It’s been more than a month long since I’ve last posted about coffee as life has been giving surprises and thus taking some time. There have been lot of things going on that kept me a little away from me being a coffeeholic for a while. Within the same time, I’ve been hearing a lot about Nespresso Creatista Plus and so, thought of getting close with this beast to show you our side of assessment.
Creatista can be said as a new line of espresso makers by Nespresso (along with Breville), that are advanced and feature rich by their predecessors.
Why Creatista Plus
Nespresso in their old days was all about making machines for creating espresso’s and black coffee. When the brand saw demand for milk based drinks, it started combining the Aeroccino Plus external frother with it’s successful models like Inissia and Pixie. It did the work, but it was not up to mark if you are somewhat serious about perfect milk and latte art.
Creatista is for people who want hassle free Latte experience in a matter of few minutes without much fuzz all around.
The brand is already among the most popular ones in the coffee industry but the lack of perfect frothing was letting many customer choose another brand. Breville on the other hand has a focus on creating perfect espresso machines for baristas. Their team make regular visits to cafes to catch with the required improvements. They recently launched a machine called Oracle which was equipped with one of the most advanced frothing wand for creating amazing latte arts.
Nespresso focused their attention on that machine and followed partnering with Breville to combine their pod brewing with the most advanced frothing wand. The result that came out was indeed a beautiful creation ever built by both that can be said as the most innovative product by Nespresso. It was therefore named, Creatista!

The Smart Wand
Let’s first talk about it’s most impressive feature, the frothing wand. It’s really a smart one as it automatically froths the milk to 8 different textures with 11 temperature settings allowing more flexibility in drinks. Moreover, it’s not hot to touch and auto purges when finished.
Still, if you are an experienced barista, you might miss the independence of controlling like a manual espresso machine. Though, it saves much time of thinking, practicing and frothing. The focus here is most on the producing prefect textured milk that lavishes your cup of coffee, in an easy way.
We just have to put the jug of milk under the steam wand in the right position and press the button. After a few strange sounds, you will be amazed to see the steamed milk that is enough velvety textured to produce some great latte arts.
The Nespresso Capsule System
If you have previously used a Nespresso machine, you must have been surprised about the consistent brew quality and variety of flavors. The same things are applicable with Creatista as it is compatible with all of those, along with many additional features. With just a single dial button, you can make cappuccino, latte, flat white, ristretto, lungo, espresso, latte macchiato and much more.
The Latte Art
A great art at the top of the cup of latte almost impresses everyone. The advertisements connected with this machine give a glimpse that you can make these too if you buy this machine. Let’s be clear about that, latte art is a manual practice that can be done with normal espresso machines and it’s somehow the same here.
If you know about making tulips or leaf above a latte, than here you can make these too. About complex designs like phoenix and swans, you must learn and practice this art. But, it will be a little difficult with this machine as the most of the pods contain 14 grams of coffee grounds whereas an espresso machine takes about 30 grams of coffee grounds making the base rich for the latte art.
So if you are seeking the machine purely for latte art, go for some manual espresso maker whereas for basic designs, Creatista is great to go as it offers much more comfort in coffee creation.
The Taste
Nespresso has never disappointed in terms of the taste of it’s cup of espressos. Due to it’s wide variety of flavors and strengths, almost every coffee fanatic person get’s his choice. Now with this amazing frothing technology of Creatista Plus, Nespresso is a step ahead of many of it’s competitors, especially those who complained about the Lattes.
The video below will easily demonstrate as how a cup of coffee is made and it will give you a glimpse of taste too with it’s rich extraction of espresso and crema.
Nespresso Creatista Plus Pods
People are often confused about what capsules to use with Creatista Series. The answer though is very simple – this machine uses the same pods as in OriginalLine machines. You can even use reusable pods as well as the alternates if not satisfied with the cost or taste of the actual pods by Nespresso.
Creatista Plus vs Creatista
There has been a lot of talk about the Nespresso Creatista vs Plus. The brand created two versions so as to make it more affordable for people who are unable to spare $500 for an espresso machine.
As the name suggests, the Plus version is the extended variant of the same Creatista. The built up quality of Plus variant is better and includes some additional features too. Below we are listing some of the major differences.
Creatista(Former) is made up of a mix of Steel and plastic material whereas, the Plus variant(latter) is complete stainless steel.
The former has a 10 second heat up time whereas the latter just heats up in 3 seconds
The former has just 3 texture settings for frothing whereas the latter has 8
The basic former has 3 different milk temperature settings whereas the Plus variant has 11
The basic weighs 9.8 pounds whereas the Pus weighs 10.9 pounds
So, the comparison simply states that the Plus variant has better features and offers more convenience. The price just differs by around $140, and so if you can afford the Plus variant, it will be a life long machine with extra features and durability.
Pros And Cons
Every machine on this earth has their own set of features that make them stand a part, but every thing has another face too. Let’s have a look at it’s pros and cons.
Pros
Auto milk frothing makes this machine unique
Easy coffee making with Nespresso capsule system
Assisted guidance on cleaning
Stainless steel body makes it durable
Can be said as one of the best and cheapest automatic espresso machine
Cons
No manual control over temperature settings as these are predetermined
Frothing is also fixed with preset settings and so an experienced barista might feel something missing
Pod brewing can be a hit or miss for those who haven’t experienced the Nespresso capsules earlier
The Verdict
Overall, the Creatista Plus is a great machine if you are seeking something that saves time and serve a descent cup of espresso or latte. Don’t expect the espresso made from a manual espresso machine as that has more flexibility over coffee strength, milk temperature and texture settings.
Creatista Plus is purely made for convenience coffee experience at home that save you from a lot of hassles of brewing with it’s capsule system and automatic wand and with a feasible price tag.

