„I gangat gern auf d’Kampenwand, wann i mit meiner Wamp’n kannt’.“

The Kampenwand is a 1669 m above sea level mountain peak in the Chiemgau Alps. Its summit cross is the largest in the Bavarian Alps and is visible from afar. The name is derived from its appearance: The jagged summit ridge is reminiscent of the crest on the head of a rooster.

A famous Bavarian shaking rhyme also contributes to the high degree of fame of the Kampenwand:

"I gangat gern auf d'Kampenwand, wann i mit meiner Wamp'n kannt'."

Translated for the North German flickr friends:

"I'd like to go on the Kampenwand, if I could with my fat belly."

Aasleagh (in Irish Eas Liath) is the name of an Irish waterfall in the northern Connemara. He becomes by the river Erriff (Ir. In Oirimh) fed and is shortly before the mouth of the river in the Killary fjord northeast of the place Leenaun on the border of the counties Galway and Mayo. The name decreases to the originally Irish naming Eas Liath. Eas is the waterfall and liath the colour calls grey, translates „grey waterfall“.

The Aasleagh waterfall was exact like the place Leenaun, the film scenery for the film rotated in 1990 "The Field" with Richard Harris.

Aasleagh is under the spectacles of nature Connemaras a popular photo motive for the visitors. near the waterfall Lodge, a country house from the 18th century which is pursued today by the regional fishing management as fishing lodge is Aasleagh. The waters of the Erriff are famous for her salmons.

After the Ulster cycle of the Irish mythology should have disappeared both favorite horses of the hero Cú Chulainn, Liath Macha and Dub Sainglenn, from which Linn Liaith („grey pool“) appeared and after his death again in it. – argumentative – localisation associates this place with the Eas Liath.

RECIPE FOR MAKING THE COLOUR BLUE

If you wish to make the colour blue

take a piece of sky and put it in a pot

large enough to place on the flame of the horizon.

Stir into the blue a pinch of early morning red

until it dissolves. Pour everything

into a brass bowl that has been well washed

to eliminate all of the afternoon’s impurities.

Finally, sift in a few smidgens of gold from the sand

of midday until the colour adheres to the bottom of the bowl.

To prevent the colours from separating with time,

drop a charred peach pit into the liquid.

It will disintegrate, leaving no telltale

sign, not even – from the black ash – an ochre trace

on the golden surface. You may then raise the colour

to eye level and compare it with genuine blue.

The two colours will look so alike

that you cannot distinguish one from the other.

This was how I did it – I, Abraham ben Judah Ibn Haim,

illuminator from the town of Loulé. And I left the recipe

for whoever, one day, would imitate the sky.

Probably the best known and most visited waterfall in Iceland. Gullfoss translated means "golden waterfall". It has a total height of 32 meters, which is divided into two steps ( 21 and 11 meters), where the water of the river Hvitá flows.

Title translates to "The Red Tower" located in Mellieha - Malta. This structure was built during the days of the Knights Of Malta (circa 1580) to (a) keep watch over the sea surrounding the Island , and (b) communicate with other towers located along the coast, via smoke signals in case of approaching danger. Thank you for your time to view.

Dear friends, I could get in touch with my Singaporean friend to ask her to help to translate, Now I received her reply and for this who liked to know the meaning of this sign I pasted and copied her original translation. :

"The right two panel is the name of the god, is layman addressing the God in the respected salutation. In Chinese people pray to many different gods. These two panel top horizontal word I think is referring to the origin of the god, meaning where it come from, mainly from places in china, but I am not too sure is this the name of the place in China. 3rd from the right “ silent”, 4th the last at left “Avoidance”, when god arrive, layman have to hide away, similar to emperor arrive, people must go hide themselves.“

Thank you very much for your help, Bee Aye!

The German poem "The Three Sparrows" by Christian Morgenstern (see below) dates from 1921 (Era of Expressionism).

Because of copyright, I can't simply translate the poem, but the content is about the three sparrows Erich, Franz and the "cheeky" Hans, who sit in a bare hazel bush in winter.

The poem describes in impressive atmospheric density the protection and security that the three little birds can give each other in the icy cold, with Hans, who sits in the middle, he has the warmest.

Die drei Spatzen

In einem leeren Haselstrauch

Da sitzen drei Spatzen, Bauch an Bauch.

