Since I don't etch silver in the studio, I'm doing some experiments in making etched rings wearable. This one didn't work, but there's some potential

This picture participates in the huge 'Massilight' project, started with around 15000 night pictures of 'Massilia' (Marseilles) that tell a story of Marseilles and close surroundings, gathered during the 2009-2010 winter, mostly when the Christmas lights illuminate the city.

Massilight pictures can be viewed in several ways, by increasing date taken:
- in their 'Massilight' flickr set
- or using darckr with your preferred settings
- also in square size, 10 columns, 500 squares per page, (or a random page)
- or using 20 columns, good for large screens, (or a random page)
They can also be viewed according to a Flickr's interestingness sequence:
- by descending interestingness (500 squares), (small), (medium)
- by ascending interestingness (500 squares), (small), (medium)
Note that the interestingness ranking will vary over time based upon photo views, faves, etc. This evolution is part of what makes the massilight project a living and interactive artwork.

One o the best passed away today. We saw him fly at Andrews this year and he was awesome. Always the gentleman and true professional.

To all our friends and airshow family -
Greg Poe died today of a heart attack near Boise. This is a great shock and certainly a very sad day for his family, our team and the airshow family he dearly loved. A formal release will be forth coming with details regarding services and arrangements. Greg was at the top of his game and rising, and he will be greatly missed.

Dog-day Cicada (Neotibicen canicularis) nymph.

This Cicada nymph was wandering around looking for a place to molt.
This species lives underground for 3 years, feeding on the roots of trees. Periodical Cicadas, which are much smaller and have red eyes, live underground for 13 or 17 years, depending on the species.

Day 348 of 2015. One of the things I've really valued about this Photo-A-Day project is that it's helped me see certain patterns in my life. One of the amazing patterns this year is that I've spent a lot of time with the people who matter to me the most. That hasn't always been the case.
As I get older, I especially value the friends I've known for many years, the ones who have been with me through thick and thin, who have my back no matter what. Most relationships are fleeting, but I'm lucky to have several that are deep and meaningful and that have already survived the test of time. I feel like I've needed them more than usual this year, probably more than they realize. I feel very, very blessed.

Emerald Cockroach Wasp. This true torture baby attacks a roach many times her size by a sting in its legs and so temporarily paralysing them. Then, sunken to its knees, the emerald queen stings the roach's head, making it her obeying zombie prisoner. She has it follow her to a pre-dug burrow, lays an egg in its body, and seals the tomb. The wasp larva hatches from its egg and eats the roach alive, leaving the vital organs till last (I am not making this up - Nature History Museum
Allah guides whoever he wills…….eventhough Allah is the lord for everyone, the real guidance(ISLAM) is given to very people whom he wills….am one of them….thus, am proud
