I had intended to make a delicious and satisfying mess and then add ink, but it turned out fine with just the watercolor, so - believe it or not - I'm not adding ink!

I have always been artistic. However, I never thought photography would become one of my favorite mediums and forms of expression. I have drawn, sculpted, painted, and danced. Through this experimentation I never thought of photography as something I would be good at. It all started with a high school photography course. I had taken it simply to learn how to compose better photos, but I learned something. While going out into the world to complete assignments I found that I had a natural affinity for photography.
I believe that photos must be both clear and true. A true photo is raw and can speak for itself. True photos speak to the audience and open minds to interpretation. The composing of such photos starts with a process. I always start with a general idea that can be easily modified to fit what can be composed in my surroundings. This is typically an abstract belief, emotion, or issue. I am also partial to macro photography. As such, my subjects are usually intricate and/or small.
I do not typically edit my photos in photoshop to this extent. However, I really felt that it added to the mood. To create this photo, I had to sit on my bathroom counter and take pictures into the mirror. It was difficult and took quite a bit of trial and error to get a good angle. I felt that if I desaturated the background it would make myself pop. I also thought that it brought on the idea that I tend to brighten up a particularly dull day. I tend to think of this as my true self, both bright and colorful.
On the other hand, I also enjoy the dark and macabre, hence my dark alter ego.
This photo was taken in the bathtub with my camera sitting on the faucet and the self timer on. This composition is an alter ego self portrait. My alter ego is an angry at the world Goth. I chose this to be my alter ego because I love the style, but I can't pull it off with my overly bubbly personality. Typically, I settle for the punk style. I chose to take this photo in the tub because I felt that it was a sterile environment where I am completely different compared to my surroundings. I tend to make being different stand out in my self portraits. Like my other self portrait, this photo was edited in Photoshop, however not as excessively. I brightened the background and upped the contrast between all the black and red. I felt these changes assisted in darkening myself, and highlighting the reds. The macro setting was used in this photo as well. I used my macro setting for this shot in order to capture the little details in the fishnets and tutu.

True to life real to peal some strange stories ring out through the Winter of long nights with an hour, or two for telling tales that echo on into the summer of camp fire gatherings where the enraptured subconscious embraces the grisly genre. When the bright lights fade and night sets in with precise pertinent purpose to bring out shadow conscious companions for a deeper sense of dread. The Sun in triumph returns to burn away the gourmet psyche parfait that slumbers shadow bound to seek the shades where loitering reminiscence and lingering recognizance dwell in darkened depths with luscious trepidation engaging adorable abhorrence at the roots of Yggdrasil that are still found in tremoring ground shaken from the prolonged punishing penance to which Loki is bound til the corrupt age of Odin fades and fearsome flames in the forge of the battleground destruction readily release us to a new brilliant bright cosmos that maybe forever free of fear as Líf and Lífþrasir appear.
