I was recently doing a bit of research for the NYJTL, when I came across a local news story in a small New England town and the tale was so inspiring, I felt very strongly about sharing it with you.
Last year, young Gianluca Audia saw a video of Serbian star Novak Djokovic playing wheelchair tennis against Paralympic gold medalist Dylan Alcott. Once Djokovic got in the wheelchair, it was clear he was no match for Alcott.
Audia, a 13-year-old New Hampshire resident who has been playing tennis for five years, was inspired to help those with disabilities learn to play his favorite sport. So he started a local round-robin doubles tournament called Swing Into Spring to raise money for the nonprofit Buddy Up Tennis.
History of Giving Back
Audia is proof that giving back can start at a young age. Atjust seven years old, he painted and sold flower baskets so children could afford swimming lessons at his local aquatic center.
His belief that everyone, rich or poor, non-disabled or disabled, should be able to participate in sports inspired his latest project, Swing Into Spring.
Learning More Than Just Tennis
Swing Into Spring benefits Buddy Up Tennis, an Ohio-based charity that holds weekly tennis clinics for children and young adults with Down Syndrome. Beth Gibson, who has a son with Down Syndrome, started the nonprofit in 2008. It has since grown to 20 locations and helps more than 550 individuals stay fit, meet new people and learn important life skills.
Buddy Up Tennis is beneficial for parents of children with Down Syndrome, as well. Gibson has noted that the organization allows them to share stories and give advice to those who are going through similar experiences.
Huge Success
Swing Into Spring, which takes place on April 8, is already a massive success. As of March 25, it had raised nearly $5,000 in registration fees and donations. That includes a $1,000 matching donation from Positive Tracks, an organization that encourages kids to give back to their communities through sporting events.
River Valley Club, a local fitness center, is hosting the event and supplying courts and staff members. So one hundred percent of the tournament proceeds will go toward Buddy Up Tennis.
Continuing Partnership
This may just be the start of the relationship between Audia and Buddy Up Tennis. Gibson plans to attend Swing Into Spring, and she and Audia are discussing holding future Buddy Up clinics at River Valley Club.
Never Too Young
There are many youngsters like Audia who have given back to the less fortunate. One of the most famous is Alexandra Scott, who founded the childhood cancer charity Alex’s Lemonade Stand when she was just four years old.
There are countless other examples. Hannah Taylor started The Ladybug Foundation, a charity that benefits the homeless, when she was just eight years old. Janine Licare and Aislin Livingstone were only nine when they started Kids Save The Rainforest to preserve rainforests and protect the animals that live in them.
These kids prove that you can make a difference in your community even when you are still in grade school.

Main koi saandh hoon kya (you’ve woken me up thrice…am I a bull?)….In another sequence a character says he goes to pee with a rassi (thread) around his ears. He means the sacred thread, the Brahminical janao. And we saw no reason for something with such sanctity attached to it being referred to so facetiously.”
In addition 4 expletives including ‘haraami’ have been ordered out.
For those who thought getting past the CBFC would be a cakewalk for Toilet – Ek Prem Katha just because it’s got the Prime Minister’s tweet approval and tax exemption in BJP-run states, this is a good lesson in democratic censorship.

Sources say October is an intense love story portraying love in dark shades never seen before. According to sources, “It’s as intense as the love relationship in the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy without the sex, drugs and alcohol. Varun’s character will be shown to be so high on love, he won’t need any intoxication. And the girl is with Varun in every frame.”
Says Shoojit, “It’s a very important role and we’ve chosen the girl who we think is pitch-perfect for the part. Banita Sandhu is from the Wales. I chose her because I am very confident about her abilities. She is brilliant.”
While Shoojit is not willing to divulge details about the love story on-record it can be said without a shred of doubt that October would be a love story unlike any other seen in Hindi cinema. “The audience won’t be counting kisses in this one for sure,” says the smirking source.

What are Lingual braces?
