Just experimenting here. The translucent aqua has sparkles.
I think this technique would look better with gold & black, or gold & red. I'm not sure about the blue translucent.
Maize leaf showing symptoms of eyespot (Kabatiella zeae). The disease is characterized by small (1 to 4 mm), round, translucent lesions. Tan colored centers develop, surrounded by black-to-purple rings, with a yellow halo around them, thus producing the characteristic “eyespot”.
These symptoms are easily confused with physiological or genetic spots, which are noninfectious but widely observed in maize leaves. They are also similar to early Curvularia leaf spot.

These all sat on a windowsill where they got direct sun from dawn to dusk every day for the last seven months. I think it's safe to say my UV additive works pretty well. The two outer samples are translucent urethane, and the inner two are opaque urethane. The red faded out from the two tans enough to be really visible, but not so bad that they no longer look tan. They certainly didn't turn green like I thought they might. The normal colored stripe is where they were covered with black tape as a control strip. As far as I can see there's absolutely no difference in the green and black/blue resins.

I just received the Snow White Stunning Silhouettes Pin from the Disney Store (LE 300, $32.99). I ordered it on its release day, March 5, 2018, and got it nine days later. It was a surprise online only release by the Disney Store, on its ShopDisney site. There was also a Belle pin in the same series released online in December, that sold out before I could buy it.
It was mailed in a small bubble mailer, a first for one of my orders from the Disney Store. It was inside a small plastic baggie, but was otherwise not protected inside the mailer. So the backer card was bent in a corner and both pin posts were slightly bent. The front of the pin was in very good shape, but the surface of the enamel did have some slight scratches, and there was a couple of small marks in the translucent enamel. There was also some foreign matter on the face and body of Snow White, that was barely noticeable. I haven't been able to clean off those marks completely.
But the pin itself is very beautiful, and I'm very pleased with it. It is a Jumbo pin, about 3 inches high and 2 3/4 inches wide, with gold frame, red translucent window, and red glitter in the bird and bow on the frame. Snow White's face and upper body is in black silhouette, but her bow, right sleeve, apple and skirt are in red.

A layer of translucent blue (Again, testors enamel) gives the surface an iridescent quality. Id recommend tossing the nozzles these cans come with and buying nice ones at an art supply store. They spit paint everywhere and it can ruin a nice basecoat
This paint job changes color drastically in every photo with each different camera...

Astor Place, New York City. These were taken on a trip to New York that Gary, Anne and I took a month ago.
This particular building reflection caught my eye because it was so clear and because the left edge/corner of the newer building was sharp and shallow enough so that we could see through it. Also, it was dusk so there were lights on in the older building.
Thee's something about seeing the inside of a monolithic glass box from the outside that has an appeal for me. Sort of like finding out how airplanes are honeycomb structures covered with a thin skin of aluminum (or whatever material their skins are made of). Lastly, this large face of the building was facing due west, perfect for picking up the sky and fading light.

The cup is finely potted in imitation of its Ming prototype with gently flared sides, and is well-rendered around the exterior in soft translucent enamels and underglaze-blue tones to depict two cockerel-and-hen groups, each group observing their chicks foraging for food. They are divided on one side by iron-red roses growing from ornamental rocks, and the other by bamboo and lily, all between underglaze-blue double lines at the rim and a single line above the footless base.

was backlit by a setting sun giving it a warm misty glow. One thing I love
about Northern California is the crystal clear water which makes for such
great looking waves.
