Went to Mud Lake this morning.

Before leaving, I hesitated bringing the Sigma 70-300mm but decided not to, wanting to focus on using the Pentax 50-135mm f/2.8 and since both lens are pretty heavy and I didn't feel like bringing the two, I settled on the 50-135.

When I saw the turtles, I somewhat regretted not having the extra reach.

Oh well.

With this cold front hitting right after the hurricane we may

not see Gertle & her two lil buddies till spring.......

hibernation time for Terrapene carolina bauri (Florida Box Turtle).

I'm hoping to see them a few more times before they

burrow away for the winter... :)

UPDATE.... It's warming up again & Gertle is doing her

regular backyard stomp... :)
