Taken in Switzerland over the New year. This is Zurich train station and I loved the old style architecture. Reminds me a little of the Famous New York Central Station image (without the light rays)...

I used a slow shutter speed to try and blur the people walking around creat some movement. It was handheld so a bit tricky to keep the building sharp, but this shot I think looks ok.

No textures were used in the making of this image!!

According to the Interweb:-

A trackless train, road train, land train, parking lot tram, Dotto train or Choo-Choo train — is a road-going articulated vehicle used for the transport of passengers, comprising a driving vehicle pulling one or more carriages connected by drawbar couplings, in the manner of a road-going railway train.

I'm unsure why they are commonly known as Dotto trains?

Train ride from Cedar Park Depot.

"He Who Smelt it Dealt It" is the calling card of CSX R409, hauling New York City's trash in containers along the Eastern Seaboard, thrilling all along the way with the many exotic smells of the Big Apple as it makes its way to a landfill somewhere in the Deep Confederacy where that kind of filth belongs.

Here, the Stink Train was nabbed crossing the Jones Falls overpass with an eclectic CSX motive power consist. In the distance can be seen several buildings of the World Famous Johns Hopkins University Hospital System, located within some of Bodymore, Murderland's safest real estate. Bring your Body Armor and Come Visit Charm City!

Come for the Trash, stay because you were murdered.

The old train station in Mendoza, Argentina. A relict from the days where the train was the most important way to travel around and to carry the wine to Buenos Aires and other places.

One of the trains you can ride around the park to get to three different areas (Scotland, Italy, and New Canada) if you want to keep from walking as much.

Since BGW goes for an old-world, European vibe, I added in a sepia B&W layer in PS, and painted/masked out (by colors on the train first then around the whole train including a bit of the trees) with dry fan brush (20-40% flow and opacity) to give the image more of a colorized photograph feel to it. Then framed with a "film frame" by Filter Forge.

I first heard of Auto-Train while paging through a recent guide to all Amtrak routes. I figured this card pre-dated Amtrak--the cute outfit at bottom left might be pre-1971--but wondered why no railroad was named. I learned it was the privately-owned Auto-Train Corporation, operating on the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac tracks. The corporation lasted until 1981, and Amtrak didn't take over this service until 1983.

Back of card:

The Auto-Train carries passengers and their automobiles on the same train between suburban Washington, D.C. and sunny Florida.

Passengers travel in luxurious coach lounge cars and enjoy complimentary meals and entertainment while their automobiles are transported in fully enclosed auto-carriers.

For reservations and information, phone toll free [xxx]...in Florida, call [xxx].

Train stration Tumangan, North Korea, border to Russia. Entering North KJorea by train from Russia at the borderpoint Khasan/Tumangan is officially not allowed for tourists, we (a friend of mine from Switzerland and I) did it nevertheless.

After the border formalities were finished, we could freely walk around and take photos at Tumangan station. Nobody prevented us from that.

Glasgow Queen Street Station

The Glasgow–Edinburgh via Falkirk line is a mainline railway line linking Glasgow and Edinburgh via Falkirk in Scotland. It is the principal route out of the five rail links between Scotland's two biggest cities, hosting the flagship "Shuttle" service between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley. A typical service calls at Glasgow Queen Street, Croy, Falkirk High, Haymarket and Edinburgh or Glasgow Queen Street, Falkirk High, Polmont, Linlithgow, Haymarket and Edinburgh.

Passenger services are operated by Abellio ScotRail. The line is electrified. The "(Glasgow Queen Street-Edinburgh Haymarket) Shuttle" weekday day time service pattern sees a train every 15 minutes from Glasgow/Edinburgh. All trains stop at Falkirk High and Haymarket, with selected trains stopping at Croy, Polmont and Linlithgow.

Another suprise train find! I was just walking to get some coffee and along came the Northstar Commuter train on a rail test. Locomotive and 4 cars. Came through quickly and quietly.
