Pelican Passage, just off Cambridge Heath Road. The marker is dated 1863 and is inscribed "St. M B G", which probably refers to St Matthew's Bethnal Green.

The Woolworths in Bethnal Green Road is soon to become an Iceland. The sign gives notice to anyone thinking of entering that this is a construction site, so on your head be it (if you're not wearing a safety helmet, that is).

the Jammie Masjid started life as a Hugenot (French Protestant) chapel. It later became a Jewish Synagogue and is now an Islamic mosque, reflecting the waves of immigration to the area. It is also believed to be the only building outside the Middle East that has served as a place of worship for all three of the major monotheistic religions
