This is a set of 20 textile monoprints, created on repurposed cotton sheeting.

The work was created using freezer paper stencils and a print mix of procion mx dye thickened with sodium alginate.

The work was photographed, and then edited for size in Photoshop.

The originals will be scanned, then edited for color in Photoshop, digitally printed on organic cotton, matted and sold in museum and art center gift shops, and online at yasminsaburart.com and yasmintoo.etsy.com.

The project is expected to be completed by October 1st, 2011.

Size: 10X8 inches.

ODC-Triangles/Triangular

It was nice of Danbo to help me out today. Even his little mouth is a triangle.

6 equilateral triangles are glued so that it makes a hexagon "hole" . The length of every side being overlapped is exactly half of the side length of the equilateral triangle. If the area of one triangle is 120 cm^2, how many squared centimeters is the area of the hexagon?

Triangles. I looked up and saw this view. Quite a few triangles here!

Not my usual style but I love the finish! Inspired by ( blatantly copied! ) this quilt ( my girlfriend who is expecting pinned and commented on it) I thought I would make something similar. Its certainly not perfect but its a lovely snuggly quilt... Backed in flannel Happy Camper by Allison Cole ) and my favourite binding Croquant by Nami Adachi.

Used all the pens in a random drawer downstairs

Can anyone guess what that shape is from that is hovering over my head?

Version 3, thanks to comments from Ondrej.

I follow the idea by Hans-Werner Guth. Just fold one part of the edge in front and fold one part of the edge next to the first to the back. Then I get a "nose" that can be combined here with a starting triangles to a hexagon like the hexagon cross.

It isn't possible to tessellate it with this method. The triangle has an odd number of edges.
