Cable Thief is the new typeface from Studio Disjointed that forms as part of an obsession with typography and the overhead power cables found across the rail network.
In the UK the theft of cable from rail networks has become a widespread problem that costs the network financially but also impacts directly on those using the service for travel.
The typeface is an experiment that looks at aspects of itself that are missing, the fragility of the font is held together by cables and pulleys. Without these the typeface would collapse.

3rd round of exploration geared towards developing in-camera techniques for animating motion graphics to arrive at a less mechanical, more organic and optical feel, but with a process that provides flexibility for content control. No compositing is used here, no photoshop manipulation. My constraints are exposures no longer than 30 seconds, all typography and imagery is composed and exposed during that duration.
The next round will deal with registration issues, color and further exploration of foreground / middleground / background shifting of elements.

circa 1992. During the first half of the 1990's I was Signage Design Coordinator at the University of Alberta. I tweeked the existing design standard and created this document using Adobe Illustrator and Pagemaker. I introduced a broader letter spacing (roughly 35 Illustrator tracking) to improve distance legibility of typography. Kerning description was borrowed from Peter Bartl by permission.

Whenever I am at my apartment, I spend a lot of time at my desk..
Whether that be on the computer, doing homework, sitting in my chair not doing anything
reading a book, watching videos, etc. If I am in my room, I am either sitting in my chair at my desk or on my bed sleeping.
