Studying antique perfume bottles, I was struck by the amount of history each piece represented. If only antiques could speak. Think of all the stories they could share about past owners. This geometric bottle kept reflecting back the sunlight, so knew I'd enjoy investigating its potential as a photographic subject. It did not disappoint me!

A tiny azalea flower looks very touching and defenseless on a bare branch.
Rhododendron mucronulatum, the Korean rhododendron or Korean rosebay. Ericaceae family.
A rhododendron species native to Korea, Mongolia and parts of northern China.
The reddish-purple flowers appear in late winter or early spring, often on the bare branches before the foliage unfurls.
The Latin specific epithet mucronulatum means "sharply pointed", referring to the leaf shape.
