This poem by H. F. Gould appears in the book "The Poetry of Flowers"
Down in my solitude under the snow,
Where nothing cheering can reach me;
Here, without light to see how to grow,
I’ll trust to nature to teach me.
I will not despair–nor be idle, nor frown,
Locked in so gloomy a dwelling;
My leaves shall run up, and my roots shall run down,
While the bud in my bosom is swelling.
Soon as the frost will get out of my bed,
From this cold dungeon to free me,
I will peer up with my little bright head,
And all will be joyful to see me.
Then from my heart will young petals diverge,
As rays of the sun from their focus;
I from the darkness of earth shall emerge,
A happy and beautiful Crocus!
Many, perhaps, from so simple a flower,
This little lesson may borrow,
Patient today, through its gloomiest hour,
We come out the brighter tomorrow.

With every dark night, there is a brighter day.

The photo that i was all super excited to post the other day didn't happen, sadly.
It was just

too.
cold.
I'm hoping to shoot that one tomorrow, so stay tuned for that and some exciting news!
For all of you who are familiar with her work, this is clearly inspired by ginaballerina.
Just out of focus but the daffodil is up. Sorry I can't hold them back any longer :)
Just after midnight and time I was asleep. See you tomorrow.
I am used to waking up to dense low fog in the Bay Area but I did not expect to find fog out in the southwest. For a second morning during our winter trip to the southwest low fog graced the desert landscape after a combination of colder nights and showers combined for prime foggy conditions.
During this last morning before heading home Alan and I were a bit hesitant to get up for a sunrise shoot as visibility was extremely poor. Despite the odds against us we figured we’d give it a shot in hopes of a break in the fog to reveal a potential sky burn. Once we arrived at our scouted sunrise spot we could not see the canyon at all. We waited and waited until suddenly bits of the canyon began coming into view. All of a sudden a gap opened up in the fog and revealed most of the canyon. In that several minute window the sky also burned revealing a rare combination of low fog and high cloud burn. Just after a few frame captures the fog rolled back in and the scene was back to thick pea soup.

Thank you for all of flickr friends visiting on my photostream and I wish you a Happy New Year!
I've been looking for this place for ages both on foot and online. I never like to ask where places such as this are to people who've been so I kept up the search. A picture from here came up on my feed which had a screenshot in the comments as to it's exact location. 30 seconds from the car, over a fence and down a muddy slope. Happy days.
I drove an hour from home, to a beautiful location in the Peak District just to drop into a rather smelly hole in the ground. I thought it was just the smell of nature but upon my exit I discovered someone had been down there and relieved themselves. Either that or the drains man who was in the car park on my exit was there to fix a problem with the sewers. Fingers crossed the former as my tripod and feet were submerged in the flow for about half an hour. If there is no upload tomorrow you'll know why.
5 shot polarised bracket, stacked in Lightroom as the difference in brightness from outside to in was massive.
A great little spot despite the aroma.
I'm off to clean my tripod.
There'll be no laughter
There'll be no tears
When tomorrow never comes

Tomorrow is Saint Valentine's Day and i just got my Heart Nebula data processed and edited. First time using a dual-band pass filter and was excited to see what my OSC astro camera could capture, turned out pretty good altough the integration time was only 4hrs 30min.

To say the view here is amazing is an understatement. This is hands down the best view of the Colorado River winding its way through the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Nothing says you're small and insignificant as when you stand before this magnificent overlook.

20 seconds and it's a vague memory.....10 seconds and the next picture was the best since the last one......5 seconds and it's a favourite, but 30 seconds and we might just remember it tomorrow.
The Korean people are stressed out because of the crazy president.
However,
let's take a break for a while.
The New Year's holiday begins tomorrow in Korea.
A friend who lives in the US sent me some film.
Tomorrow, I decided to go out into the middle of the chaotic city to take pictures.

In Maybe Tomorrow's enigmatic grace,
Embark on journeys through Franco's embrace.
Its gardens bewitch, a sanctuary rare,
Where wanderers delve, lost in its snare.
A haven for solace, yet gatherings bloom,
Romantic hideaways, amid floral perfume.
Whispers of love in the air do abound,
Eternal secrets in the garden's surround.
Prepare for an odyssey, memories entwine,
Each moment a canvas, passions divine.
In Maybe Tomorrow, where dreams take flight,
Beauty and passion, forever alight.