We tell ourselves stories in order to live. The princess is caged in the consulate. The man with the candy will lead the children into the sea. The naked woman on the ledge outside the sixteenth floor is a victim of accidie, or the naked woman is an exhibitionist, and it would be “interesting” to know which. We tell ourselves that it makes some difference wether the naked woman is about to commit a mortal sin or is about to register a political protest or is about to be, the Aristophanic view, snatched back to the human condition by a the fireman in priest’s clothing just visible in the window behind her, the one smiling at the telephoto lens. We look for the sermon in the suicide, for the social or the moral lesson in the murder of five. We interpret what we see, select the most workable of the multiple choices. We live entirely, especially if we are writers, by the imposition of a narrative line upon disparate images, by the “ideas” with which we have learned to freeze the shifting phantasmagoria which is our actual experience.
Or at least we do for a while.

WOW! Saif Ali Khan receives this pre-birthday gift from Kaalakaandi makers
Unleashing his quirky and unconventional side yet again in this dark comedy is Saif Ali Khan and we received a glimpse of the same in the recently released teaser of Kaalakaandi. The actor will turn a year older on August 16 and just two days before the same, the makers of this film are planning to release the trailer of the film.
As of now, Saif Ali Khan has taken off on a vacation with his family – wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and his son Taimur to Gstaad in Switzerland. However, the actor is expected to be back this weekend, right in time to attend the trailer launch of Kaalakaandi. It seems that director Akshat Verma and the rest of the film’s team thought that having this trailer launch before Saif’s special day will be a great pre-birthday gift for the actor.
The trailer launch, we hear, will have the entire ensemble cast of Kaalakaandi, which includes Vijay Raaz, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Shenaz Treasury, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Deepak Dobriyal. As for the film, it is slated to release on September 8.

We have been using Botox to treat Vaginismus here at Maze for almost 10 years now. It has been a life changer for so many patients who have had difficulty getting started with dilation. Not many practices perform this procedure, so I would like to take this opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions.
Does the Botox procedure hurt? The procedure itself does not hurt. You are given IV anesthesia, and once you are asleep we start the procedure. First we use the dilators to stretch out the muscles in the vagina. Next, we put in a speculum which gives us good visualization of the vagina. We perform a pap if needed, and then inject the Botox into the muscles. We follow it up with injections of lidocaine (a numbing medicine). The procedure itself takes less than 15 minutes. When you wake up, you are pretty numb, and we start dilation right away. You can feel pretty sore for a few days following, but that doesn’t last for too long.
Do I have to dilate if I get the Botox procedure done? Yes! Those vaginal muscles are tight and they will still need to be stretched. The botox just prevents the muscle from re-spasming, so it makes dilation easier. But you still need to dilate.
Does the Botox procedure cause any scarring? The procedure does not cause any scarring. The Botox is injected into the muscle with very tiny needles, smaller than what is used to draw your blood, and the injection sites heal within a few days.
How long does Botox last? Will I need to repeat the procedure? The Botox lasts for up to 6 months, giving you plenty of time to work on dilating and stretching out those muscles. Once you have worked through all the dilators, you will have a maintenance dilation plan that will keep those muscles relaxed, so you won’t need a repeat procedure.
Have more questions? Not sure if the procedure is right for you? Contact us to schedule a free phone consultation with one of our practitioners.

