Sunset ~ Deerfield Beach, Florida

Taken in bright sunlight with a B+W F-Pro circular polarizer.

This lovely old statue, covered in moss, stands in deep shadow, under an overhanging tree canopy at Milton Park, Bowral. She could really do with a clean, but then she'd probably lose some of her character and charm.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. (ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 19.201 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

Black howler monkeys are one of the few primate species with different coat colors in males and females—a trait called sexual dimorphism, which is a broad term that includes differences in size, behavior, and other characteristics between males and females of the same species. Males have a black coat, while females are blonde. Black howler monkeys have a prehensile tail without hair on the bottom side, which they use for grasping during locomotion. The upper molars have sharp, shearing crests that are used in grinding leaves. They move slowly using a quadrupedal mode of locomotion and they have five-toed, grasping feet. The large hyoid bone (Adam's apple) that allows for their loud call restricts arm movement, so howler monkeys rely heavily on their tail for locomotion.

A canopy of vibrant fall leaves in shades of red, orange, and green frames a bright blue sky, capturing the essence of autumn’s bold colors. Sunlight filters through the trees, illuminating the foliage and adding warmth to the crisp fall scene. Photographed by Duncan Rawlinson in Algonquin Provincial Park, this image showcases the beauty of nature’s seasonal transformation as summer shifts to autumn.

The enchanting ancient forest of puzzle wood in the forest of dean. Reputedly the inspiration for Fanghorn forest in JRR Tolkiens 'Lord of the rings' trilogy and 'The Hobbit". Tolkien visited the woodland on several occasions while writing his famous work.

The location was recently used for the BBC production of 'Merlin' series 2 & 3 and the recent series of Dr Who.

Warner Bros were due to arrive the day after my visit to check out its credentials as a film location.

The area has been used for over 2000 years and sits on top of a network of caves (clearwell caves) over the years more than 3000 Roman coins have been found in the area.

Reaching for light, growing toward empty space, these are magnificent trees when in a large open “chenier”……living with them has its issues….like a bed partner who hogs the space and takes the covers, one must adapt to their habits. If you enlarge this image note the green glow on the branches? That is resurrection fern unfurled and growing after a rain… or in this case, after a very wet summer with little chance of those ferns going dormant….in which case there would be a brown fuzz outlining the limbs due to the curled ferns which cover the live oak branches

And YES, one tree is in the middle of our street. As far as I know, it is one of two such live oaks left standing in the middle of a residential street in Mobile. When I give directions to my house, I always include, "you know you have arrived if there is the oak in the middle of the road"

. But, can you believe this tree was hit by cars TWICE? It is easy to see, if you trust your eyes!!!!!