Lingual braces work in much the same way as their traditional counterparts. However there’s one important cosmetic difference; the lack of the usual metal supports on the front of your teeth. In the past braces could only be fit in a certain position; right on the front of your teeth but due to developments in dental technology this is no longer the case. The key difference with Lingual Braces is that they can be placed on the rear of your teeth, hiding the majority of the metal parts. This means that they can realign your teeth just as effectively as a traditional brace but without the aesthetic worries.
How are Lingual Braces fit?
Firstly, your dentist will need you to press your teeth into a mould in order to take an impression of them. This mould is then sent off to a specialist laboratory where each bracket in your lingual brace is custom made to fit your teeth. In order to help the brackets remain in the correct shape they are usually set in wax and kept safely inside a plastic applicator. During your follow-up visit your dentist will transfer the brackets to the back of your teeth and cement them in place. Similarly it’s important to avoid hard foods and fizzy drinks and in some cases an excess of fruit juice can also cause damage your braces. It’s usual for your dentist to advise regular visits to the hygienist as it’s easier for food to become trapped in lingual braces, due to their position. I sometimes have to slow down my sewing as I’m quite prolific and my wardrobe is heaving. I love making different versions of the classic Chanel jacket which requires hours of hand sewing. After making a couple of ok jackets I decided to invest in an online class with Susan Khalje who many consider to be one of the best teachers for these garments. People travel from all over the world to attend her classes in Baltimore. There are so many ways to sew them and this version is very unstructured, more like a cardigan and very comfortable. The class comes with a special pattern made in collaboration with Julian Cristofoli. There are no instructions included with the pattern as it’s part of the class but you can buy it separately and if you have made a similar jacket in the past you won’t need any. The three piece sleeves are amazing, high and tight which is a feature of the original version. I made a toile/muslin then used it as the pattern. This can be used again and again and fits perfectly.
The main fabric is a raw silk boucle from Linton Tweeds with a silver thread running through it and the lining is silk satin.
The lining is quilted to the main fabric which is what makes the jacket so comfortable. As I completed this before I started this blog, I don’t have any construction photos but here is a link to a fantastic set of step by step photos for Vogue 8804 by Ann Rowley who UK readers would probably remember won the first series of The Great British Sewing Bee. There’s a lot of good advice at Couture et Tricot and she has made a few different styles. You can also find an online class at Craftsy.
Another feature of Chanel jackets are the very special trims, which are often very soft and not at all stiff as in a lot of the highstreet versions. On some of the jackets I’ve looked at (when I’m in Singapore I like to inspect high end clothing to see how they are constructed), I’ve noticed they aren’t too uniform looking. I couldn’t source one as I was in Singapore at the time so I made my own by unravelling some of the tweed and platting it with silk chiffon which I tore to get a frayed edge.
Sleeve detail
I didn’t want this jacket to be at all formal so I used hooks for closures and no buttons.
I would recommend trying to make your own iconic boucle jacket, it’s a very rewarding project and you can wear them dressed up or down. I wear this one with black jeans.
Vogue 8804 with special couture instructions by Claire Shaeffer is slightly more formal and structured as it has buttons so you need to face the front. The instructions are very detailed and I made a beautiful jacket using this which was very smart and classic.

If you are anything like me, Boulevard Park on the Bellingham waterfront is always on my list when I’m entertaining out of town guests, or exploring the beaches with my family, to walk the boardwalk on a blustery day with a hot beverage in hand, or to picnic on the grassy fields as the sun sets. Boulevard park is one of the most popular parks in Bellingham, attracting more than 1 million visitors each year. Despite the crowds, I am continually drawn to the beauty of the park and the myriad of activities it has to offer.
It’s also a place that showcases how Bellingham’s industrial past left a legacy of pollution hidden in plain sight, just meters away from the fields and hangout spots. That’s why RE Sources, along with agencies working to clean up the waterfront, took a group of community members on a tour near the park to learn about its past and shape its future, as they had an opportunity to give a public comment to the Department of Ecology on their cleanup strategy.