When Marshmello first revealed he had a collaboration coming with CHVRCHES, fans were understandably skeptical. However, after listening to their new song “Here With Me” a number of times this morning, it’s easy to see that the two work together fantastically.
“Here With Me” isn’t a particularly groundbreaking song for either artist, but its simplicity lets CHVRCHES lead singer Lauren Mayberry’s voice shine through brilliantly. Supported by a light guitar melody and some understated drums, the song remains catchy all the way through.
As with any song under three minutes (“Here With Me” clocking in at 2 minutes, 36 seconds), I wish it was a bit longer. Maybe another bridge or some vocal embellishment in one of the verses would have been nice, but it’s still a great track nonetheless.

Marshmello ft CHVRCHES – Here With Me [Lyrics]
[Verse 1]
Can I tell you something just between you and me?
When I hear your voice, I know I’m finally free
Every single word is perfect as it can be
And I need you here with me
When you lift me up, I know that I’ll never fall
I can speak to you by saying nothing at all
Every single time, I find it harder to breathe
‘Cause I need you here with me
[Chorus]
Every day
You’re saying the words that I want you to say
There’s a pain in my heart and it won’t go away
Now I know I’m falling in deep
‘Cause I need you here with me
Every day
You’re saying the words that I want you to say
There’s a pain in my heart and it won’t go away
Now I know I’m falling in deep
‘Cause I need you here with me
[Verse 2]
I think I see your face in every place that I go
I try to hide it, but I know that it’s gonna show
Every single night, I find it harder to sleep
‘Cause I need you here with me
[Chorus]
Everyday
You’re saying the words that I want you to say
There’s a pain in my heart and it won’t go away
Now I know I’m falling in deep
‘Cause I need you here with me
Every day
You’re saying the words that I want you to say
There’s a pain in my heart and it won’t go away
Now I know I’m falling in deep
‘Cause I need you here with me
[Outro]
Can I tell you something just between you and me?
When I hear your voice, I know I’m finally free
Every single word is perfect as it can be
‘Cause I need you here with me

Oral surgeons perform a wide range of procedures. Anything involving the face, jaw or the maxillofacial area can be done by an oral surgeon. There a few treatments that they perform that are more common than others though. Let’s take a look at some common procedures performed by an oral surgeon in Westminster CO.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extractions are by far the most common procedure performed by an oral surgeon. The most common form of a tooth extraction is the removal of wisdom teeth. While dentists can pull teeth as well, due to the complicated nature of the process, many times they will refer patients to oral surgeons. With the exception of wisdom teeth, a tooth extraction is typically a last ditch effort when there is no chance of saving a tooth anymore.
Dental Implants
If a tooth has to be removed, the most popular choice for a tooth replacement is dental implants. These are popular among both patients and oral surgeons because they are the closest thing to real teeth. Not only are they the longest lasting option, they are also the option that your jaw and body is most accepting of. In some cases, an oral surgeon will have to perform a bone graft before inserting the implant. This is done in order to make the jaw strong enough to accept the implant.

