Today I went up to Manchester, New Hampshire where my paintings and drawings of mountains have been on display since mid-January. This was my first chance to see how the art looked hung on the wall. This is a photo that I took with my phone cam of part of the show. These little drawings were once an acrylic painting, but I cut it up and made nine small landscapes with conte crayon. I call them transformational drawings, and for this show I had them hung in a row, as they appear in this photo.

As Network Transformation Challenges systems administration merchants discharge new items at quicker rate, it is almost difficult to gain admittance to all variations of equipment gadgets to make confirmation of idea and demo situations. The Transformation ...

Looking back now, I can be honest to myself. I listened to the good songs, followed the politics (or counter-politics) of the day, lived the social norms. I was bright, had a lot of success and I felt like I was a good person; heck, a lot of people told me I was a good person, a really nice guy. I didn't think about the emptiness, unless there was a tragedy, and I could always blame something/someone else for my misfortune. Now, I think about all the people I've hurt, sinned against and not treated as I want to be treated. It was all about me being self-centered and not thinking or caring about the other person. "They hurt me first!" or "I didn't want to hurt them, it just happened," was what I told myself. "It wasn't my fault," I could justify, "that's just the way it turned out."

I was living in darkness, focused on myself instead of loving my neighbor as myself. I wanted to be accepted, acceptable ... one of the doers and shakers ... and I found that, even with all of that, I had very little real to offer to someone who was truly hurting. I'd mouth some nice words, but I couldn't really do anything that would help transform their pain, maybe ease it a lot or a little, but not transform their lives. For this, I truly repent; I was like a brute animal, full of strength but so little or no wisdom. I felt I was owed a good life, after all; this is America, and if we just worked hard enough ...!

I was conformed to the world, and little did I realize the poison I was taking and spreading. As I've been on my walk knowing I have a Savior, I still screw it up ... my training in being what I was is hard to overcome! I had it "pretty good" in worldly terms, and that is hard training to overcome. I've learned that accolades from the world are empty; they change over time, and there are always people younger who have what I had, or more. My accolades were put on the dusty shelf of yesterday.

I've learned to follow the promises made by God to all His children that help me to become transformed. I can't promise you things will be easy, because for almost all of us, they won't. After all, we crucified Jesus because He wanted all of us to be saved from deception, disease, pain ... and not being close with our Creator. I've learned to rely on something greater than myself, and have discovered a peace in my life that surpasses anything I believed possible; and, it's not about me. It's about we.

Paul helped me learn that I could be transformed by relying on the Word of God, that something greater than any person, place or thing loved me; nothing could separate me from Him. No angel, not hot body, no country ... nothing. So, I've learned to clean toilets and be thankful. I've learned to trim trees and bushes and see His beauty in them. I've learned to capture images of this creation and give Him praise and glory, and to worship Him during trials and tribulations, as well as time of happiness. I've learned at all time to have joy, because He is working in me.

I'll be adding verses as the spirit fills my heart; at this time, during these turbulent times, I just wanted to share with you a personal transformation that transcends the created ... to the Creator.
