The Tree Top Walk at the Valley of the Giants. It has a maximum height of 40 meters and probably is the most famous tree top walk in Australia.

Der Tree Top Walk im Valley of the Giants.

The walkway is a free-standing suspension bridge spanning Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang, the two highest points in MacRitchie.

At 25m above the ground, the walkway gives you a closer look at the canopy, where all the action takes place. Here, you also have a better view of some of our forest birds; Colugos (flying lemurs) and Long-tailed macaques (monkeys); view trees from an entirely different angle and enjoy a panoramic view of Upper Peirce Reservoir. Some 80 species of birds and 18 rare trees have been spotted in the forest.

The site for the trail was carefully chosen to ensure that plant and animal communities were not disturbed during the building of the bridge. The walkway will also play an important role in forest canopy research, because it gives researchers access to areas well off the ground.

Views of and from the Tree Top Walk. This is the WA's best kept secret attraction as far as we are concerned in the UK. I only knew of it from reading Bill Bryson's book "Down Under"....thanks Bill!

It is certainly a "not to be missed" experience.

The Tree Top Walk, is a series of sixty-metre, lightweight steel trusses built on steel pylons to form a secure ramp.

Beginning at the Tingle Shelter, you can walk along a 420-metre-long steel-truss walkway which leads over a deep, red tingle gully.

The highest point in the 600-metre loop is about 40 metres.

And all for only $8!!

The Treetop walk is an elevated path about 25metres above the Tropical Rainforest, a nice workout.....some rare species of trees were along the path.

The map of MacRitchie Trails. Our hike started from Venus Drive onwards until the Treetop Walk via Venus Loop, Venus Link, Terentang Trail and Pierce Track. From Treetop Walk, we hiked back down via Petaling Trail and got stuck at Petaling Hut due to extreme heavy showers. We then decided to hike an extra 400m to Jelutong Tower. We return back to civilization via Sime Track, Terentang Trail, Venus Link and Venus Loop.

Brought my love to the MacRitchie Tree Top Walk for a little hike and photoshoot. The TTW is a suspension bridge that lets visitors get close to the forest canopy at the MacRitchie park. To get to the walk itself, we started at the romantically named Venus Drive and trekked for about 3km before reaching it. But the view (and the photos) were worth it!

A walkway 18m (59ft) above ground has been unveiled at London's Kew Gardens, enabling visitors to explore the treetop canopy.

Designed by architects behind the London Eye, the 200m (656ft) long Xstrata walkway also offers aerial views of the capital's skyline.
