More falling water in my galleries (www.adp-photography.com/galleries)

With waterfalls, I like to experiment with shutter speed, but recent visits to this forest under brilliant sunshine made exposure a bit of a struggle. I have no problem leaving burnt out highlights on the water, afterall, the sun on the water was completely burnt out...full detail would look very odd...but balancing between the dark gorge and brilliant spots and optimum shutter speed was really tricky. Ah well, a reason to go back on a nice easy overcast day

Taken about an hour after sunrise otherwise the sun is too low for this part of Dorset.

Beech Avenue is on the main road running from Wimborne (Kingston Lacy) entrance to Blandford.

There were originally 365 trees on one side of the road for each day of the year and 366 on the other, for a leap year, I don't know quite how many there are now but considerably less now.

Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

One more of the Barred Owls, juvenile and adult.

Thank you for viewing.

A juvenile Barred Owl being preened by the adult. Occasionally the adult would stop to look around as there were a couple of noisy jays in the area.

Thank you for viewing.

Beneath the canopy of an old tree, light dances across the water—soft, shimmering, and sacred. The branches stretch wide, casting shadows that feel less like absence and more like shelter. The sky is clear, the air still, and the moment holds its breath. It’s a scene that echoes Psalm 91:1: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” This is that place. A quiet refuge. A reminder that peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God. The tree does not speak, but it covers. The water does not stir, but it reflects. And the light, though gentle, is holy.

My latest photography is now available for purchase at crsimages.pixels.com/, featuring prints, framed art, and more from my curated collections.

This was taken last month at Wakehurst Place gardens and woodland near Haywards Heath, West Sussex. The gardens are part of the National Trust but are managed by Kew as their country gardens. I spotted this grand old tree while walking round.

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 20 mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing for HDR. Outputted in Photomatix using Tone Compression

Topaz Noiseware Pro and Clarity were was used. I also added a touch of Topaz Texture Effects with a low opacity to bring up the leaf colours a little using a mask in the program to remove the effect from the trunk. Also added a vignette.

As I was standing still watching two other juveniles this one flew in right in front of me. It was certainly exciting to watch these young owls hunting and flying tree to tree. Unfortunately it was very dark with the tree canopy and this shot was taken at 1/60 sec. and still lightened up in post editing.

Thank you for viewing.

Thank you all for the kind birthday wishes! It made my day.

Hier an einem frischen Spätsommertag im Wald – durch die Lücke im dichten Blätterdach bricht die Sonne mit voller Kraft hindurch. Ein Moment voller Licht, Leben und Energie.
