Although the reflection is a natural one, the waters of the Tar River took on a very unusual appearance, reminding me (just barely) of the Book of Kells and the tendency to leave no white space unfilled. In art this is known as horror vacui.

Was a nice sunrise at Tentsmuir Forest, but found these trees glowing in the rising sun more interesting.
We have a well known tree in our city as well. We affectionately call it the Summerfolk Tree because it stands in the centre of the annual Summerfolk Festival at Kelso Beach. Although this picture was taken last month when water levels were unusually high, tonight marks the official opening night of this year's festival. It started with a wet night. Hopefully, there will be no flooding this weekend!
"How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said."
Victor Hugo
The snowflakes were so large they almost thumped as they fell on trees, road. Trees with large branches are carrying heavy loads, being plastered with white stuff, and after today's snowfall of about 8 inches in one day, many trees look fake.

I end my safari experience in Madikwe, South Africa with this unusual tree captured at sunset. Marie, my guide, just knew I would be thrilled when i saw this unusual wild creation of nature. i am sorry to say that she didn't tell me the story behind how it was created. Maybe having it be a mystery is more appropriate for such a wild thing.
in future days, I'll start adding pictures of Mozambique and when they are completed we will return to South Africa with more safari scenes.

Trees in Anastasia Park in St. Augustine. I love how the wind from the beach has affected their growth.
I do so like to play , this is my play on this tree....
We do not quit playing because we grow old, we grow old because we quit playing.

The Sky Tree is built atop a multi level shopping and dining complex in addition to the Oshiage subway station.
At 634m it is the tallest tower in the world and the world's 2nd tallest structure.
This is the Christmas tree on Kirkfield Green, Thorner. The main street is beautifully decorated with small trees on the houses all with white lights.
Thorner is located 7 miles (11 km) to the south-west of Wetherby
The village appears in the 1086 Domesday Book as "Torneure" (also "Tornoure") means "thorn bank". The ancient parish of Thorner covered 4400 acres in the wapentake of Skyrack in the West Riding of Yorkshire
