The end of one miracle, the beginning of another, life to death, death to life in one small picture.
And still we dance 💃🎼
We are in that time period of transitions again. It could feel like spring one day and then we get hit with another blast of winter weather. We have to make decisions like when to take the snow tires off or put the winter jackets away. This scene was taken taken a couple of weeks ago but that doesn’t mean March won’t go out like a Lion. In this image, I like the juxtaposition of the line of trees on the right and the wood telephone poles on the left. We all transition to something else in our lives.
I really like the transitional colors here, from the lighter blues at the top to the darker ones at the bottom.
I got my second Pfizer vaccine dose last weekend so I am also looking forward to the transition back to a more normal life. I had no reaction at all to the first dose. For the second dose I experienced a small bit of pain at the injection site followed by a very mild next morning headache and a slight feeling of less energy than normal the day after the shot, but that was it. The public health people here set up a nice vaccination clinic at the site of an old-no-longer-in-use library downtown and they were pretty efficiently running lots of people through there.

I had a different edit of this up, but I looked at it and reeeally didn't like it. So I played around with different editing techniques. So yeah. I like it now. :D

The leaves are gone and the wind is blowing in the first snow...
Die Blätter sind abgefallen und der WInd bläst den ersten Schnee herein...
Quand l'automne prend en otage les feuillages pour nous donner les couleurs les plus flamboyante avant de nous abandonner à l'hiver :-)
When autumn takes the foliage hostage to give us the most flamboyant colors before abandoning us to winter :-)
In many Native American cultures an albino deer is believed to be a spirit that has transformed into an animal after its life as a human. A piebald deer however, is considered to be a spirit that is in transition between our world and the next, either coming or going. In this state it's most vulnerable, and as such the killing of either an albino or piebald deer is forbidden in many cultures, or the guilty party's life will soon be forfeit and, as legend has it, their soul taken by the deer.

This Buck is one of my very best deer buddies. I have been taking pictures of him since he was very little. He is a big six pointer now, his rack is stately with long tines www.flickr.com/photos/rabbit-rabbit/51694950470/in/dateta... . I haven't seen him now in almost three months. I asked at the park if they knew if something had happened to him, and the person I spoke with said, "No someone saw him just last week, he's just fine." I was relieved. But, now it's about ten days later. I think they might have been told wrong. I have covered all of the stands there and their prominent social areas repeatedly. I have seen all my other buddies, Scaredy Cat, Crybaby, Spaceman, Of Sevens and Eights, Azazel, ... but I have not seen Pie. I know that some years ago He had something on his abdomen, and if you look close now it looks like there is a wound there that has healed. I read that Piebalds often have organ abnormalities. I hope that he is okay, and maybe has just moved on down the river to greener pastures ... But, I hate to say, I think that is wishful thinking. I can't see him, or any of the others, leaving Bdote. I hope I'm wrong.
Autumn colours in the snow with Thorpe Cloud beyond
Takne on the first day of snow. I'd walked here from my home in Ashbourne
The summer tanager has not yet reached its heights of beauty but still displays a fine array of color
When does autumn end and winter start? Aside from what the calendar dictates, I think a good indicator for winter here is when the trees have lost their leaves and are covered in snow.
Watercolour and ink on 140 lb. Arches, C.P. I painted this again to complete my set of four Transitions paintings ( I had sold the first one). This is the same format as the earlier version but each poppy is slightly different. To my surprise and delight I sold this one yesterday before I had a chance to frame it. I guess poppies really do evoke strong emotions in many of us. My quandry now is, do I paint another or is that overkill?

A blustery November gray day still allows the late Fall season’s colors to shine through as seen here on Lake Josephine
