“Listen to the trees as they sway in the wind.

Their leaves are telling secrets. Their bark sings songs of olden days as it grows around the trunks. And their roots give names to all things.

Their language has been lost.

But not the gestures.”

― Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiratio

This is the cracked rough bark of an old cherry tree

The tree was standing in the garden of my father's childhood home and had to be felled when I was a teenager. I can still remember the delicious cherries and climbing the tree when I was a kid.

My father painted a view of the property on a slab of the tree and later gave it to me as a gift. It is a beautiful memento : )

Happy Macro Mondays, everyone !

(I will catch up tonight)

For many years I have walked by trees and never noticed how interesting their bark and trunks were until Looking close ... on Friday directed my attention to them. Now I can't walk by without looking at the interesting patterns and growths on the tree trunks.

Thank you for your visit! HMM!

Above and around Bergen there is untouched untouched nature. Forest and a super soft moss as far as you can see. It is best to feel this magic, not just to see this lovely place.

my entry for Macro Monday - Tree Bark...

A pine tree spreads its branches over Tyler, Texas’ Pollard Park.

Found in nature, pine bark. Ponderosa Pine. Almost like puzzle forms. Saw this on a hike in a mountain valley. Would not believe it was tree bark, till now!

A pine tree grows in the forest at Tyler State Park, Texas.

It is hard for new growth to find its way in the shadowy undergrowth of a forest. This new plant shows life next to the shelter of tree bark.

These days, that title could be completed in many different ways...

But this time, it refers to the iconic pose of a White-breasted Nuthatch, heading downward on the tree trunk.

It felt good to be back outdoors, looking for my birdie friends.