As the new Pollution Prevention Specialist with RE Sources, I now look at Boulevard Park through a different lens. Did you know the majority of the park used to be a lumber mill? It burned down in 1925, but left behind tar-coated pilings and layers of wood-derived fill.
Perhaps even lesser known is that a manufactured gas plant use to operate on the northern part of the park. The current park shelter, restrooms, and pocket beach all lie in the former footprint of this facility. During the late 1800s and early 1900s coal was brought to the gas plant and was heated up in containers called retorts. In the absence of air, the coal was broken down releasing gas that was captured, piped to holding tanks, and then delivered to customers to heat and light their homes. Burning coal to produce gas for homes and businesses left behind a variety of contaminants that remain in the soils and sediment, which are now a source of concern. Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and copper have been found, along with cyanide and toxic fossil fuel byproducts. All of these contaminants pose a significant health hazard if they come in direct contact with living organisms.
So last month, we brought together concerned community members and representatives from Ecology, WA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, the Port of Bellingham, and the City of Bellingham to explore the site’s history and the proposals to clean it up. While the exact cleanup methods aren’t set in stone, all of the proposals will dramatically improve the current conditions of the park for human and environmental health.
While Boulevard park has an interesting history, it is only one of 12 toxic cleanup sites that have been identified along Bellingham Bay’s waterfront, all containing toxic contaminants left over from Bellingham’s industrial past. They are all in different stages of the cleanup process, but when completed, the whole community will have reshaped the waterfront into a more livable and safe environment for humans while restoring critical habitat for our native organisms. In this article, I will bring you an answer to the old question “What is the difference between coffee and espresso?”, some of you may even think that they are just the same right? After all, they come from the coffee plant.
Well no, there is quite a difference and I will teach you all you need to know in basic terms. Coffee is like Earth, whereas the Espresso is a continent. So, basically, coffee is a parent, and espresso is one of it’s type.
Most of you are searching for the difference between a regular coffee and an espresso. I suggest you to read the complete article carefully, and you will have your answer in detail.
First, we will address the individual parts, coffee, and espresso, just to point out the main differences from the start.
What is Coffee?
This beloved beverage has quite a history, these coffee beans have traveled all the way around the world and that’s why we have so many alternatives now.
The fruit from the coffee plant is actually similar to a cherry, but what makes the greatness is inside the seed.
Once the fruit is harvested, the seed or bean is extracted and then roasted, and once you grind it, that’s what we need for a cup of coffee. There are dozens of species of coffee plants, and each of these plants will make a different coffee bean, but also the way it is processed will change the flavor of the final product, giving us hundreds if not thousands of different possibilities.
Coffee Brewing Methods
Now we have so many flavors, so many beans, and different types of grind, but there is still one variant we are not taking into account – the brewing method. Often the boiling, steeping and dripping method outputs regular coffee, and the pressure method gives, an espresso. Most of the people are confused here in regular coffee and espresso. So, the basic and major difference is the, Method.
Brewing coffee, no matter the method, has one constant principle and this is the principle of infusing or the process of using hot water to take flavors and smells away from a product. Infusions (Tea) use this method as we all know, and coffee is not an exception.
Boiling method
The original and oldest known method is well, boiling water in a pot with a fire and getting your ground coffee in there, in a few minutes coffee will be ready, easy right? Well yes, but this will bring nothing special and burning the coffee is quite easy if you use this method. But a few centuries back, without electricity or a simple way to heat up water (other than starting a fire), this was the easy way to go, and it was also quite practical if you had to travel.
But luckily, we have evolved from this rather primitive method, if you are reading this article, chances are you own some kind of coffee machine, or at least have seen countless of them in coffee shops, from electric modern machinery to the old but effective mechanical machines.
Steeping method
Now, we will meet the steeping method, which is still infusing but made easy. Imagine you took the pot from the method above, and you found a way to just separate the ground coffee from the liquid once your infusion was ready, well that is basically it.
