Pakistani actors Saba Qamar and Imran Abbas praise Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal, get trolled online
Earlier this year, in May to be specific, we saw the release of the Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium which fast became one of 2017’s sleeper hits. Also starring in the film was Pakistani actress Saba Qamar who received rave reviews for her performance in the film. Saba recently saw the latest Shah Rukh Khan flick Jab Harry Met Sejal that released last week. What’s interesting about this is the fact that Saba Qamar couldn’t stop herself from praising the film.
In fact, while Jab Harry Met Sejal has received a lukewarm response from the audiences, Saba Qamar decided to express her love and appreciation for the film on the social networking site Instagram with a rather well worded post. Sharing her views, Saba wrote, “I watched Jab Harry Met Sejal and I am in love with it, no matter what the reviews are. The characters, their emotions and the entire feel of the movie was so pure and close to reality, it makes your heart melt. SRK and Anushka Sharma were phenomenal and shared an amazing chemistry! There is beauty even in broken and incomplete souls. I didn’t just watch the movie, I lived it. Keep on making movies for people like me and keep surprising us with your amazing talent. Imtiaz Ali you’ve done an exceptional job. Just love your perceptions, the way you write, direct, and execute. I can watch this film over and over again. I still don’t think I have praised you enough, just want to say tussi la jawab ho! @imtiazaliofficial @iamsrk @anushkasharma @jabharry_metsejal @jabharrymetsejalthefilm”.
Though Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Imtiaz Ali will certainly be happy to receive support for his film from the Pakistani actress, Saba Qamar on the other hand seems to have attracted some untoward responses online. In fact, one user decided to comment saying, “So buttering Bollywood for roles … well done”, while another user posted, “Don’t over praise a movie just because you are too hungry of bollywood offers”. If that wasn’t all, yet another user couldn’t help but draw similarities between Jab Harry Met Sejal and a Pakistani film that had released earlier saying, “The movie is just a copy of BACHANA.. our Pakistani movie .. and bachana was more funnier and interesting ..”
Though there were a few negatives, joining Saba Qamar in the praise was yet another Pakistani artist, Imran Abbas who added, “Very true! Loving this film. Imtiaz Ali’s films are like paintings in motion. And art is not understandable to everyone yet it’s selfexplanatory to those who have the taste for it.”

Rishi Kapoor talks about the memorabilia and precious loss after the fire mishap at RK Studios
Just during the weekend, we had reported that a fire had broken down within the sets of RK Studios, founded by Raj Kapoor and located in Chembur, Mumbai. Although there wasn’t any loss of lives, the fire seems to have torn apart some memories and left the Kapoors bereaved over the loss of some precious memorabilia from some of their iconic films.
Talking about the same was Rishi Kapoor who recently expressed grief over how depressing it was to see the legacy of his father in flames. He hasn’t allowed Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor to visit the venue since it would hurt her the most and considering that she is already devastated just by hearing the news. On the other hand, the veteran actor finds all of it unbelievable claiming that he is still living in denial and wants all of this to be a bad dream. His son and Gen Y star Ranbir Kapoor who was in London is on his way back to the country after he heard about the incident.
RK Studios has been home to many precious memorabilia from some of the cult films like the mask used by Raj Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker, costumes worn by popular actresses like Nargis and even the recent Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who have worked in Kapoor films, jewellery worn by yesteryear actress Padmini etc. Rishi Kapoor who is trying to cope up with this, clarified that it is easier to cope up with the financial loss than the emotional one since the studio has been a part of his life for 63 years, since the time he shot for the song ‘Pyar Hua Iqraar Hua’ in Shree 420 when he was two.
Furthermore, the studio has been the house to many celebrations and occasions from the Kapoor household, which includes Holi and Ganpati festivities.
Maintaining this to be a loss for not just the Kapoors but the entire film fraternity, Rishi Kapoor reminisced about how his father started off this studio with four walls and one roof and how it has been withstanding the test of time. RK Studios has faced its share of tribulations wherein Raj Kapoor had to sell a portion of it owing to the loss he suffered from films yet his sons managed to retain the treasure within as well as the studio over the years in their own way.
Rishi Kapoor also revealed about how upset his brothers Randhir Kapoor and Rajeev Kapoor are as they continue to mourn the loss of their father’s biggest dream.

