True confession: It being Valentine's Day and all, when I spied these triangular boxes on the dining room table earlier this morning my heart leapt. It leapt because for one moment of excitement I thought they were GIANT TOBLERONES!
My heart fell in the moment I realized they were not chocolate, but mail addressed to me. However, as it turns out, I think these are some new Goofin' with the Muses posters. Yeehaw. Better than chocolate. If they are I'll be listing them on Etsy later today and notifying those on the waiting list. Happy Valentine's Day and thank you to Canada Post for delivering these early on a day that most things are slowed down due to the weather.

After getting back home, and watching a couple of episodes of True Blood, Shobhit and I decided to go dancing -- and Delan was thrilled to come with us, as he said he'd had no one else to go with.
The line at the Cuff was crazy -- well over halfway down the block -- and it moved at a glacial pace. These were the people in Halloween costume in line directly in front of us: Hugh Hefner and Playboy Bunny (an appropriately creepy costume, given the clearly huge age difference between the people in them -- even with the fake gray hair on the guy to the right in mind).
None of us brought our jackets, as we didn't want to have to check them. The rain was mostly light the whole time, but it was cold; I was freezing. Most of the time these guys in front of us stood so the young thin guy was also wrapped in the other guy's robe jacket. We stood in line well over an hour, until finally we overheard someone behind us in line saying he'd gone up to check and found that the Cuff was at capacity and they were only letting people in when someone left. That meant it was likely to be perhaps even another hour before we got in, so at that point we all just gave up and went back home.
Thankfully it was a short walk, as The Cuff is only about a block and a half away.

Illinois State University have been named as the overall winners of the 47th Limerick International Band Championship.
Around 1,000 musicians performed in the event saw 17 bands from the United States, Germany, England, Northern Ireland, Tipperary, Dublin, Donegal and Westmeath as well as Limerick marching down O’Connell Street in Limerick as part of the Limerick St Patrick’s Festival 2017.
Tens of thousands of spectators braved the weather and lined the route, cheering on the competitors in what is Ireland’s only marching band competition.
Illinois State University were presented with the Kenneally Jewellers Perpetual Trophy as overall winners of the championship organised by Grooveyard on behalf of Limerick City and County Council.

So this is our new doggy. She's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and we adopted her two days ago. She's 10 months old and the tiniest, most precious little dog ever. Also she is a little timid and as you can see loves to cuddle. We named her Bella.

Candidates for all offices in the election cycle of 2012 spent about 7 billion dollars total. I wonder if anyone genuinely feels better about his or her life after a favored candidate won. What, in fact, was won? Does anyone other than the few people whose lobbyists (over 40,000 lobbyists?) successfully prevent their immense incomes from being shared with workers know?
