Seen in front of the MIT student center. He was also handing out pamphlets about Plan9.
It was not clear to me whether he was genuinely evangelizing Plan9 or was doing a performance hack. He certainly seemed very sincere.
Container for sale at Uwajimaya; phone photo, so not as clear as it could be.
It's like a Tupperware dish, only IIRC, the bowl is glass. Very nice, actually.
A photograph only a SysAdmin could love!
Actually, it appears to be a public agency devoted to finding work for ex-cons.
I'll let you draw the lines.
And my first video on flickr. We had dinner and mad e a robot. Unfortunately i appeared to have misplaced the instructions, so M just followed the picture on the box, and then apparently i'd also lost the disc with the software. And it had been designed for windows. And you needed a serial port. Cereal? Anyway. Unix conquers all - WINE! And we drunk wine too. And now to cover it in astro-turf! with plastic sheep :)
Developed by the Imperium Industries, the AUC-9 (Avion Unix Core 9) was the first significant cybernetic robotic individual created by the Avion Alliance, which was mass produced in response to unfriendly technological advancements in neighboring factions. It is equipped with a pair of binocular flood lights that illuminates all objects within a certain arc spread. The other side is attached with an infrared sensor, which detects levels of released heat or energy, also very useful in the wide spectrum of universal warfare. The robotic computing system, or "brain," is a regular processing unit that is kicked up a notch. Probably the most significant, the unit's internal nervous system, if you will, is wired with plenty more extra DSL modems (which are considered very rare after the DSL meltdown period). This can allow the robotic warrior to surf the military web quickly for vital information that can turn the course of action to their human commanders' advantage. Firing an ionic siege cannon, handling a tuantuan, and learning how to stitch wounds are all available with these installments. Yet, it is not limited to making lattes, trouble shooting for making ice cream, or baking pies at the local bakery.
This was the hardcopy manual given to Computer Science undergrads at UCW Aberystwyth in the 80s, to help them find their way around the SunOS environment provided by the department for students to work on. It contains copies of original UNIX-related papers and documentation introducing command line use and basic utilities such as vi.
I've now made an online version too.
I wanted to test to see if ports worked. Packets doesn't, but as you can see, I was able to successfully install Apache via ports.
For some reason a module was missing in Apache, but as soon as I removed it from the config file, it started right up.
Oh, I had to take these photos with my video camera. My wife borrowed my camera.
Here is a collection of crap in my old old apartment in Kingston. Do take the time to notice my first UNIX box - good old SGI (R.I.P.) Irix. Cut my Unix teeth on this baby.
(1) Make.
(2) Install.
(3) Profit?
