An old picture from the family photo drawer. I don't know where this was taken, but the "Purdue" pennant on the wall by the stairs makes me think this might be the inside of Purdue's "Triangle" fraternity house, of which my grandfather was a member, circa 1920.
Triangles
Three triangles of birds crossed
Over the enormous ocean which extended
In winter like a green beast.
Everything just lay there, the silence,
The unfolding gray, the heavy light
Of space, some land now and then.
Over everything there was passing
A flight
And another flight
Of dark birds, winter bodies
Trembling triangles
Whose wings,
Frantically flapping, hardly
Can carry the gray cold, the desolate days
From one place to another
Along the coast of Chile.
I am here while from one sky to another
The trembling of the migratory birds
Leaves me sunk inside myself, inside my own matter
Like an everlasting well
Dug by an immovable spiral.
Now they have disappeared
Black feathers of the sea
Iron birds
From steep slopes and rock piles
Now at noon
I am in front of emptiness. It’s a winter
Space stretched out
And the sea has put
Over its blue face
A bitter mask.

The original Trinity that I worked up over the spring/summer of 06 before revamping the pattern. The shawl/wrap/throw is 55" x 51" x51" and is made from various stash and handspun yarns. Pattern will be available very soon at indigomuse.blogspot.com .
Some oak leaves still have color... Venus twin flash in the field.
Second chances, studio 26.
To be fair, i did not see the triangle(s) when I photographed this oak leaf. But having just looked over the assignments from this year and having spotted the triangle one, I accentuated the triangular composition in photoshop and think it is a better picture for it.
Not sure if it is really a 'triangle' if one of the angles is rounded, but it gives the illusion of triangles at the very least. The triangle seems to be a strong structural element, as it is everywhere in architecture, bridges, cranes... even shopping carts!
I had several other ideas for shots which did not get executed due to time/weather/etc. Hope to try them out as the year goes on...
Paper: cutted from 10 x 20 cm painted with acrylics
Grid: 16 x 24 x 24 or something like that
Had the second half of this sheet lying around and doodled a bit with triangle twists. I like the result, but the shape of the paper doesn't match. Should do it on a square perhaps with a grid rotated 30°.
Backlit photo crap as usual ;-)
I actually liked the apple cores better than this one, these were a bit difficult for me. Though I loved the idea of taping the template to the ruler! Much quicker!

The above photo has been shot with the Samsung SMART CAMERA NX20, which has been provided by Samsung Electronics. Co., Ltd.
Border of isosceles triangles added to windmill block top. Indian block prints, shot and hand-dyed cottons
An increasing tower of triangles, using a double-sink point fold. I like the pattern although the lower levels become a little unwieldy due to paper volume. no doubt there is a nicer/slicker way to fold it, but I haven't tried that yet.
I try to put a twist on the ordinary by adding dimension through colour. I would have used Kona greys but ran out of slate. While waiting for more, I thought I'd play with blues instead.
The aftermath of a fire at Gunnersbury Triangle nature reserve in Chiswick. The London Fire Service was called to the site on the evening of Tuesday July 16 and these photos were taken early the next morning. Thankfully just a relatively small area was affected but it could have been far worse with the site tinder dry in this 31C London heatwave. No cause has been established but it might be something as simple as someone leaving a glass bottle on the ground and it later being caught by the rays of the sun. Fire officers are pictured here back at the site the morning after to deal with any further problems. It appears fire / heat can travel underground in the peat soil. Gunnersbury Triangle, currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, is a unique site bordered on its three sides by London Underground's District Line, the London Overground and Bollo Lane. It is adjacent to Chiswick Business Park and Chiswick Park tube station.