SCOOP: Amitabh Bachchan to play slum soccer founder Vijay Barse in Sairat director’s film
After playing, Bal Thackeray’s doppelganger in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar series it is time for the indefatigable Amitabh Bachchan to play yet another real-life character in the Sairat director Nagaraj Manjule’s new film. His first in Hindi. In the film which is yet to get a title, Big B plays Vijay Barse who more than a decade ago, established the Nagpur based NGO Slum Soccers which helps slum kids find their bearings through the game of football.
Though he is more than happy to speak about his adulation for Mr Bachchan, Nagraj Manjule is reluctant to talk about the project he will start shooting with the mega-star in October. “Let’s just say, it is based on a real-life character. But the way I’ve written the part and the film, it moves very far away from the original source.”
Nagaraj has been writing his new Bachchan film for a good two years. “And before that I was researching on the subject. I don’t mind spending time on my script. I spent a good 8 years on the script of Sairat. I wrote it with only Bachchan Saab in mind. I’ve been his fan from childhood. I grew up copying his clothes speech and mannerisms from Majboor and Deewaar. I’d go to school with my shirt tied like Bachchan Saab in Deewaar and get severely reprimanded by my teachers. But the punishment had no effect on me. I’d still do it.”
Nagaraj, a self-confessed Amitabh Bachchan bhakt, says when he met the Bachchan he was somehow able to control his adulation. “I don’t know how but I managed to remain calm restrained and dignified. I actually wanted to jump out of my seat and dance around him. But I narrated my script in an even tone. I am happy I did that. I didn’t want to come across as just a fan. Of course I am a fan for lifetime. And someday when I complete my film with him I’ll tell him how much effort it took me to not gush and rave when I met him for the first time.”
Nagaraj wants to focus on making a good film. “I don’t feel burdened by the responsibility of living up to Sairat. But yes, I want the audience to say I made a good film again. I don’t want people to say, “Yeh Nagarajne kya banaya hai?’

If there is one certainty about Bowling Green, Kentucky, it’s that you do not plan around the weather. What had been a hot, muggy and sunny day was quickly darkening and cooling. It was inevitable that the hoards of enthusiasts that were somehow still pouring into Beech Bend were going to get rinsed off with a nice, quick summer shower. Some saw the writing on the wall and tried to make a break for the hotels, but most hung around as one fat raindrop turned into a ten-minute deluge that soaked the whole place down. Drag racing was suspended. Autocrossing…not so much. In fact, watching the Magnuson Superchargers’ Camaro rip around the course in the middle of the pouring rain was one of the best things I’ve personally seen in a while.
Another neat thing about Power Tour is that you’ll meet up with notable names. We know that Rutledge Wood is on the Tour and that Finnegan came out to the Georgia stop. I found Dylan McCool and got to chat with the YouTuber for a minute or two before we caught up with some Aussies who had a streak of bad luck on the way into Bowling Green, striking a strap ratchet like you’d find on a semi truck’s flatbed trailer, which mauled one of the 19″ wheels on the Holden Utility they were driving around. And it wasn’t the only Aussie car with Aussie plates roaming, either…kudos to whoever brought the XC Ford along! It’s fine to take inspiration from other sources every once in a while — in fact, in a world where creating something wholly original is basically impossible and people are exposed to more media than they realize, making something similar to something else is pretty much inevitable. However, certain precautions have to be taken to make sure that inspiration doesn’t cross the line into straight up ripping a concept.
Apashe’s music video for “Majesty,” from his Requiem EP, is a drug-fueled journey following a main character and others riding horses in streetwear in the wilderness. Calvin Harris just released the music video for his collaboration with Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, “Giant.” And while the majority of the video is in an urban setting, the scenes depicting horses and wide open fields are very similar to Apashe’s video.