By Mark Nelson President Nelson Water:
With more than 30 years’ experience in the residential and commercial water treatment space, Mark Nelson is a Class 1 Drinking-Water Operator and a CBWA (Canadian Bottled Water Association) Certified Plant Operator. As founder and president of Nelson Water in Ottawa, Mark focuses on dealing with challenging water treatment system designs for problem water. He also heads the largest water bottling plant in the city of Ottawa with a delivery network throughout the Valley.
Water is all around us, but this doesn’t mean that many of us fully understand it. Whether you’re considering water treatment options or simply want to have confidence in your water quality, you’re likely to have questions. So, here we’ll answer some frequently asked water questions.
Are There Bugs In Water?
Raw water can contain a number of microorganisms. While some of these are healthy, there are some that are not so healthy. Bacteria, viruses and protozoan parasites are some of the common disease causing organisms found in water supplies. Waterborne pathogenic bacteria include Salmonella, Legionella, Helicobacter pylori, Escherichia coli, and Vibrio cholerae. Waterborne viruses include Hepatitis A, while common protozoan parasites include Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
What Contaminants are Common in Drinking Water From Private Wells or Dugouts?
If your drinking water is sourced from a private supply, such as a well or dugout, you will be responsible for ensuring that your water is safe. Prairie water is generally from shallow water sources that provide an ideal environment for algae growth, due to the nutrient rich water. Campylobacter is a common type of bacteria in Prairie water. There are over 200 reported cases of campylobacteriosis each year in Saskatchewan, while Giardia causes over 100 cases of Beaver Fever each year in the area.
In a number of Agriculture Canada cited studies, 30 to 35 percent of the wells in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Alberta exceed the safe bacteria levels, with 92 percent of the private wells in Alberta and 99 percent in Saskatchewan exceeding the Canadian guidelines for health and non health parameters. This includes issues such as hardness, manganese, sodium, sulfate, iron, colour and dissolved organic carbon. Additionally, water from shallow sources can contain high levels of pesticides from runoff, arsenic, turbidity, and cyanobacteria. These contaminants are not only unhealthy, but make the water difficult to treat without large quantities of disinfectant such as chlorine.
How Often Should Well or Dugout Drinking Water Be Tested?
A basic water test package for potability will assess the coliform bacteria, pH, nitrates, sodium, fluoride, iron, sulphate and manganese levels. The testing will also measure the total dissolved solids and water hardness. If there is a possibility of additional contamination, the testing could include selenium, arsenic, pesticides or uranium.
It is recommended that domestic water supplies are tested at least once each year, with surface water, and shallow wells tested more frequently. You should test your surface water sources once in summer and again in winter at a minimum due to the seasonal variation. Water should be tested both at the tap and the source to ensure consistent water quality and to confirm that your treatment system is offering adequate protection.
Who is Responsible for the Provision of Safe Drinking Water?
Although there are legislative water standards in Europe and the United States, there are only guidelines in place in Canada. These have been negotiated between provincial and federal agencies, which produced less stringent guidelines compared to Europe and America.
Here each territorial and provincial government has the responsibility for drinking water provisions. The only exception is national parks, military bases, and native reservations, which are under federal jurisdiction. Since Canada has delegated the water responsibility to provincial agencies, there are some, such as those with low populations that have difficulties in dealing with complicated water problems and issues. For example, the recommendation for TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) in Canada is a maximum of 500 milligrams per litre, but the Saskatchewan recommendation is 1,500 milligrams due to the naturally high TDS levels in the area.
What Treatment Methods Are Employed for Safe Drinking Water?
Conventional water treatment methods include sedimentation, coagulation, filtration and finally disinfection. Sedimentation and coagulation are used to remove the larger particles from the water, while filtration can remove smaller substances include dissolved material and viruses. Generally, filtration will not be sufficient for eliminating all bacteria and viruses, so disinfection with chlorine is a final step in the treatment process. There are other disinfection methods such as UV that are becoming more popular.
What Home Water Treatment Methods Are Available?
Where drinking water standards are stringently followed, most people do not need water treatment, but as an extra precaution, or where the treatment facilities may not adhere to proper standards, additional treatment is required. Fortunately, there are a number of treatment options to remove many types of contaminants.
To determine the most appropriate water treatment system, you will need to test your raw water. This will allow you to assess what contaminants need to be removed and base your treatment method on the results.
The most efficient water treatment system is Reverse Osmosis that can remove up to 99.9% of waterborne contaminants. These systems use pre-filters that need to be changed regularly, but are otherwise almost maintenance free. Unfortunately, the semi permeable membrane of an RO system can easily become clogged when concentrations of TDS are particularly high, so you may need a system with additional filters.
Should I Get a Water Softener for Hard Water?
Even if your water is treated at a sophisticated facility, it may still have a high mineral content. This is referred to as Hard Water, and while it is not considered dangerous, it can cause problems around your home. Hard water can allow mineral deposits to accumulate as scale inside your pipes, fixtures, and water using appliances. It can also cause laundry and bathing problems as the minerals interfere with the lathering of soaps, detergents, and shampoos. For this reason, water softeners are a popular method of domestic water treatment. Water softeners use ion exchange to remove the magnesium, calcium, and iron and replace it with sodium or potassium ions. This will immediately improve your water quality and help to prolong the lifespan of your appliances.
If you have concerns about your water quality, you should speak to a water treatment professional. An experienced technician can not only test your water to determine the contaminant levels, but also guide you through the treatment options that are best suited to the characteristics of your water supply.

