There is a great tree top walk in Salcey Forest, you can even push a buggy or wheelchair to the treetops. This was taken from the highest point looking down on it. There is a great cafe there which has lovely cakes!

MacRitchie Trail

An 8km hike; the girls wore flops. I was pretty excited to do this hike to see some monkeys and witness their silly shenanigans I've heard so many tales of. At first they appear very adorable, but it's quite surprising how quickly these furry, cute mini-people devolve into violent demons. Your giggles will swiftly turn to terror when a monkey, fangs barred, sprints at you hissing wildly. The monkeys own you the moment you enter this forest. They also own this bridge, which is lavishly adorned with their poo. After this hike, we got lost for quite a while. However, I didn't mind any of it in the end.

I managed to take the morning off from work and went to the Black Forest to spend some time on the so-called treetop walk. The weather was lovely, warm but not too hot, and as I arrived early there weren't too many people. I will post some more photos of this place in the next days.

surprisingly Singapore has a number of walking trails, many taking you through the few remaining nature spots. This trail on the Southern Ridges also has elevated sections above the rainforest that allow you to walk through the canopy at tree top level, getting close to the flowers and animals

The Illawarra Fly- Tree Top Walk at Robertson 45 m above ground

The Illawarra Fly is a $6.5 million tree top walk which was officially opened in 2008.

It has panoramic views over the Illawarra coastline, Lake Illawarra and Greater Wollongong from a 45 metre tower and two suitably hair-raising cantilevered vantage points which gently sway as people walk out on them. The bulk of the structure is 25-30 metres above the ground and is surrounded by tall rainforest eucalypts, tree ferns and native birdlife may be seen in the trees.

It is called The Illawarra Fly; and is situated in the little township called Robertson not far from the scenic Macquarie Pass.

The entire walk from the entrance, which includes 500 metres suspended above the rainforest, takes about an hour.

Enter the Cloud Forest, a mysterious world veiled in mist. Take in breath-taking mountain views surrounded by diverse vegetation and hidden floral gems.

One of our better ideas was a family outing to a treetop adventure walk. Our 7 year old grand daughter, who is a very independent young lady - much like her mother was at that age - thought it was pretty cool to be outfitted in a waist harness, helmet, leather gloves, and safety lines. There was hesitation when looking up the tall ladder attached to the side of the tree but she pressed on. A little peer pressure and a helping hand from Mom and her older brother also helped. From my point of view, it was wonderful to see her progression from fearful to self confident. She was "in the zone" and at the end of it, we had to do it again.

This suspension bridge is part of the "Tree Top Walk" in MacRitchie Reservoir in Singapore. It's really cool, in case you can't tell from the photo. You are way up high in the trees and can see green in all directions -- it doesn't look at all like you're in a major metropolitan city. There wasn't a sole around the whole time we were out here, either, so it was incredibly peaceful and fun.

Finally I reached the Treetop Walk

The TreeTop Walk (TTW) is the highlight of several long hiking routes in MacRitchie that brings you through the different stages of a mature secondary forest. The first of its kind in Singapore and in the region, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird's eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250 m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25 m.