If you know the French press you know what steeping is, mix hot water and ground coffee in the press, wait some time, based on how hot the water was, then use the press and well, press the ground coffee to the bottom (yes big surprise uh?). This squishes the ground coffee and gives you an amazing final flavor because of this.
Of course, you won’t be able to use a fine grind or will then have residues in the coffee because of the holes in the press.
Dripping method
This is perhaps the most common method used nowadays, because of all the electric coffee makers out there. You must have seen those coffee makers that need a coffee filter and you put the ground coffee on it? Well, that’s dripping, as the name suggests.
With electricity, the process of heating up water is no longer a problem, the new drip machines just need you to put the filter, the ground coffee and the water in the machine, and it will do the rest.
The principle behind this is simple, water goes into the ground coffee and starts soaking it, the water gets infused with the coffee, the filter stops the ground coffee from falling but keeps the liquid flowing, and there we go, you now have coffee, this method just needs a few time to fill a cup or the whole kettle.
Pressure method (Espresso)
This is where things get even better and we start addressing the title of this article directly. This method is the one used for espresso, so yes, espresso is coffee (in case you had any doubts), but what makes espresso unique and different from all the methods above is the amount of time it takes to be ready.
With all the previous methods you would have to wait a few minutes to get that cup of coffee, with the pressure method well, once the water is hot and ready, you will have the finished product in a few seconds.
What makes this method special is that the hot water goes into the fine ground coffee at a really high pressure with high temperature, and the infusion not only takes seconds, but it becomes quite powerful, that’s why espresso has that distinctive flavor. This brings us to the next question.
What is Espresso?
As mentioned above, espresso is coffee brewed in a unique way, and this unique way makes, well, unique coffee, espresso tends to have a more intense flavor, even tho it’s brewed in a shorter time.
So espresso can be described as intense coffee, brewed with pressure at a high temperature in a short time, but also the ground coffee has to be fine.
Know Crema
Another big characteristic of espresso is the crema, and the crema really talks about the coffee you are about to drink, erm sorry, espresso. The crema is the foam that forms on top of the liquid when you prepare an espresso, and the information it gives is about the age of the coffee used and the strength of the coffee.
For the age, the amount is to be observed, If the crema is abundant it means the coffee is fresh, while with less crema it means it’s a bit older. For the strength, the color is to be noticed, usually, the rule of thumb is, the darker the crema, the stronger the espresso.
Types of Espresso Shots
Espresso is often served in shots, and in this little section I will mention the main ones with the measures you can go here to find some really nice information on this with images to guide you:
Espresso Shot: The classic shot is usually 30 ml, this is a generic measure and what you should expect from a shot.
Doppio Shot: Also called a double, is just double the amount of the original shot, so two shots in a cup, 60 ml.
Ristretto: This would be the grown-up measure, although the quantity is less, 22ml, the liquid is a concentrated mix of coffee, so expect a lot of strength in this kind of shots.
Lungo: This is the relaxed measure and it is the one that gets closer to being brewed coffee, this is 60ml of less concentrated espresso, so expect a softer drink in these ones.
Macchiato: This is a doppio shot with a dot of foamed milk to soften it up and make it more creamy.
Café Noisette: This is similar to the Macchiato but contains more milk, again a Doppio shot but this time instead of just a dot of foamed milk, we will add 30ml of steamed milk, making it even more creamy and nicer.
Espresso Drinks
You may not like espresso by itself or with a little milk, so here I will show you some of the popular espresso-based drinks, some of which you will probably have heard of already.
Cappuccino: Classic drink, that great triple layered presentation just makes everyone fall in love, and it packs quite a punch with some creamy flavor as well, a doppio shot plus 60 ml of steamed milk with 60 ml of foamed milk on top.
Dry Cappuccino: Maybe you dislike the amount of milk in a regular cappuccino, so here you get a doppio plus 60ml of foamed milk, easy.
Americano: Another classic amongst coffee aficionados, the Americano is a doppio shot with 90ml of hot water to soften it up, it still packs the double shot punch.