Rishi Kapoor has landed in a soup several times thanks to his posts on the microblogging website Twitter. But he usually clarifies his stand later on, on Twitter itself or through interviews. You think you know the Escort business? Many of you wrongly think that it is an easy job, where money is earned quickly, effortlessly and that all women who sell their bodies choose this path because they have no other alternative.
Well, let me tell you you’re wrong!
Over the years and experiences, Escorts have learned how to deal about sexuality, psychology and social relationships. Their work is a mix of customer service and fantasizing. A large majority do it by choice and love and assume it. Being an Escort also provides them with a stable financial situation and contributes to the financing of projects (or lifestyles) that were not feasible until then.
To better inform the public about sex work, here are the 5 biggest preconceived ideas which surround this profession :
1- Sex work is easy! Prostitutes are lazy…
For many reasons I can say that this is not an easy job. Escorts work between 12 and 14 hours a day (sometimes even longer). They often spend an enormous amount of time finding a decent and appropriate place to receive their clients in privacy. Some are very active on social media and manage several accounts, answer their emails and text messages, publish and manage their advertising on different specialized sites, plan and prepare appointments with their customers, some even write articles… When an appointment is confirmed, they need on average between 30 minutes and 1 hour to get ready before their client arrives. Many of them spend a lot of time and money maintaining their body shape. In their daily work, the “girls of joy” do both physical and emotional work. They know how to listen to their clients’ confessions and make sure to please them, and have them get what they want.
2- Escorts spread diseases and infections
It is precisely because their body is their working tool that they cannot afford to put it in danger. Escorts pay twice as much attention to their health as women on average. A decent escort only offers safe intercourse. She also visits the gynecologist 2 to 4 times a year and regularly carries out screening tests. Her health is of paramount importance: if she is not in good shape, she cannot pay the bills and provide for herself and her family. Furthermore, neglecting her health would put her clients and reputation at risk. It would cost her her job.
3- Only weird people, losers and desperate men will see the Escorts
You would be surprised by the diversity of people who sees Escorts. Middle-aged couples who want to stimulate their love and sex lives, young soldiers who like to relax in good company during their service, lawyers, doctors, disabled men who want special relationships with someone… The work of Escort girls sometimes has a more therapeutic component but everything is always done with respect for the other. Escorts’ customers treat them with respect. The ladies are gentle with the gentlemen, just as much as the guests are with them.
4- Sex workers hate their jobs
At TheVelvetRooms, women have chosen to do this job because they want to be financially independent. Their work is very personal and intimate and they are very much involved in what they do. They see vulnerable people when they are naked and express their deepest desires. The relationships they have with their clients are sincere and they are happy when they relax, are relieved and come out of the rendezvous radiant and smiling !
5- Escorts are broken people
We often read that prostitutes have maintained electrical relations with their fathers, that their parents should not be proud of them, that they have not been to school… Certainly, there are women with little education, alcoholics and drug addicts who prostitute themselves. But by saying that, we are dehumanized the profession, it reinforces the stigma.
On the other hand, what is said very little in the media is that more and more Escort Girls are psychologically very stable, have done long studies and speak several languages. Some are still students, others work in responsible positions and are truly intellectually brilliant. They willingly choose to be a Service Provider to improve their financial situation and/or simply, for the pleasure of pleasing…

I am a proud Ex- Jehovah’s Witness, because the only true God is a God of love and he promises you everlasting life for choosing the right way!!!
I love my old family and friends, but that’s just what they are “old Family and friends”. I love everyone, but the teachings of Jesus contradict with the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
Didn’t Jesus Christ say that Satan would always try and make himself out to be an angel of light?
I could go on and on ever since I have been free to have my own thoughts instead of being indoctrinated by the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Between 2013 and 2016 the choice was simple either suicide or leave the organization. I do not think suicide is ever the answer I’m just telling you how it was…..
With the help of the word of God and seeing his Holy Spirit or Active Force operating in people on the Earth today by their actions I can clearly identify his people they come from many different walks of life and the more you learn the true love of God the more surprised you will be who they are.
1 John 4:8 says that: God is love, so whoever loves me for serving God and not an organization are my brothers and sisters. Even the Bible says you cannot slave for two masters so you either choose God or you choose the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Here’s even a link to the Watchtowers own website stating that very fact:

New International Version
John 6:68
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
So please take a look at this and I promise you it won’t bite. Information is just that it’s information. Knowledge is power as long as you act on it through study and prayer as well as God gives you discernment and Holy Spirit to those who ask for it. (Hosea 4:6) God says; “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.” only set people free from bondage but also to transform peoples lives from the inside out.
Jesus was very clear that the good news of the kingdom would not be good news to all. The Jehovah’s Witnesses taught me that. Jesus also said: New International Version
John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
How is it loving to shun so called family members or friends for asking sincere questions about beliefs? The Bible teach book encourages students of the Bible to ask questions and to get the answers to their questions.

Jesus Causes Division
49 “I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning! 50 I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. 51 Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! 52 From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against.
53 ‘Father will be divided against son
and son against father;
mother against daughter
and daughter against mother;
and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law
and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.’[a]”
54 Then Jesus turned to the crowd and said, “When you see clouds beginning to form in the west, you say, ‘Here comes a shower.’ And you are right. 55 When the south wind blows, you say, ‘Today will be a scorcher.’ And it is. 56 You fools! You know how to interpret the weather signs of the earth and sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the present times.
Now I am on a mission to put 20 million smiles on peoples faces currently and after I have accomplish that mission there will be more smiles that I will put on peoples faces!!!

