, “#KanganaRanut I really love u as an actress but your personal life saga is getting too much now! High time u stop and let your movies talk!” Incidentally, Meera is the cousin sister of Priyanka Chopra, who has worked with Kangana Ranaut in the much loved 2008 film Fashion.
Meera Chopra is working in films since 2005 but she has mostly done movies down South. In Hindi, her first film was Gang Of Ghosts in 2014, co-starring Sharman Joshi, Parambrata Chatterjee, Mahie Gill, Anupam Kher and Asrani. It was the remake of the popular Bengali film Bhooter Bhabishyat. Sadly, it failed at the box office. Her next release was the 2016 horror flick 1920 London.

With one week left until the release of Gesaffelstein’s new album HYPERION, he has dropped one final single, “Blast Off” featuring Pharrell Williams.
“Blast Off” follows previously released tracks “Lost in the Fire” featuring The Weeknd and “Reset,” both of which were met with middling enthusiasm. The same will likely be said of the newest single, which features an almost tribal, hypnotic beat accompanied by ’80s synths and an unimpressive vocal performance from Pharrell.
We’ve heard Pharrell be a phenomenal vocalist, especially on “Get Lucky” with Daft Punk, but his talents seem wasted on this repetitive and uninspiring single. There’s a chance my opinion could change when I hear the whole album in its entirety and see how each track fits into each other, but as a single, this is wholly forgettable.
The rollout of Gesaffelstein’s new album has been somewhat lackluster. After news broke that he had signed with Columbia Records, home now of Swedish House Mafia and Daft Punk, fans were (rightly) concerned that he would be going a more pop route. As it stands, their fears have been substantiated.
