The world’s tallest man made indoor waterfall that rains down from over 100 feet.

The TreeTop Walk (TTW) is the highlight of several long hiking routes in MacRitchie that brings you through the different stages of a mature secondary forest. The first of its kind in Singapore and in the region, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird's eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250 m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25 m.

The treetop walk gives a breathtaking views and Vista....the odd ray of sunshine streaking through the tree canopies shed beautiful bokeh. The swaying guardrails and platform creates ongoing excitement...it's best enjoyed with a free walk, the cameras and camera bags are not a good idea here. Any small things you drop, it is just bye-bye!

I was back at my parent's house in Kulim. The weekend was rather free and lack of events. I decided to drive 30km from town after dropping my daughter at school to the Ulu Sedim River. There in the thick midst of the Tropical Jungle were some awesome white water river and rapids....it is a site for the International River Slalom competition.

On site was the longest treetop canopy constructed over more than one kilometer in length. The walkway is elevated at the maximum of 30 metres above the forest. The gantry are laid out with a slight gradient to the peak and descending back over the river crossing.

It is weird seeing the tall trees moving out in circular motion from the strong breeze.

My next series will be featuring shots from the location.

Thats the Treetop Walk (Baumwipfelpfad) itself. It goes up to 42 meters above the sea.

Taken in The Valley Of The Giants in Western Australia. This is “Grandma Tingle.” who was so named because of her gnarled and wrinkled appearance and her distinct, ‘face’ which gives her an almost human character. In the past she was called the Gatekeeper as though she was keeping watch over the forest.

This matriarch of the forest measures over 12 meters in circumference, 94 metres in height, and she is estimated to be over 400 years old.

Processed and tweaked in Lightroom and Photoshop CC.

Walking along the path under the tropical rain-forest canopies, the breezy elevated treetop walkway is a fine place to spend a nice weekend.

Intermittent sunshine ray streaking and catching the path giving a nice warm glow. The Lubitel 166B's T22 performing fine even when the machine oil getting to it's shutter blades and the back taking lens...apparently not affecting the image that much.

Australian Adventure -

heading further east on the South Coast Highway, near Nornalup (pop. 279) we found the Valley of the Giants and its legendary Tree Top Walk.

This place offers a 600m long walk in up to 30m height.

Nice place ;)

As seen from the Treetop Walk in Kew Gardens, London

At the beginning of the treetop walk, the crossing across the Sedim River, Kulim, Kedah, Darulaman. The walkway and platform starting it's gradual ascending to the tree top. The morning sun and balmy tropical rain forest breeze is a great way to start the morning. It is eerily quiet as I was the first and only trekker that morning, having to wait for the gates to open.

A view from the Otway Fly tree top walk.

The Otway Fly is a 600 metre long 25 metre high elevated tree top walk ascending at a gentle grade through a magnificent stand of cool temperate rainforest featuring Myrtle Beech, Blackwood and Mountain Ash.

The treetop walkway suspended from the massive column girder. The walkway platform consists of a meshed steel construction, which means that at any time on it, you will be able to see the bottom....it's like walking on a netting.

I was getting nervous every time I had to grab my camera bag to take a shot. I can see the forest canopy at the bottom. So sometimes forgetting to wind on....resulting to cool multiple shots! (See later post of platform floor shots).

Here's another angle of Henderson Wave

Henderson Waves

Distance: 0.3 km

Walking Time: 05 mins

At 36 metres above Henderson Road, Henderson Waves is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It was built to connect the two hills of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill.

The bridge has a unique wave-form made up of seven undulating curved steel “ribs” that alternately rise over and under its deck. The curved “ribs” form alcoves that function as shelters with seats within.

Slats of yellow balau wood, an all-weather timber found in South-East Asia, are used in the decking. Look out for carvings on the slats marking the height you are at on various points along the bridge.

The wave-forms will be lit with attractive LED light from 7pm to 7am daily, giving the bridge an illuminative glow.

The tree top in Hamaren Aktivitetspark is a one kilometer long and two meter wide boardwalk, which stretches on pillars all the way from the forest floor, along the lake Fyresvatn, up between the treetops, along the mountain ridge and up to the top of Klokkarhamaren – a hill with a height of 338 meters.

Trætropruten.offers all nature lovers, regardless of age, disability or physical limitations, a new perspective on Fyresdal's mountainous pine forest at a height of 15 metres.

The walk is fantastic and full of experiences, but pause for a view, for curiosity and reflection.

Valley of the Giants. The giants are the Red TIngle Trees - a eucalypt which grows to a great height but has no taproot so the root system is quite shallow. When the trees are attacked by fire or disease the trunks hollow out at the base and the tree becomes unstable. The Tree Top Walk was built to allow visitors to view these magnificent trees from above, thus protecting the delicate roots.

It doesn't take long to walk, about 15 minutes and you can go as many times as you like... We did three circuits, two when it was cloudy and then the sun came out later and we went round again!

I have added more shots in comments, and there are several more in our second shot....

Towering 18 metres above the ground, the Treetop Walkway is a chance to get closer to Kew’s trees.

From its heights you can observe the complex ecosystem of the trees' uppermost branches, a world teeming with birds and insects, lichen and fungi.

At ground level, sculptures carved from tree trunks illustrate microscopic elements of trees to explain how they grow. A path leads you below ground to the Rhizotron, an underground lab constructed to study the soil.
