Meskel is an annual religious holiday in the Ethiopian Orthodox and Eritrean Orthodox Churches commemorating the discovery of the True Cross by Queen Helena (Saint Helena) in the fourth century.
Inspired by some amazing Acer colour images appearing on Flickr I thought I'd have a quick look at the bottom of the garden where a creeper and 'golden' jasmine co-exist quite happily.
...I wasn't on my way to the Opera House this time, but what was happening inside was SF Ballet's next@90 festival, for which I - yes, I - wrote the notes inside the programme booklet.
Looks like I become a shipspotter, strange but true ...
