A variation to my original L-motor frame that has been lengthened in order to: 1) accommodate a 16t/24t gear ratio for more pulling power, 2) allow 6 xL wheels with 1 stud spacing, and 3) allow 6 L wheels with 2 stud spacing.

Se o torques - e algún diadema - responde a unha clara tradición indíxena, outras xoias mostran deseños e técnicas que remiten ó Mediterráneo. É o caso das arracadas, que nas súas diferentes variantes ofrecen como trazo común un extraordinario virtuosismo técnico.
Na maior parte da ourivería do momento percíbese o desexo de ostentación, ben no gusto pola profusión decorativa, ben no emprego frecuente das aliaxes pobres e, mesmo, dos dourados.
There are threaded holes for two of these but only one is present. It’s not a big problem as long as that one stays in, because the screws do not bear the torque load from rewinding.
In case you’re planning to make one: the thread size is 1.4mm, 1.5mm long. The head is 1.6mm in diameter to fit in a 1.7mm clearance hole, and 1.5mm tall for a total overall length of 3mm. The screw heads are the pivot axis for the folding handle but the torque load is taken by the flat side walls of the handle rather than the screw heads. A smaller diameter than 1.6mm will work.

Nash's and later AMC's top of the line model, the Ambassador, was only slightly more than mid-sized by the standards of the day. It was "almost" a luxury car at a bargain price. The mechanics were somewhat dated, including a trunnion type front suspension, torque-tube drive shaft and vacuum operated wipers. Surprisingly, though, AMC was the first mass produced U.S. car to utilize a dual braking system, beginning in the early 1960s. In spite of its technological shortcomings, the car was quiet and had a smooth, pleasant ride. Ambassador was the last of the old Nash nameplates to be dropped from AMC's lineup, surviving through the 1974 model year. After that, the largest model was the midsized Matador and even that one only lasted through 1978.
I may have incorrectly applied the name "Rambler" to this model. It originated with the Nash Rambler, the smaller model of the 1950s or perhaps earlier. Through the late 50s, the Rambler name referred to the mid-line "10 series" model, later called the Classic. Through most of the 60s, all the American Motors cars were Ramblers, e.g. Rambler American, Rambler Classic, etc. In 1968-9, the smaller "01 series" Rambler American became the AMC Rambler until the Hornet replaced it in 1970 and the name was dropped altogether.

Even though Tomica is still the favoured choice to be copied by cheapo obscure Chinese toy makers, it appears Matchbox has been a big target too recently. Surprisingly it has been mainly their generic castings which have been copied, vehicles such as the 2007 Fire Engine and Desert Thunder V16. I'm not entirely sure why anyone would want to copy the Matchbox Torque Titan but here is Tian Hong Toys version. Actually a fairly solid looking casting let down mainly by poor looking Police graphics. Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
I spotted this very old Norbar 'Industrial' 5R at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The 'Industrial' wrench has a unique feature amongst high capacity wrenches. The mechanism 'breaks' through about 20 degrees giving the operator plenty of time to check their momentum. The result - more accurately tightened bolts.
Ending 2014's Coffeeneuring Challenge on a high note: going to Vancouver, Washington! Coffee at Torque along with post-coffee beer at Loowit Brewing and post-coffee-beer wine at Niche. About 18 miles round-trip.

British automaker details V12 Vanquish convertible, which churns 509 horsepower, comes standard with stickshift and costs $233,340.
Aston Martin has dropped the details of its new V12 Vantage roadster, and the news is good. The new convertible will boast 509 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque from Aston's signature 6-liter engine.
The roadster shares many of the technical features and specifications from the hardtop version, though some elements had to be changed to accommodate the folding soft top. Among those changes are a redesigned trunk lid with a more pronounced lip for stability at speed and a lower front air intake.
At 3,880 pounds, the V12 Vantage roadster comes in at about 180 pounds heavier than the hardtop.

Under the sheet metal, the V12 Vantage roadster has a modified rear damper setup, new front and rear damper tuning and a new rear-spring design. Aston Martin says that these changes, along with the use of Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, ensure that the roadster will handle and drive per Aston tradition.
Outside, the Vantage roadster makes liberal use of carbon-fiber accents on the side strakes, front splitter, rear diffuser, mirror caps and rear lamp surrounds. It also boasts a set of newly designed forged-alloy wheels inside 19-inch tires.
Occupants of the cabin will see new glass switches in the lower center stack, as well as carbon-fiber accents around the fascia and the stick shift.
That's right – stick shift. Buyers will be able to row their own gears in the V12 roadster, as it comes standard with the company's oversized shifter and rear-mounted gearbox which helps manage weight balance. A limited-slip differential is also standard, enabling the car to get from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds, on its way to a terminal velocity of 190 mph.
Also new to the V12 Vantage and Vantage roadster is the engine's sport button, which is said to offer sharper throttle response, with the engine delivering more torque early in the rev range. Exhaust flaps are also kept open longer, creating the sporty sound for which Astons are known.
In normal mode, the car has a more relaxed throttle response and a quieter exhaust note, as if someone would want that.
Prices will start at $233,340, converted from British pounds, so get that piggy bank out and start rolling quarters.