Calvin responded to the call out, linking to a VICE article on the Dublin teenage horse thugs, “Check the ref from 2014 and stop insulting legends.” It’s unclear if he’s referring to himself as a legend here or the Dublin horse thugs.
Regardless of any inspiration, the color schemes, camera angles/movement are all similar. Story is the same as mine (minus the humor), the nature scenery is identical AND different from the source you linked which has horses in towns. Not sure which legend you’re referring to

So so many times I will see many people making the same mistakes that I did when I first got on social media.
So many people view social media as a selfish thing hey check out my selfie, hey check out my business, hey check out what I had for breakfast, hey check out my brand new shoes hey check out my toothbrush and on and on and on!
Why do people value handwritten letters so much? Because it shows that you truly care about them and you are really trying to connect with them versus just trying to always sell them your stuff and it’s true they may need it, but you were going to end up working 20 times as hard if you do not show them that you care!! Of course watch my actions speak louder than my words, but this past week I have had a huge realization about life and that is is that it’s not about just you it’s about everyone it’s about showing your fellow neighbor that you truly have love for him or her. What sort of love am I talking about? I’m talking about the love I’m not always expecting payment for every single action you do for someone else. So many people and especially politicians say they want to make the world a better place. But do they really, are there actions really backing up their words? Granted we all are in perfect, but the moment that we take that fact and make an excuse with it instead of trying to improve upon ourselves that is the moment that we have lost touch with real Humanity!!! I grew up very religious and I struggle everyday to “want” to do what is right in God’s eyes and notice I said: “want”. I admitted my flaw of not trying my absolute best to serve him. Everyone lying is pointless and at the end of the day you will be lonely or worse yet with the exact same people as you helping you continue to brainwash yourself thinking that lying is okay, if you keep lying to each other and it usually starts with lying to yourself so much to the point to where you literally believe the lie and it’s hard to come back from it!!!
As there are different names for guitar equipment or you may say tools such as a pic or a plectrum there is also at least two names for online networking basically and that is social media and social networking. So as you notice the word social. Are we talking about your social security number? Well I hope not laugh out loud!!! Yes you did just see me actually spell that’s kind of what you’re supposed to do, but hey if you don’t know how to spell that’s okay I’m not judging you and I’ll be more than happy to help you with that!!! We are literally a product of a raising you could say as far back as Adam and Eve and you would be correct or even your own parents that you have actually met, but remember social media is for socializing and if you’re constantly doing the short-handed texts as I have been a little bit of a participant in then you are not truly connecting with each other and I’m slowly working on not participating. There are countless times that frustrates the heck out of me that people are so gosh darn lazy but they act like they don’t even want to talk with me with saying things like: “ty” does that mean I’m “too young” what in the world does it mean? No one truly knows unless you actually speak English!!! So it is my commitment to you that I will do my best to actually spell things out!!!

It’s time to check out another new Sonos product, this time it’s the all new Sonos Amp.
I must admit, I was quite confused as to what Sonos is trying to accomplish with this new product. Yes, it has more power than the Connect Amp and I know it’s aimed at custom installers (I am one), but what else does it offer and is there a wow factor for homeowners? I did an A-B comparison of the new Amp and the old Connect Amp to see if I could hear the differences. Let’s see if the new Amp is worth the $100 premium over the old Connect Amp.

Setup
Setup is easy, like any Sonos product; unbox it, connect all the wires, then open the Sonos app and follow the instructions. The unit is designed to work right out of the box with banana connectors, you just slide them into the slots. If you have bare wire or spades there are optional binding post adapters. I would have preferred however to just have five-way binding posts and not deal with extra parts.

