I never considered myself a tree hugger but I do love how a little seed can grow so large and tall. Their silhouettes cast a beautiful foreground in the night sky. Taken Saturday night near a town called Mangoplah.
A splash of late autumn colour from Golden Larch trees near the carpark for the Three Black Cloughs, Longdendale
Happy Valentine's Day, dear friends! I haven't made a Valentine's Day card post in a few years, so it was time for another. 'The Heart Tree' - original photo taken in The Badlands - Porcupine, South Dakota on September 17, 2015.

The name Araucaria refers to a genus of ancient coniferous trees, though it is most often used to describe the monkey puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana), the national tree of Chile. It is one of the oldest tree species on Earth.
Scientific name: Araucaria araucana.
The tree is native to the slopes of the Andes mountains in south-central Chile and western Argentina.
"Living fossil": Araucaria has existed since the Jurassic period, over 200 million years ago, leading many to call it a "living fossil".
The leaves are thick, tough, and scale-like, with sharp, prickly edges. They are spirally arranged along the branches, which is the source of its popular nickname, the monkey puzzle tree.
Another re-edit of an image taken last year. Using silver efex pro 2 to convert to b/w and Finnish off in lightroom.
The original upload for me really made a spectacal of the fantastic light in the golden sunshine after the sun had come up.
The monochrome one i wanted to create a bit more of an atmosphere with this fantastic erie looking tree.
The title and poem below are from the hunger games but i thought added a nicely to the imagery.
If your into reading that much crap under the picture :)
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man they say murdered three
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out for his love to flee
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
Are you, Are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here,
No stranger would it be,
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
Poem from the Hunger Games

A green tree of summer at Briery Creek Wildlife Management Area in Prince Edward County, Virginia. The number of views on this photo is a big mystery to me--I have no idea where they came from or why.

Theme: Christmas tree. Our beautiful Tipuana Tipu has created yellow snow all over our backyard. We gave away our Christmas tree to a family in need so we didn't put up a Christmas tree at our house this year however, I made a makeshift one from these fallen blooms for the assignment and decorarated it with the few baubles that we had left.