Affogato: Just a delight that, surprisingly, not a lot of people have tried but I highly recommend, here you get a doppio with 90ml of vanilla ice cream, double rush on this one, more like a dessert in my opinion.
Breve: Creamy delight, with a doppio shot and 90ml of half and half, you will get an amazing creamy mix of greatness.
Mocha: Chocolate is just amazing with coffee, some blends even remind you of the flavor, this is a mix that was meant to be, doppio shot, 50ml of chocolate, 30ml of steamed milk.
Café con Hielo: Now with this, I can relate, if you live in a really hot place and having a hot coffee sometimes feels like a torture to your body, this is just amazing, who would have thought that coffee could be so refreshing, get enough ice in a cup, pour 50ml of espresso on top, voila.
Con Panna: Another delightful treat, more of a dessert, this contains a doppio shot and 90ml of whipped cream.
Flat White: This is great if you love the milky goodness of a coffee drink, a doppio shot and 120ml of steamed milk, it will have a soft taste and amazing texture.
Latte: Another classic, in my opinion, this is just a perfect presentation with a great flavor and texture and a milky taste, a doppio shot, 300ml of steamed milk, and the real skill comes here, 2ml of foamed milk, just to make that top perfect.
So to wrap this up, the difference between espresso and coffee is how you make it, or the brewing method, espresso is, as the name suggests, a pressure-made coffee, while brewed coffee is usually an infusion made over more time.
The Caffeine In Brief
There is a question with a rather simple answer, always going around the coffee world, especially on people starting to discover this drink’s amazing benefits: “Which contains more caffeine, brewed coffee or espresso?”.
The answer depends on where you approach the question from; if you take a shot of espresso and a cup of coffee the amount of liquid on each is quite different, so you could say, in this case, that the cup of coffee contains more caffeine since an average cup has around 240 ml of coffee, while an espresso shot has 30 ml.
If you approach it the other way tho, in volume, you will find that the espresso contains way more caffeine per milliliter. In the end, it all depends on the amount you drink, think of it as the espresso being a form a concentrated coffee in caffeine terms.
Equipment
Now in this section, I will mention some of the most common forms of equipment for each method, so you can start brewing coffee today.
How To Make Regular Coffee
For the Boiling method, well, use a stove and a pot, yes, that simple, when pouring out the coffee you may want to use a filter tho.
For the Steeping method, I recommend the classic French press, it’s easy to use and quite easy to clean, plus the process of pressing the coffee yourself is quite unique, just be sure to use it correctly.
For the Dripping method, you will find, and I mean it, thousands of different drip machines with a lot of different prices, it is possible to make a little system yourself and use this method, simply pouring boiling water on top of a filter with ground coffee that leads to a kettle or pot.
If you don’t like the hassle, just buy a regular electric coffee machine, and get some good ground coffee (or grind the beans yourself, which is also quite entertaining, you will need a coffee grinder for this tho).
How To Make Espresso Coffee
And for the pressure method, or to make espresso, there are some great espresso machines out there, even some that are over $10,000 USD, but this much is not needed, I personally use Nespresso because it is extremely easy to use for your home and it’s just convenient, plus I believe the quality of the outcome is quite nice.
If you like mechanical machines you can buy an AeroPress, which makes great coffee and is quite fun to use.
At the end of the day, whatever is more convenient for you, or whatever you like the better is the best, get good quality ground coffee, and most of the time you will be able to make good quality coffee with most of the machines out there.
And to Wrap it Up
So it’s been a long road now, right? but some may still be asking themselves “Okay, so, espresso is the same as coffee correct?” well, espresso is coffee yes, but it is unique to the different brewing methods, so we can say that it is just a different outcome from the same source, but don’t worry, you don’t have to like one better than the other, both brewed coffee and espresso are great, and they, in my personal opinion, will give you what’s needed depending on the situation.

Describing it as a fun song, Jigar of the Sachin-Jigar musician duo, revealed a few lines from the track that went on the lines of ‘A gun is like my girlfriend and my girlfriend as hot as a gun’.