“The word 'translation' comes, etymologically, from the Latin for 'bearing across'. Having been borne across the world, we are translated men. It is normally supposed that something always gets lost in translation; I cling, obstinately to the notion that something can also be gained.”

SMALL HOUSE

Small house, but throw a ball through it some time

and it becomes quite large. See all those metres,

aren’t they ours? And stroll perhaps as if

you don’t know where you’re going: space is

stretching out and yawns between the walls. Behold:

the wandering that binds the rooms together

has been painted white. There are some stairs,

a hat stand in the cupboard, doors. As if

by accident it lies there like a country

lane, where roads determine goal and starting

point and not the other way around. If you

go out for bread and then return you’ll see

that we can organise a picnic. Quick!

Go now! The shrinking can’t be far away.

Fjallabak Nature Reserve. - Ljótipollur Lake 20210717

Although it is nothing else, this beautiful maar or volcanic crater bears the name ugly as a name. Ljótipollur translated means ugly puddle or ugly pond. But most craters that have lakes inside them are exceptionally scenic and photogenic. Ljótipollur is no exception with its light, vegetated slopes, and visible lava layers on the rim. The maars are usually quite deep because the water originates in the groundwater below and they have no streams entering or leaving the lake, only underground. Most often craters with small lakes have this beautiful turquoise blue color that gives the crater an added value for photographers.

Gullfoss (translated to ‘Golden Falls’) is one of Iceland’s most iconic and beloved waterfalls, found in the Hvítá river canyon in south-west Iceland. The canyon walls on both sides of the waterfall reach heights of up to 70 metres (230 feet), descending into the great Gullfossgjúfur canyon. Geologists believe that this canyon was formed by glacial outbursts at the beginning of the last age.

The monument depicts Nicolaus Copernicus dressed in a professor's toga, holding an armillary sphere in his left hand and pointing to the sky with the finger of his right hand, which is supposed to indicate Copernicus's connections with astronomy and celestial research

On the pedestal on the front side there is an inscription in Latin, which when translated reads: Nicolaus Copernicus of Toruń, He Moved the Earth, Stopped the Sun and the Sky

I love this bird, I photographed it for the first time in 2017, and I returned a few times until the baby was big, close to its first flight. It always nests on the same tree.

During the nesting period, it faces torrential rain, heat, and strong sun; protect your egg and your baby bravely until the baby can fly.

It's You

Today I woke up wanting to kiss you

I have a thirst to caress you

Entangle myself with you and not let you go

You're so intoxicating

It's you

I want to gaze at you without counting the minutes

Draw you with just my memories

In my mind accentuate your lips, your kisses

You're here once again

It's you

I love seeing you, having you, embracing you

When I'm at your side

All the goodness in me

Blossoms, it's you

That magnet of beautiful energy

It's your soul that sends

Signals to my body

Because it keeps on asking for that smell of you

That invites me lying in wait

It's you

We have different plans

But you're always on my mind

Since my veins so subtly

Enjoy loving you so much

It's you, it's you

It's you

Krickenbeck Lakes / Krickenbecker Seen

"The Krickenbeck Lakes are four lakes in Nettetal on the left Lower Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia that were created by the excavation of peat bogs. They were given their current form in the period from the 16th to the 19th century through large-scale peat excavation and the supply of the small river Nette. In 1938 the area of the Krickenbeck Lakes was declared a nature reserve. [...]

The lakes are home to various ducks, gray herons, great crested grebes, rails and reed warblers, among others. In addition to water lilies, the plants here are dragon arum, orchids, king fern and Solomon's seal. Fish such as carp, pike and various types of whitefish are plentiful.

In the nature reserve there is an important ground monument from Napoleonic times, the old Northern Canal. The Northern Canal, which was never fully completed, was supposed to form a ship connection between the Meuse near Venlo and the Rhine near Neuss." (Translated from German Wikipedia entry)

(Wikipedia)

Translated from Dutch Wikipedia page about Doorwerth:

In the 1970s, newer parts were built in which an attempt was made to integrate high-rise buildings and residential houses with nature. The urban planner Van Embden made this idea concrete by creating a strict separation between living, recreation and traffic, entirely in accordance with the CIAM concept. Strips of forest have been preserved between the buildings. The streets are also not directly adjacent to the buildings, so that anyone who moves through Doorwerth is constantly walking, cycling or driving through the forest. This gives the residents the feeling of living in the forest. Unlike in an open landscape, it is not noticeable that people live in an area with a lot of human activity.
