Transformation Tuesday? Standard Signal Company mechanical dwarf has gotten a new GRS Spec with new lenses, still on the fence with the long porcelain blade that needs to be restored but for now it sports an unpainted rubber blade and has a GRS lamp. Now sits inside next to my US&S mechanical dwarf from Ohio.

I decided to change his eyes to a darker blue, so I ordered blue-gray Glastic eyes. These are pretty, but not a darker blue than his original eyes, so I ordered dark gray eyes to try next. Unfortunately, the heat from the dryer required to remove the wig to get to the eyes made his original wig frizzy, and there is now a "cow lick" in front, so I ordered another wig, hopefully in a similar color and style. Eventually, he will be put back together again. Meanwhile, he is hanging out in his new whitey-tighties and socks from Kathy, and a new white shirt from another eBay seller. Oh yeah, and a hat from Build a Bear, which is a little too big.

While I was at the zoo, standing under a Maple Tree with it's leaves turning from green to yellow. without looking thru the viewfinder, I just aimed up and shot.
My Silver Maple Tree at home usually turns bright yellow but this year, nothing but dead brown leaves
This shot I took aim at the leaves changing from green to yellow

I am finally getting a flickr...about time.
I have never been good at blogging because it doesn't involve pictures.
For me, words aren't sufficient sometimes.
I had some time between professional engagements, and decided to visit the National Gallery of Canada. I was not disappointed.
This transformation mask was created by Marven Tallio, and reflects the traditions of the Nuxalk and Heiltsuk First Nations of Canada's Pacific coast.
Transformation masks have an important place in the spiritual and cultural ceremonies of many Pacific First Nations. They are perhaps best-known for their use during the potlatch, a gift-giving high feast employed to mark important occasions or diplomatic initiatives.
Canada's federal government banned the potlatch from 1848 until 1951. I understand that in recent years, there has been a resurgence in potlatches, as First Nations reclaim and reassert their heritage.
