I inverted the photo to get these rusty Autumnal colours.

There are four different types of font, three different styles,(regular, italic, bold), and they have also used both capital and lowercase in this sign. The blends of the different typefaces and letter sizes makes this sign ugly and does'nt attract the eye to anything in particular aswell as it being to clustered which makes it hard to realise exactly what it is there trying to communicate.

This exhibition — “Republish: Typography As...” is an effort of the team behind Republish to see the typefaces in action, while treading the border of art & design. A variety of notions are investigated through the artworks, such as
[1] the juxtaposition of heritage and contemporary,
[2] the physical materialism of type, and
[3] the collective memory of cultural heritage and artifacts.

One of Bologna's fine preserved shop signs. The shop looks like it still is a mesticheria - which is an old word for a paint shop.
