Sela Pass

Lying at an altitude of 14000 feet above the sea level, this pass is counted amongst the high-altitude motorable passes, around the world. While driving towards Tawang, you come across Paradise Lake (or Sela Lake) that freezes in winters. Sela Pass connects Tawang Valley to the rest of the country. The pass is managed by Border Road Organization (BRO) and remains open all throughout the year. This region of eastern Himalayas is a revered one for the followers of Buddhism as the 101 lakes in and around Sela hold immense religious importance for the Buddhists.

5 BEST PLACES to VISIT in MADRID(Madrid Travel Guide, Wtravel)

Rising from the misty hills of Sintra like a dream, the Palácio da Pena glows with bold strokes of red, yellow, and gray—an architectural fairytale perched above the clouds. Its towers, crenellations, and playful curves reflect the eccentric spirit of 19th-century Romanticism, blending Gothic, Manueline, Moorish, and Renaissance influences into one exuberant whole.

From this vantage, the red turret contrasts sharply against the soft blue sky, while the lower walls seem to grow organically from the rocky slopes below. The garden’s lush greenery presses close, softening the stone with ferns and tropical plants that whisper in the Atlantic breeze. Every angle of Pena feels alive with color and story—a castle designed not for defense, but for imagination.

There’s a joy in the way light moves across its surface, revealing different textures with every minute that passes. Looking up at it, you understand why Sintra has long been called a place of magic—the meeting point between earth, sea, and dreams.

They sat there days at a time, whistling at passing senoritas.

Hadrian's Wall is a stone and turf fortification built by the Roman Empire across the width of modern-day England. Begun in AD 122, it was the third of four such fortifications built across Great Britain, the first being from the Clyde to the Forth under Agricola and the last the Antonine Wall. All three were built to prevent military raids by the Pictish tribes (ancient inhabitants of Scotland) to the north, to improve economic stability and provide peaceful conditions in the Roman province of Britannia to the south, and to mark physically the frontier of the Empire. Hadrian's Wall is the best known of the three because its physical presence remains most evident today.

The wall marked the northern limes in Britain and also the most heavily fortified border in the Empire. In addition to its use as a military fortification, it is thought that the gates through the wall would also have served as customs posts to allow trade taxation.

A significant portion of the wall still exists, particularly the mid-section, and for much of its length the wall can be followed on foot. It is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern England, where it is often known simply as the Roman Wall. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. English Heritage, a government organization in charge of managing the historic environment of England, describes it as "the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain".

Itsukushima (厳島, Itsukushima?) is an island in the Inland Sea of Japan. It is popularly known as Miyajima (宮島, Miyajima?), the Shrine Island. Itsukushima is part of the city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima Prefecture. The island was the town of Miyajima prior to the 2005 merger with Hatsukaichi.

Itsukushima is famous for the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to records, the shrine was established in the time of Empress Suiko. The warrior-courtier Taira no Kiyomori gave the shrine its present form. In 1555, Mori Motonari defeated Sue Harukata at the Battle of Miyajima. Toyotomi Hideyoshi built a large building, the Senjō-kaku, on a hill above the shrine.

I thought long and hard about what should represent me as an autoportrait without

me in the actual image. Took me the whole week to decide - and luckily I managed

it in time :) To define who I am without doing a selfie wasn't actually that hard in

retrospective - I only had to think of few of my passions :)

PS: I took the "portrait" to the next level and managed to produce a nice background

behind the stack of guides/camera. Big thanks belongs to my husband, who held it in

position for me :)