As for other films, post the Jab Harry Met Sejal debacle, Anushka Sharma is now focusing on her production Pari which also features her in the lead role. She will also be seen in Aanand L. Women in this Commonwealth city are making money.
Arlington, Va., is the city where women are most successful, according to a recent analysis from personal finance site SmartAsset that found women there were the highest paid and comprised nearly four out of 10 (38.6%) business owners. The D.C. metro area made a particularly strong showing, with Alexandria, Va., tying for fourth place and Washington, D.C., coming in eighth.
The report ranked 100 cities on their percentages of full-time working women with annual incomes $75,000 and up, women business owners and women over 25 with bachelor’s degrees; plus housing cost as a percent of full-time working women’s earnings, median earnings for women working full-time and the unemployment rate of women aged 25 to 64.
No. 2 on the list — “a distant second” — was Scottsdale, Ariz., which boasted a median $56,600 salary for full-time working women and 3.5% female unemployment rate. (That’s the same as the national unemployment rate for women 25 and over, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.) Madison, Wis., ranked third, with nearly one-third of its women having earned college degrees, though its women were somewhat underpaid relative to fellow top 10 cities.
Alexandria, where full-time women workers’ median earnings are nearly $67,000, tied for fourth place with San Francisco. The Bay Area tech mecca was home to women with the second-highest median earnings on the list — about $71,700 — but took a hit for its staggering cost of living, according to SmartAsset.
Rounding out the top 10 were Raleigh, N.C., in sixth place; Minneapolis in seventh; D.C. in eighth; Plano, Texas in ninth, and Denver in 10th. The top-ranking cities represented all corners of the country, the site noted, with no one geographic region dominating the list.
The greater D.C. area isn’t just teeming with successful women: The District of Columbia is also the ideal place for millennials to live, according to a recent WalletHub analysis that ranked all 50 states and D.C. on metrics of affordability, quality of life, education and health, economic health and civic engagement.
For those who still aren’t sold on the region, Arlington is also the top city for runners, per a SmartAsset study released earlier this month. That ranking took into account factors like walkability, gyms and races per 10,000 residents, and percent of residents living within a 10-minute walk from a park.

When the fabric of memory is fragile, what is it that holds it together? We have never been there, tells us our memory. We have been there, tells us the photograph. We were never that happy again after this day. What about these two people, slowly vanishing from the picture, faster vanishing from your life, where they stepped in only for a minor stint. The importance of a picture lies not what we see in the picture but in the way we connect what we see to what we assume to be outside the picture. The vanishing point of a story. Lives dropping behind the paper of a photo, disappearing between the pixels on the screen. They are not together anymore, they just stopped calling after a while. It was a fling in a summer that did not seem to end. Later, with other people, they might look back on this day and regret that they drifted apart. They married and today have two kids. He’s cheating on her. He hates his life. The way their lives unrolls out of this image into endless directions: This Faustian-Pause-Key, the “Verweile doch…” that an image represents, that lure of the lives that go through the image. The time collapsing and enclosing within its debris all possibilities.

Indie filmmaker and occasional actor Vincent Gallo has put an immaculate, upscale condo he owns in downtown Los Angeles on the market for $1.6 million. Gallo bought the one-bedroom, two-bath unit in 2015 for $450,000, meaning he’ll turn a $1.1 million profit if he gets full asking price.
“I own, like, $7 million worth of real estate that I don’t live in and I don’t rent it [out],” Gallo said in a 2004 interview with Howard Stern. “It’s sitting there, it’s hanging there. … I’ve never lost a penny in my life.”
The 1,941-square-foot loft is spartan and utilitarian, with 11-foot concrete ceilings; exposed ductwork; concrete floors, walls, and columns; and windows.
Like most lofts, the space is defined more by furniture and interior design than the building itself. The spacious dining area can accommodate a table for eight or more.

The kitchen is relatively small, with a compact gas stove and minimal counter space.
A free-standing wall separates the bedroom from the rest of the unit. The master bath has twin sinks, a stand-up shower, and separate tub. A half-bath has an industrial-looking sink and toilet, with dark gray walls, ceiling, and floor.

Gallo did a top-to-bottom mechanical remodel of the unit, including the heating and AC system, and added new, eco-friendly denim insulation.
The building includes a rooftop pool, with views of the downtown Los Angeles skyline. The rooftop is dotted with succulents in big planters and Adirondack chairs.

Constructed in 1924, the building was converted into a toy factory in the mid-1970s by Ace Novelty. The company was best known for its line of Treasure Troll dolls, which peaked in popularity in 1992. In 2006, the building was converted into a 119-unit live-work space.
Gallo appears to have had considerably more success in real estate than in film. His latest feature, 2010’s “Promises Written in Water,” was nearly universally panned and wasn’t commercially distributed. He was in the news last month, after penning an open letter criticizing actress Rose McGowan for not publicly accusing producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault earlier.