Jigar was also impressed with Sidharth’s baritone and went on to add that it was a rare quality in actors today. On the other hand, lyricist of the song Vayu too was all praises for the actor calling him a professional rapper after the latter recorded the song at Shankar Mahadevan’s suburban studio in the city amidst the presence of music composers. Furthermore, Vayu also spoke about the song having Haryanvi elements which according to him was the director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s way of adding masala to the party number.

Everyone experiences it, and these days, it’s like we’re all living in one giant, steamy, anxiety-inducing, Instant Pot (no disrespect, Instant Pot – I am truly, madly and deeply in love with you).
No one’s immune, not the elderly, not millennials – not even preschoolers. I heard a mom call in to a radio show the other day asking a pediatrician why her 4 year-old can’t seem to focus on homework. I became the proverbial “crazy person in the car”, flailing my arms and yelling at the dashboard “has it occurred to you that a 4 year-old shouldn’t have homework”? If anyone had caught me on video and posted it to YouTube, I assure you, it would not have been my finest moment.
And that leads me to the subject of the Internet, home of viral videos and social media and blogs and so-called expert advice and actual expert advice and merch and so on. What does all of this have to with sex, you ask? Everything! Feeling pressure around how, when and why we have sex is nothing new, of course. Often times, the web can be the most incredible resource for something we humans want to engage in, learn about, get better at, watch other people do, etc. But its also created for many a sense of inadequacy, dysfunction and needless competition. In some cases, it can be confusing, especially when content is out-of-date, judgmental and inaccurate (let alone potentially damaging for children who have all-too-easy access for sites that may be inappropriate).
We all want to feel good, perform well, please our partners and be authentic in our sexual exploits whether they be solo, partnered, etc. But the pressure to conform, the pressure to compete, the pressure to keep up with bodies and attitudes and approaches that often don’t reflect our unique realities is, thanks to the Net, very real and very unsettling. I mean, do women really need to have reconstructive surgery because some self-annointed sex guru claims that vaginas of a certain age just don’t measure up? Are men only virile and attractive if they invest $15 on a special scrotum wash? Maybe, and if these things melt your butter, then by all means – have at it! But the internet marketing geniuses all-too-often have us believing that if we don’t do-this-workout-use-this-dating-app-buy-this-contraption-look-like-this-person-have-sex-this-many-times-per-week, we are weird, we aren’t sexy, we aren’t worthy and we sure as heck aren’t doing it right.
Don’t get me wrong – for many of us, reputable companies and providers can be lifesavers for those who can’t or don’t want to access in-person sex-related advice, products, services and medical care. But search with caution, and as with anything, vet your sources. When you take the time, you honor your own unique needs and preferences. We can all use to expand our sexual skills-set, but the process of exploration shouldn’t make you feel badly.
Sometimes turning something off to get turned on is just the ticket – the ticket to some pretty fabulous sex, on your very own terms.

The Grammys are on Ariana Grande‘s shit list…
The singer reportedly dropped out of the awards ceremony after she couldn’t come to an agreement with producers over which of her tracks to perform live. Last night, she tweeted out a series of profanities when Cardi B won Rap Album of the Year over Ariana’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
Sadly, Mac passed away last year. Not before releasing his fifth studio album Swimming, which came out in August. The album became an instant fan favorite, and later shot to number one on iTunes in the wake of his tragic death.
When the Rap Album of the Year winner was announced last night, Ariana took to Twitter to air out her frustrations — “trash,” “fuck,” “bullshit,” “literally bullshit,” she wrote.
However, she made it clear that this was in no way meant to diss Cardi B — “nothing to do w her. good for her. i promise. i’m sorry,” Ariana clarified. ““she’s not at all [trash] and that’s not what i meant and u know that.”
Cardi B took to Instagram to share her thanks, during which she gave a special shout out to Mac Miller and his family. She said, “I’m sharing this Grammy with you motherf**ker — rest in peace.”
