The 2002 Turbo was launched at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show. BMW's, and Europe's, first turbocharged production car, the 2002 Turbo produced 170 hp (127 kW) at 5,800 rpm, with 240 N·m (180 lb·ft) of torque. The 2002 Turbo used the 2002 tii engine with a KKK turbocharger and a compression ratio of 6.9:1 in order to prevent engine knocking. The 2002 Turbo was introduced just before the 1973 oil crisis, and 1,672 Turbos were built.

*145/365 Went out to take pics of my buddies 911 Turbo today, car is absolutely incredible. We spent a good amount of time driving around looking for a location before deciding on this one. I brought my flash stuff too which just barely fit in the hood. I wish I had some video of this thing, with straight exhaust only about a foot long, this thing roars.

This is the Turbo Prop aircraft coming into land. I took this photo yesterday, but got too busy on the LDD program today to upload. So I'm uploading it now. :-) Hope you like it.
The Autometer Cobalt II 52mm boost gauge installed in my 1999 Subaru Impreza WRX. The car was on and I was revving to get the needle action in the gauge.
Improvements for next time: action, wash the car!
This is the mythical 1974 Paris Motor Show turbo prototype. It's spent most of it life here in Australia, as both a race car and then a road car. Most people
know little about this car and many inaccuracies abound. It's often referred to as having a wooden engine. It had a real but non-functioning engine from the sump plate up to the induction, but the
'turbo' bits were indeed made of timber. The sale sheet shows a chassis number.
Even though it should have 2 consecutive threes in it, the chassis is that of a 1973 2.4S coupe. Its original windscreen had the 'Carrera' script engraved across the top, but sadly that is long gone. I believe the car was sold to Chicago. In the 70's I worked at
Sydney's then-only Porsche dealer and we had the car in the showroom for a while. I have lots of photos of it in its original condition. I love this car! I'd love to build a rep of it. These shots were taken at the Phillip Island historic meeting in 2007.

This is as clean and beautiful as it gets. The exterior design is real subtle and gives away nothing about the turbo-induced power that lies beneath.
Well, almost nothing, if you take a look at those wheels.
This is the upgrade we did last year. it's now max'd out and we're taking it off and replacing it with the new one
1979 SAAB 99 turbo.
Last taxed in February 2008 with an export marker showing. Last MoT test expired in September 2009.