I created a simple setup for the test using a pair of Bowers and Wilkins AM-1 outdoor speakers. I played both amps at full volume with the same playlist. I honestly couldn’t hear much difference in sound or even volume level. I will say the Amp sounds more effortless than the Connect Amp, but that’s about it. Distortion seemed lower as well, but again, the difference was small. Although there is only a $100 price gap, I feel this represents just a minor revision of the Connect Amp, not an upgrade or serious improvement in sound and volume. The Amp is more squarely aimed at the custom integration market with its rack mount and cooler running temperature, but that’s where the differences end.
Is it worth it?
Great question. For most homeowners, the Amp is not really worth the extra cost over the Connect Amp. I don’t recommend running out to replace all your Connect Amps with the new Amps. For people that need multiple zones of audio in a rack mounted setup though, the Amp is definitely the way to go. I don’t understand the need for HDMI ARC in a two-channel configuration since you’d give up the dialog speaker. I would miss that. Another interesting reason to use the Amp is it can handle two speakers per channel, for a total of four speakers driven. It can also drive speakers down to four ohms. Both of those features are more useful to a custom integrator and most homeowners won’t have to drive four speakers or drive a 4-ohm load. For custom integrators, the Amp is a good successor to the Connect Amp and as an integrator myself, I welcome the new Amp to Sonos’s lineup for large whole house audio projects.
What would make it better?
I think the odd part of the new Amp is the fact that it has ARC with only two channels, so there is no center channel. If the amp had three channels it could be a very useful unit with ARC+Alexa. You could pair it with a set of Play:1s to act as amps for the surround speakers. I just don’t like listening to TV and movies in stereo, the center channel is key for dialog reproduction and the 5.1 configuration is tried-and-true for even basic home theaters. The Amp can also turn a 5.1 signal into a 4.1 signal, creating a phantom center. This is an interesting concept, but I would rather have my Playbar in three-channel and two Play:1s as surrounds for a five-channel setup any day. Also, the power increase is nice, but I don’t think it’s enough. I’d really have liked to see something more like 200 watts of power to really let me crank it up loud.

I expect you’re now thinking, “But I don’t need that much power to drive in-ceiling speakers,” and that’s true, the Connect Amp does the job just fine with 125 watts. But Sonos is showing off the Amp as an amp to drive your front speakers in your main setup. 125 watts just doesn’t cut it for larger tower speakers and some bookshelf speakers. I also was disappointed that the amp can’t really play louder than a connect amp. The sound difference to me is only minor and most listeners would never know the difference between a Connect Amp and an Amp in the average system.
Conclusion
I would say this is in a step in the right direction for Sonos to meet the growing custom integration market, but I feel it’s a bit too little to late here. It finally hits the points installers have been asking for but doesn’t really break any new ground into what could have been an awesome and exciting product. Had we have seen more power, three channels, Alexa, and perhaps a phono stage, that would have been cool. The ability to add a turntable as a source into any Sonos system without a phono pre-amp would be awesome. Sure, it’s new and slightly better, but other Sonos products have really been pushing the boundaries of new and exciting, like the new Sonos Beam. As a custom integrator it leaves me feeling like I finally got what I asked for years ago, but as a homeowner the new Sonos Amp leaves me feeling just feeling “meh”.

Has Akshay Kumar signed a film with Abbas-Mustan? Well, that’s the rumor making rounds. As has turned out though, this is yet another false alarm as there is no truth to the proceedings.
Our well placed source confirms that no such development has occurred and this is clearly the case of all smoke without fire. He says, “Akshay has always maintained that when he signs a film, he was announce it himself. All these so-called news snippets stay on to be mere speculations till then.”
Akshay Kumar and Abbas-Mustan have done quite a few films together, starting from their first hit together, Khiladi, to Ajnabee and Aitraaz. A remote control for Sonos? Say it’s not so! Well iPort now has the iPort xPRESS and it is almost exactly what I had hoped for.
It came in a well-designed little box, with everything you need to get up and running, except for a USB wall charging adaptor. But, no big deal, as those are quite common in modern homes. The first thing it needs after unboxing is to charge for around three hours before you can get started. It can be used handheld, stuck to a fridge with a magnet, or mounted on a wall with or without a wall plate; all for $99.

Setup
Setup was quite easy, it reminded me of setting up a Sonos system with how straightforward the app was. You simply download the app, follow the simple directions with videos, and you will be up and running in minutes. After it’s connected you need to pair it with a single zone or group zone. This can only be changed from the app, not from the remote itself. You can also pick a favorite source. For example, if this remote is going in your bathroom you can assign your bathroom Pandora playlist to the favorite button, so it plays upon pressing it.
Functions
I really like how this unit is designed, it’s very easy to use with clear functions for each of the buttons. The app is also easy to use with only three tabs, making any adjustments very easy. The remote instantly reminded me of the Lutron Pico remote, another small and simple to use controller. The iPort has pause/play, skip, favorite, and volume buttons. None of the buttons will confuse anyone or cause you to run to find the manual, a great plus. There is a small LED window on the front that indicates things like battery level, Wi-Fi status and so on. I feel the design is excellent and it works as it should.
Where to use
The first place I thought to put is was the bathroom as I don’t want to bring my phone in there. Now, I can just hit a button and play music and adjust volume while taking a bath or shower. The kitchen would also be great for this remote, as I often play the same source from there. I only need play/pause and volume, and I don’t want to mess with a phone or tablet. Another good use is for commercial settings where you don’t need to change the source often, but you are constantly needing to adjust volume and play/pause. Although a cheap tablet with the Sonos controller app will do everything with Sonos, this remote presents a more sleek, fast, and simple option.