Grande has since deleted all of her tweets, but you can read them below.

I had just given notice at my day job when United By Blue, a Philly-based eco-clothier, invited me to a preview of their new flagship store in Philly’s Old City neighborhood. With just three weeks left of financial security, I had no real plan for my next move, and the opportunity to see an ambitious 3,300-square-foot concept clothing store/cafe come alive during soft opening seemed a good place to find myself. They sold me on an adventure. They’d bus me from New York to Philly and put me up for the night. There would be drinks and food in the evening on Thursday, when they’d tell me all about their ocean conservation initiatives. Most tantalizing was the promise of a campfire-inspired breakfast on Friday morning.
I filled in the rest of the blanks. When I arrived, I would find strangers who would immediately seem like lifelong friends. We would swaddle each other in flannel and share our dreams of roaming a greener urban jungle while outfitted in sustainable clothing. After telling ghost stories over evening coffee, we’d mummify ourselves in sleeping bags and wake up the next morning for our “campfire-inspired breakfast.” There’d be a fire pit. An actual fire pit inside this store that would somehow not violate the fire code. Over locally sourced eggs and bacon, we’d make a plan to save the ocean and then we’d all do ayahuasca and throw up the fears that we brought into the store the previous evening. There was no way I was leaving this clothing store without certainty about my life’s path.
On the bus ride down, I received word that the “campfire-inspired breakfast” had been cancelled due to unexpected problems getting the kitchen ready. Ever optimistic in spite of the extinguishing of my Friday morning enlightenment, I put all my hopes on becoming one eco-savior entity with the other attendees of the Thursday event. I checked into my hotel, which I figured was a contingency for those not dedicated enough to the cause to get into those sleeping bags at the end of the night, and walked a few blocks over to the site where I would shed the skin of my previous life and emerge eco-conscious and lighter than air.
When I stepped inside to find my new friends, I discovered only polite strangers. They were warm, for sure, but not ready to bump chests with me and intertwine our hearts in a shared mission. The store had attractive displays of flannel shirts, tents, and industrial coolers that would survive the apocalypse. I also counted no fewer than six campfire-safe enamel coffee mugs sprinkled throughout with messages telling me to take a road trip and leave the world better. One told me “The Mountains Are Calling,” and, surrounded by reclaimed wood and many pairs of soft looking, but durable hemp socks, I believed the cup. I had to.
There were no psychedelics present, but there was whiskey, and maybe if I drank enough and ate enough of the pulled pork and catfish sliders going around, I’d get to where I wanted to be emotionally and spiritually. While I was trying to find myself, I found Lisa Brayda, the manager of the store’s coffee shop, the occasion for my dispatch from points north, located just feet away from the flannel. She made me a lovely shot of ReAnimator’s Keystone Blend from a Synesso Hydra, and told me about her hopes for the shop’s coffee program. She extolled the virtues of a well-executed FETCO drip coffee while expressing a desire to build a solid brew-by-cup offering. She was most excited about seeing people drink coffee at the communal table that sat directly in front of the coffee bar. Here was a coffee nerd who wanted to be accessible to any outdoorsperson who wandered over for that “campfire-inspired breakfast” I would never have.
I liked Lisa. She stood before me knowing what she wanted out of life and her career for the time being and didn’t need my imagined kumbaya soul awakening to reach her conclusions. She’d teach people how to serve coffee, foster a sense of community, and occasionally ring up a $300 Yeti cooler. Other team members from United By Blue put forth polished messaging about their commitment to picking up a pound of trash for every product sold across the nation. Their mission was clear, so how come mine wasn’t?
With some sliders, whiskey, and coffee swirling around my yet undiscovered spirit, I moved to go find an actual meal somewhere out in the world and was directed to pick up a swag bag on the way out. I checked the bag’s contents just outside and discovered those impossibly soft hemp socks and the mug that told me, “The Mountains Are Calling.” Was this mug telling me that my journey wasn’t over, but just beginning? I pulled out my brand new unsustainably produced iPhone X, held it up close to me, and said, “Hey, Siri, find me a fire pit.”

