Typography project based on Jasper Johns' series 0 though 9. I used pencil, fine liner, water colours and ink.
Prints using letter stencils and masks, experimenting with composition and minimal colour through using text.

The title would translate Discourse about the Lift, in German actually translated as Diskurs ueber den Lift, hasn't been translated to English or French.
The cover is stylized like the vertical lines of an elevator (paternoster), part of the title coming down, the other coming up. And it has variations inside of the book. Graphic work of Jiří Rathouský, published in 1965.

So this week I followed the typography portrait tutorial that I found online. It was actually relatively simple and straightforward. It didn’t take me long at all. The tutorial involved using selective coloring to create a “base layer” for all my work. I then used custom brushes and painted them onto a blank canvas. I took my base layer and placed it into a layer mask, inverting the colors so to create the effect. I then added a gradient overlay (Blue/Red – looked the best) and added more text over it. I hope that this makes sense. I did everything using a 30-day trial version of Photoshop CS5. Otherwise, it probably wouldn’t have been possible. I think it fits in really well. When I see this, I see happiness (which is the emotion) and it clearly has typography. I used various fonts; roughly about 6 different fonts. This turned out surprisingly well considering it’s the one of the few times I’ve done a purely graphic design photo (and it was the first time I’ve use CS5).

Her ex-husband on the show was Derek Shepherd who plays on Grey's Anatomy.
She also had a fling with Alex Karev on Grey's Anatomy.
She now is on Private Practice and works at Oceanside Wellness Clinic.
Her bestfriend there is Naomi. She works with her ex- sister in law Amelia Shepherd...
