Continuing on from my last set of shared photos, here are some black and white (and one digital color) shots from Battery Mendell, in the Marin Headlands, just across the Golden Gate Bridge. These include a view of the Point Bonita Light House (with San Francisco in the background), as well as a view of the Pacific coast line and Rodeo Beach.

I haven’t been taking as many photos lately, partially because of the extra effort it takes to shoot and develop film. I guess I am just a bit lazy. So, I’m going to pull out some shots from the summer 2019 travel adventure archives. Here’s some interesting light inside the Hotel des Invalides in Paris, France. Specifically this is where the tomb of Napoleon resides.

Modern day rock sculpture created near the Inca ruins of Chincana on Isla del Sol, overlooking Lake Titicaca. The island was one of the most important religious sites of the Inca, and the legendary birthplace of the Sun and the Moon. After putting off getting some quality square ND filters, I finally ordered some a few weeks ago, so I have been thinking about taking some long exposures, lately. As I was walking through the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park in the late afternoon, yesterday, I realized there was the perfect opportunity starring down at me. To celebrate the Park’s 150th birthday, the Parks Department installed a large Ferris wheel (the SkyStar). However, with the pandemic, its opening was delayed until, finally, this last week. So, I figured I’d come back after the sun set and grab some of the wheel all lit up! Here are some shots of the interesting patterns that emerge from the moving, lit wheel over 15 to 30 seconds. In the end, these didn’t require the new filters.

Today I ran the London Bupa 10.000 race, and compared to the marathon day the weather was just perfect for running, it was cool and even rained a tiny bit half way on the course.
Didn't do a lot of training for this race, in fact didn't train at all, it was actually the 4th time I put on my trainers since the marathon (I know ... shame on me, but after 4 months preparing for the marathon, I kept my feet up over the last month or so) but nevertheless still managed to do a humbling but rather good time :)

The next race on the calendar will be the British 10k which will happen in July, this time, I intend to do my homework and will aim for a 37:00 mins 10kms

I’ve arrived in Europe, London specifically. It looks like Big Ben is getting a face lift. Didn’t know London was becoming so Hollywood! This was, actually, starring down at me when I stepped out of the Westminster Underground station. Last time I was here (1.5 years ago) they had started work, but then it was just a small bit of scaffolding. I have a feeling it won’t be done in 8ish weeks, when I’ll be back here. I guess the lamplighters won’t be scampering up the sides to stop the clock!