It’s been more than a month long since I’ve last posted about coffee as life has been giving surprises and thus taking some time. There have been lot of things going on that kept me a little away from me being a coffeeholic for a while. Within the same time, I’ve been hearing a lot about Nespresso Creatista Plus and so, thought of getting close with this beast to show you our side of assessment.
Creatista can be said as a new line of espresso makers by Nespresso (along with Breville), that are advanced and feature rich by their predecessors.
Why Creatista Plus
Nespresso in their old days was all about making machines for creating espresso’s and black coffee. When the brand saw demand for milk based drinks, it started combining the Aeroccino Plus external frother with it’s successful models like Inissia and Pixie. It did the work, but it was not up to mark if you are somewhat serious about perfect milk and latte art.
Creatista is for people who want hassle free Latte experience in a matter of few minutes without much fuzz all around.
The brand is already among the most popular ones in the coffee industry but the lack of perfect frothing was letting many customer choose another brand. Breville on the other hand has a focus on creating perfect espresso machines for baristas. Their team make regular visits to cafes to catch with the required improvements. The Smart Wand
Let’s first talk about it’s most impressive feature, the frothing wand. It’s really a smart one as it automatically froths the milk to 8 different textures with 11 temperature settings allowing more flexibility in drinks. Moreover, it’s not hot to touch and auto purges when finished.
Still, if you are an experienced barista, you might miss the independence of controlling like a manual espresso machine. Though, it saves much time of thinking, practicing and frothing. The focus here is most on the producing prefect textured milk that lavishes your cup of coffee, in an easy way.
We just have to put the jug of milk under the steam wand in the right position and press the button. After a few strange sounds, you will be amazed to see the steamed milk that is enough velvety textured to produce some great latte arts.

If you have previously used a Nespresso machine, you must have been surprised about the consistent brew quality and variety of flavors. The Latte Art
A great art at the top of the cup of latte almost impresses everyone. The advertisements connected with this machine give a glimpse that you can make these too if you buy this machine. Let’s be clear about that, latte art is a manual practice that can be done with normal espresso machines and it’s somehow the same here.
If you know about making tulips or leaf above a latte, than here you can make these too. About complex designs like phoenix and swans, you must learn and practice this art. But, it will be a little difficult with this machine as the most of the pods contain 14 grams of coffee grounds whereas an espresso machine takes about 30 grams of coffee grounds making the base rich for the latte art.

We have been using Botox to treat Vaginismus here at Maze for almost 10 years now. It has been a life changer for so many patients who have had difficulty getting started with dilation. Not many practices perform this procedure, so I would like to take this opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions.
Does the Botox procedure hurt? The procedure itself does not hurt. You are given IV anesthesia, and once you are asleep we start the procedure. First we use the dilators to stretch out the muscles in the vagina. Next, we put in a speculum which gives us good visualization of the vagina. We perform a pap if needed, and then inject the Botox into the muscles. We follow it up with injections of lidocaine (a numbing medicine). The procedure itself takes less than 15 minutes. When you wake up, you are pretty numb, and we start dilation right away. You can feel pretty sore for a few days following, but that doesn’t last for too long.
Do I have to dilate if I get the Botox procedure done? Yes! Those vaginal muscles are tight and they will still need to be stretched. The botox just prevents the muscle from re-spasming, so it makes dilation easier. But you still need to dilate.
Does the Botox procedure cause any scarring? The procedure does not cause any scarring. The Botox is injected into the muscle with very tiny needles, smaller than what is used to draw your blood, and the injection sites heal within a few days.
How long does Botox last? Will I need to repeat the procedure? The Botox lasts for up to 6 months, giving you plenty of time to work on dilating and stretching out those muscles. Once you have worked through all the dilators, you will have a maintenance dilation plan that will keep those muscles relaxed, so you won’t need a repeat procedure.