Feeling Hella Good
Game: Life Is Strange: Before The Storm Episode 2: Brave New WorldDeveloper: Deck NinePublisher: Square EnixReviewed on: XBox One (Review code provided)
Already, Before The Storm has successfully carved out its own unique place in the Life Is Strange universe, being both reassuringly familiar to fans of the original series, but also different enough to feel like more than just a simple re-tread of what came before. This second instalment may start off slow, but offers some great set-piece moments that really heighten the emotional impact of the episode. A literal wildfire is ripping through Arcadia Bay throughout proceedings, which serves as a metaphor to the brewing storm that unwinds in a shocking reveal at its end.
After the fallout from your actions in part one has played out, it feels a little like the game is treading water waiting for Rachel and Chloe to come back together in the second act of the episode. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as it provides several of the famous Life Is Strange “bench” moments. Simple moments where the player is offered the choice to sit and reflect on recent events. This is entirely optional and can last as long or as short a time as one wishes, ended by a simple button press to stand up. But they offer the best window into the mind of Chloe, into her motivation and her current mental state. It is in these moments that the game has space to breathe, and feels more than just an on-rails interactive drama.
This section of the episode also provides players with what is possibly the first traditional adventure game puzzle that has featured in the entire franchise. In the iconic junkyard, which has appeared in both titles, Chloe is trying to piece together a new ride to carry Rachel Amber and herself off into the sunset. To do this, you actually have to collect the right items and put them together, like an old-fashioned point and click game. This is a welcome change of pace and as simple as it may sound, it does offer more opportunity to bond with Chloe. These moments are important because Chloe is a caustic and can be a difficult character to relate to, so these more thoughtful and sedate moments help round out her character greatly.
I stress how important these moments are, because it sometimes feels like the smaller, background characters are actually more likeable than our two heroes. In a somewhat under-cooked side story, Chloe must choose whether or not to help a schoolmate whose family are going through tough times. Within this, you get the chance to speak with several interesting and well-rounded characters, whom you actually wish you had the chance to spend more time with. But perhaps it is the well-roundedness of these characters that means they can only be bit-part players. Life Is Strange isn’t and never has been about the perfect adolescent life, but the struggles and pitfalls that teens have to deal with. Difficult relationships, family drama, dangerous situations; these all make Chloe a difficult person to bear at times, but ultimately a fascinating one.
The player gets several new opportunities to make use of the new Backtalk gameplay feature that was introduced in episode one, but most of the decisions you make in those situations have little effect on the overall progression of the story. True, minor details will change, but after playing through a few of the different dialogue choices, the end results were all pretty similar, with only very shallow changes. Sadly that is perhaps the main negative point that I have felt with Before The Storm so far; magnified somewhat by the fact that anyone who has played the first series knows exactly where the protagonists here are going to end up. This adds a kind of inexorable fate to all of your choices, and actually takes away from their impact. I repeatedly found myself thinking that no matter what I choose this isn’t going to change their fate.
But even if that all feels a bit too pre-determined, then you get blown away by a moment like the school play scene. A Blackwell production of Shakespere’s The Tempest is used to draw Chloe and Rachel closer together, with their growing bond being interwoven into the lines if the play itself. The touching moment shows just how quickly the two girls have come to emotionally rely on one another. This is quickly followed by another poignant scene, where the pair, high on the adrenaline of a successful performance, fully resolve to escape their problems in Arcadia Bay and start life anew, together. As tender and affecting as the scene may be in a teen angsty kind of way, you know that this can’t all end well, and everything is inevitably brought to a screeching halt in the final scene.
VERDICT
This of course leaves a dramatic cliff-hanger for the concluding episode, and I find it hard to imagine how the whole story is going to be wrapped up in just one more part. Knowing where things are headed for both of the two main characters, it feel like there is still a lot of story left to be told and very little time to do so. Episode two sadly has moments where things drag a little, and perhaps that ends up feeling like wasted time. There is the fear that the conclusion can only be disappointing with so little time to really flesh it out, and I for one am left rueing the fact that Before The Storm isn’t going to be a full-length series like the first Life Is Strange was. But after the other surprisingly well-assured steps that Deck Nine have taken in dealing with the story and the key relationships within so far, I do have hope and remain excited to see where things go next.

