A Meal I made at papaya farms road. Edible hibiscus leaves steamed with a lemon for the wrap, rice cooked in water and coconut cream (made from the coconut meat juiced through a wheat grass juicer), lettuce courtesy of the natural food store in Pahoa, minced Hawaii hot pepper (the red things), minced parsley (smaller darker green pieces in the middle), and cooked Quinoa with curry or tumeric I forget wich (the yellowish grain in the middle).
One of my favourite relishes...a recipe of my mother's....I always feel my mum's presence in my kitchen when making these yummy pickles....if you are interested in the recipe, look here:

It needed a little salt, and I accidentally used too much paprika, but I was quite happy with how it came out otherwise. Maybe a bit spicier than some people can handle though.
Raw flax crackers with pumpkin seed cheese (soaked pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, garlic, tumeric and Bragg's Amino Acids).
This is an installation made of spices arranged in the pattern of an Afghani war rug. The blue is poppyseeds, the yellow is tumeric, the red is cayenne pepper, etc. Like a Buddhist sand mandala, this piece was temporary, created in five days during the Art Chicago expo in 2003 at Navy Pier. At the conclusion of the show, the piece was printed and remaining spices swept up.
Soften onion, toss in ginger and garlic (equal amounts), mustard seed and other whole spices as desired, finally stir in tomatoes, ground coriander/cumin/tumeric and then the veg. Add minimum of liquid and steam until done.

Tumeric Glutenous Rice. It is my favourite. My aunt used to make it to celebrate special occassion. This time round, my 2 sis prepare it. It is very fragrant. Yum yum. It is best eaten with hard boiled eggs and salad with Beef Masala Curry.