Battery life could be an issue for some, I was able to charge mine up and it kept going for weeks with no problem. However, it will need to be charged two or three times a year, so if you have a few of these remotes installed be aware of this. Also, it seems to disconnect from the network often, and I got this message a few times. These issues make it impractical to mount inside a decora plate. I suspect this will be fixed with a firmware update in the future. However, the unit does work while plugged in, so you could leave it plugged in all the time to fix the charging twice a year inconvenience.
Another thing to note; if you’re looking to replace smartphone control of Sonos, you could pick up an Amazon Alexa Echo Dot to use voice control for less than half the price of this remote. However, the remote doesn’t need a power source and can be wall mounted much more cleanly than Alexa. A third option is to pick up a cheap tablet, again pros and cons with this just like voice control. I feel they all have their strengths, but each is useful in its own right.
Conclusion
The iPort xPRESS Audio Keypad is a very well-designed remote with enough functions to get any room in the house working with Sonos. I wish the starting price were a bit lower to better compete with a cheap tablet or Alexa Echo Dot, but this remote presents a much sleeker solution to Sonos that I haven’t seen before. It will likely see a lot of use in bathrooms and kitchens as well as office and commercial settings. Would I install one in my home? Yes, I would!

Farhan Akhtar’s love for music is well known as the actor has crooned to various tracks in his earlier outings. While he will be seen in the role of aspiring Bhojpuri singer in Lucknow Central for the first time, we now hear that besides the usual prep, he has even learnt a new form of music for the film. The actor has learnt Cappella for the upcoming song ‘Ek Kabootar, Do Kabootar’.
A cappella is essentially a style of singing, solo or group, without any instrumental accompaniment. The idea of including this form of music came from daily life incidents. Talking about bringing this form of music in the film, director Ranjit Tiwari shared, “Sometimes when we are talking to someone, the person is tapping his foot. It is from here that we got the idea of giving these traits a musical bend. So, while writing the characters of the film, these traits naturally became a part of them”.
On the other hand, producer Nikkhil Advani also revealed insights on adopting the new style. He said, “Since the jail inmates aren’t competent with musical instruments, we decided to incorporate body percussion and cappella techniques. We got ace percussionist Taufiq Qureshi on board, he added a lot of layers to the song.” The makers also brought world famous body percussionist Bharat Verma on board to train the actors, including Farhan.
Lucknow Central is set against the backdrop of a jail that thrives on ambition, passion, friendship, and determination. Besides Farhan Akhtar, the film has an ensemble star cast that includes Diana Penty, Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy, Gippy Grewal, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq, Uday Tikekar, Sukh Kunwar to name a few. CONFIRMED: Sonam Kapoor to star in a film based on Anuja Chauhan’s novel Zoya Factor
After Neerja, Sonam Kapoor will be next seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Padman and in a cameo in Sanjay Dutt biopic. While both the projects will be releasing next year, Sonam Kapoor has signed another project already. The actress will be next seen in the big screen adaption of author Anuja Chauhan’s love story titled ‘Zoya Factor’.
On Thursday, Sonam Kapoor confirmed the news on her social media account about signing the film and wrote, “Super excited to work with amazing sister duo Aarti Shetty and Pooja Shetty with brilliant Abhishek Sharma on Anuja Chauhan’s Zoya factor.”
‘Zoya Factor’ is about a Rajput girl named Zoya Singh Solanki who works in an advertising agency. She meets the Indian Cricket Team through her job and ends up becoming a lucky charm for the team in the 2010 Cricket World Cup.
Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor has also started prepping for Veere Di Wedding which also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The film is scheduled to go on floors in September.
