The Matshwane Primary School in Maun is at the bottom end of the Okavango Delta. Although the Okavango is thousands of miles from the sea, people everywhere can impact marine life through our choices.

A cute little guy, though. He wasn't as shy as most turtles I come across.
This is a snapping turtle that was on the pavement at a local state and wildlife fishing area. I actually got down on the ground to get this shot.
This little box turtle managed to position itself right in the middle of the main trail in the Fresh Ponds portion of Delaware Seashore State Park near Bethany Beach. I moved him/her out of the way of my bicycle, and I hope s/he stayed that way. But with box turtles you never know . . . . Photographed on August 27, 2013.