By Eleanor Hines, North Sound Baykeeper and Lead Scientist
A few weeks into Orca Month (also known as “June” to many of you), we got some sad news – we lost one of our iconic Southern Resident Orcas, bringing their population down to just 75 – the fewest orcas alive in the Salish Sea since the early 1980s. And then we saw the haunting display of love and loss when a mother orca carried her dead newborn calf on a “tour of grief” that lasted more than two weeks.
It all seems disheartening. But there are many ways our little length of shoreline in Bellingham Bay can play a key role in restoring our orca population, even though orcas are rarely seen here. To start a conversation about it, Moondance Sea Kayak Adventures and RE Sources took eight interested paddlers out on a kayak tour of Bellingham’s waterfront to celebrate Orca Month. We launched our tandem kayaks from Zuanich Park into the choppy water for a close-up look at seven spots along the waterfront — including some sites the public hasn’t had access to for decades.
Industrial activities in the 1900s followed by a legacy of pollutants left in the ground — like mercury, nickel, petroleum byproducts, and more — made most of the waterfront area off-limits to the public for about 100 years. The shoreline has also been physically altered by armoring, dredging up sediment, and filling in parts of the natural shoreline to build on. These changes make the waterfront hazardous to young Chinook salmon, which need clean, protected nearshore habitat to grow and make it to the open ocean. And Chinook salmon make up 80% of our resident orcas’ food source.
The decline of these salmon is a huge reason orca numbers have dropped and aren’t rising; Puget Sound Chinook are hovering around 10% of their historical numbers. Combined, the resident orca pods eat roughly half a million salmon per year. To give some perspective, the entire Skagit River can feed our orcas for about one month out of the year with its current salmon runs. Juvenile Nooksack Chinook, who rely on the habitat in Bellingham Bay, also face considerably smaller numbers of salmon returning. The spring Nooksack Chinook runs are listed as “Threatened” under the US Endangered Species Act.
It’s impossible to restore healthy orca populations without talking about helping salmon, and it’s impossible to help salmon without making Bellingham Bay hospitable to their young.
From Pollution to Public Parks
We were lucky enough to be one of the first-ever groups leading a visit to sites that demonstrate a successful and collaborative cleanup effort. Waypoint Park – home of the 400,000 pound, eye-catching acid ball – is a brand-new example of what the City of Bellingham and others hope can become of some of our old industrial sites. The public can access the area for the first time since pre-industrial times, now free of legacy pollutants left behind from the pulp and tissue mill operations at Georgia Pacific West. It’s been carefully constructed with rocks and a tiny pocket beach, creating perfect habitat for young Chinook, fresh out of their riverine hatching grounds to grow accustomed to the salty sea where they’ll become adults. In fact, the city added pocket beach to the design of Waypoint Park after getting input from the public. The City, the Port, the Department of Ecology, and others are also removing shoreline armoring, to prevent good habitat from eroding away.
All these teams turning swaths of polluted sediment into parks and salmon habitat is something unique and worth appreciating. Several of those kayaking with us had recently come to Bellingham from all over the place: North Carolina, Utah, a recently graduated college student and her aunt. One person hailed from Chicago, and he noted how toxic sites around his hometown haven’t been cleaned up, let alone considered for public use. Seeing a community actively trying to clean up – and provide access to the cleaned-up spaces – felt impressive and new.
Making sure the redevelopment suits our community’s needs, as well as those of the salmon that humans and orcas rely on, is a big priority. The good news is, like with Waypoint Park, we can build a thriving waterfront with interconnected parks and business without sacrificing plentiful habitat for orcas’ most critical food source. The City and Port of Bellingham have a dream of making a trail connecting some of these sites, incorporating parks and valuable habitat, making it a draw for people from downtown to the waterfront.
As your North Sound Baykeeper, it feels good to be on the forefront of reconnecting people with natural spaces around their home. We aim to have even more people come paddle on the water with us in the future. This is YOUR waterfront, and I hope you’ll join me to make it healthier for all.
What can YOU do?
Ecology will be releasing several public comment periods this fall on other cleanup sites, such as South State Street Manufactured Gas Plant at Boulevard Park and the I&J Waterway this September, so stay tuned for more tours and ways to participate in the public process of cleaning up and redeveloping our waterfront. Sign up for our e-news to get updates or check our permits website for updates on public comment periods.
If you want to attend a public meeting of Gov. Inslee’s Orca Task Force, check out schedules and agendas here. This is a unique opportunity to press the Task Force to take bold action to protect our orcas. The time for business-as-usual is over; the orcas, salmon, and people who rely on them deserve better.

A Guide to
Byzantine Coins from circa 969-1118 A.D.
For more than a century, the production of Follis denomination Byzantine
coins was dominated with purely religious Christian motifs which
included included Jesus Christ, and sometimes Virgin Mary. The Follis
denomination coins were the largest bronze denomination coins issued by
the Byzantine empire, and their large size, along with the Christian
motif make them a popular coin type for collectors. This series ran from
the period of Byzantine emperors John I (969-976 A.D.) to Alexius I
(1081-1118 A.D.). The accepted classification was originally devised by
Miss Margaret Thompson with her study of these types of coins. World
famous numismatic author, David R. Sear adopted this classification
system for his book entitled, Byzantine Coins and Their Values. The
