Afectuosamente dedicada a Oscar Hevia, que tiene la fortuna de vivir en ese hermoso rincón del mundo. // Warmly devoted to Oscar Hevia, who has the fortune of living in that wonderful corner in the World.
The light spawns its silver light over the sea.
Pacified, the waves magnify the silence
of the feeble steps of the day
venturing into their habit
of increasing noises.
The skin gets over and is assuming
the splendor of the sun which already lavishes
its luxury of colors and reliefs,
the blue sea, the greedy mirror
in which the sunny sky watches itself
and in its swinging the sound of the waves
suggests a long trip to memory.
Each day renews its memory, old days
in the time unit which is the life.

"Eguzkilore" translated from Basque into German means flower of the sun (silver thistle). It is said to protect against evil spirits and is placed at the entrances of houses.
I brought the pendant back from my trip to the Basque country, from San Sebastian, and wear it on a chain.
"Eguzkilore" übersetzt aus dem Baskischen ins Deutsche bedeutet Blume der Sonne (Silberdistel). Sie soll vor bösen Geistern schützen und wird an den Eingängen der Häuser angebracht.
Ich habe mir den Anhänger von meiner Reise ins Baskenland, aus San Sebastian, mitgebracht und trage ihn an einer Kette.
Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey located in the mountains of Montserrat (translated as "saw mountain" due to the sharp peaks) in Catalonia Spain. The basilica is a Gothic structure that also uses Renaissance shapes and traditionally Catalan architecture. It was severely damaged in the 1800's and reconstructed at the end of the 19th century.
Fly across the globe got a flight to catch tomorrow
I've been in Rome next I'm flyin' to Sapporo
Look out the window of a plane and I'm in sorrow
Explore the city then i'll fly back to Toronto
I've got a layover I'm lost up in translation
The jet lag hit me in a morning couldn't face it
I took the red eye so I'm sleeping for a day man
My phone get service when
The plane touch down on pavement
Praia dos Pescadores is a beach stretching for about 225 metres in length. During low tide, it is more than 100 metres wide. It is part of one huge stretch of fine gold-coloured sand in front of Albufeira, which also encompasses Praia do Túnel, Praia do Inatel and Praia dos Alemães.
Literally, Praia dos Pescadores is translated as fisherman’s beach. Back in the days, the fishing activities were related to this beach. You could see many fishing boats here. In ancient times, the fishing boats were pulled from the water to the sand by oxes and in the 20th century by a tractor. [...]. Since the new marina was built west of the town [and all fishing activities moved there], many locals tend to call this beach simply Praia de Albufeira.
Ramasse-moi
Quand tu voudras
Ramasse-moi
Quand tu voudras
Ramasse-moi
Quand tu voudras

I will leave you words
under your door
Beneath the singing walls
Close to where your feet pass
Hidden in the holes of your sofa
And when you're alone for a moment
pick me up
when you want
pick me up
when you want
pick me up
when you want

St. Nikolai, Greifswald
"With its almost 100 meter high tower, the medieval brick Gothic church towers over the Hanseatic city of Greifswald. From its viewing gallery you have an impressive view over the old town to the island of Rügen. [...]
Church construction began as early as the middle of the 13th century and the hall church was enlarged to a basilica during the construction period in the 14th century. In 1456 the Greifswald University was founded in the church. [...]
As in many northern German cities, the Gothic brick church bears the name of Saint Nicholas of Myra (around 285 - around 350), who was very popular as the patron saint of seafarers and merchants in the Middle Ages."
(translated from www.dom-greifswald.de)
Ben Ledi was once mistakenly translated from Gaelic by a local minister of the parish as 'the mountain of God'. It actually means 'hill of the long shoulder' which will probably make sense to anyone who's been up it.
The hill is a little under 3000 feet so too small to be a Munro, but it's a more challenging walk than some Munros due to steep stages near the start and to get onto the shoulder for the easier final section.
This shot was taken just below the top, where there were stunning views on this particular day. Patches of mist and low cloud dotted the hillside and the surrounding landscape, and from the cairn the sun could be seen shining on a beautiful cloud inversion to the west stretching as far as the horizon.

This is independent and multidisciplinary artist Awilda Sterling Duprey from San Juan, Puerto Rico performing her series Blindfolded at NXTHVN in New Haven, Connecticut. In this performance, Sterling Duprey allowed her body to feel and translate live jazz music into rhythmic bodily movements articulated into bright pastel markings, lines, and textures onto black construction paper.
There were six talented local jazz musicians performing who could not see her movements while they played, and of course she couldn't see them as she worked.
Title translates as "Creature in Seattle", like those old word puzzles. Open to suggestions on what would make a good title for this one. The mix of curve, straight, line, block, texture, and "Red White & Blue" caught my eye here. The bottom of the wires can be seen in the top center of the previous post.

The Danish name Færøerne translates as "the islands of sheep". In Faroese, the name appears as Føroyar. So what is more Faroese than some sheep laying at peace, looking at the horizon.
The view from Kalsoy is amazing, you have to trekk (and earn it) to get it. The wonderful light was just a gift.
