It's been a while since I've "kaleidoscoped" an image, but this interior image of the modern roof of St. Matthäus-Kirche (St. Matthew church) at Berlin's Kulturforum lent itself to this type of processing because the single image is ever so slightly awry and not exactly centered. This is the most simple type of kaleidoscoping, I've only copied the image to a new layer, flipped both layers, and put them back together as a single image; finishing "this and that"-touches in LR, done.
St. Matthew is the only historical building left in this part of Berlin's Tiergarten district. The church building was constructed as a three-nave by Friedrich August Stüler, an exalted Prussian building official and one of the most important architects of his time. St. Matthew was inaugurated in 1846. Today, St. Matthew church is part of the so-called Kulturforum (Cultural Forum) that also houses the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery), The Berliner Philharmonie, the Kammermusiksaal (Chamber Music Hall), and several museums.
In 1931, Lutheran theologist Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was a member of the Bekennende Kirche (Confessing Church) and a resistance fighter against the Nazi regime (he was murdered at concentration camp Flossenbürg only one month before the end of World War II), was ordained as St. Matthew's parson. Later, the Nazis planned to take down St. Matthew and rebuild it in Spandau because it was in the way of their megalomaniac plans to remodel Berlin as the so-called "Welthauptstadt Germania" (World Capital Germania). As a part of those plans, most of the local residential development had been taken down already before WWII. Allied bombings in WWII's last years finally foiled those plans but also left St. Matthew heavily damaged. After the war, only the church building's exterior was reconstructed true to the original, while the interior was rebuilt in an unpretentious, modern way.
Happy Sliders Sunday, everyone, and I wish you a great new week ahead!
A rare glimpse of the sun today and while the clouds closed back in by the time of the actual sunset over Lake Michigan, for a while the sky seemed to say it will all be better tomorrow.
Please enjoy the promising light in Large. Thank you so much for your visit!
The Festival Of Ligths is over again! Oh, what a shame I would have liked to have photographed one or the other. A shame and that as a Berliner. I'll blame it on the non-existent time!
The Festival of Ligths! The theme this year was “creating tomorrow”
It is about topics like sustainability, future, science, humanity and diversity. Here you can see Potsdamer Platz.

Perdonami dell’immenso dolore ch’io ti
Addio mia mamma amata, addio mia sorella cara,
addio padre mio.
Se muoio, muoio coi vostri nomi amatissimi sulle labbra,
davanti al nostro Carso selvaggio“.

"Tomba del Milite Ignoto"
"Tombe du Soldat inconnu".
Think about it, pensiamoci, pensez-y.
While technically not until tomorrow, it is tomorrow somewhere and I liked the continuity.

Tomorrow is the #MRSL2020 Grand Finale and I can’t believe it! It feels like a long time coming, but so fast at the same time!
And. What. A. Journey. It. Has. Been. I am probably the happiest I’ve ever been living my Second Life during these past months competing. Never been this creatively challenged & pushed to be better every single time. And coming with zero experience makes it that much more thrilling for me to see & compare where I am now. Who would’ve thought that CHASE could be an actual blogger, taking fancy pictures and walking down runways in fancy clothes?! *AND* I made such amazing friends along the way! All thanks to this competition and MISS SL Organization
As cliche as it may sound, for me, this really does show that if you open yourself up to new challenges, new people and allow yourself to learn from them, you really are able to GROW. So whatever the result, it really becomes secondary to just that. A crown to go with it will be icing on the tastiest ice cream peanut butter cake in the tri-state area 😋
So wish me luck guys! The photo is a recap of all my looks, BUT, we’re gonna be presenting 3 more in the finale: National Costume, Swimwear (uuulala) & Formalwear! GET EXCITED YALL 🔥🙈🙌 SATURDAY 10am SLT ❤️💕

Just stopping by quickly to say "Hi" to everyone! I am going to be busy over the next few weeks packing up my apartment and moving. I am excited to be going back home to Loudoun County, and even more excited to be starting the next chapter in my life with someone I love VERY much.
I will be around here and there, and I promise I will have a ton of new stuff to post when I get back. Take care and keep shooting!!!
Oh, I hope everyone is going to be taking part in the 2016 Worldwide Photowalk!! I will be walking!! :-D
And then the night dripped in and the mist slowly drifted down from the mountains into the depths. I dreamt of an unknown tomorrow...

Although the horizon in this triptych is a bit of a failure, I have to say that I like it very much, because it captures the atmosphere that this special place on Achilles exuded...

Song by Duran Duran
Lyrics
Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly
I turned on the lights, the TV, and the radio
Still, I can't escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is the life that I recognize?
(Gone away)
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Passion or coincidence
Once prompted you to say
"Pride will tear us both apart"
Well now pride's gone out the window
Cross the rooftops
Run away
Left me in the vacuum of my heart
What is happening to me?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is my friend when I need you most?
(Gone away)
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ah-ah
Oh, yeah, oh
Papers in the roadside
Tell of suffering and greed
Fear today, forgot tomorrow
Ooh, here besides the news
Of holy war and holy need
Ours is just a little sorrowed talk
And I don't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Every world
Is my world (I will learn to survive)
Any world
Is my world (I will learn to survive)
Any world
Is my world
Every world
Is my world
56078 has turned at Ayr and heads north to Prestwick with the 6R46 0633 Grangemouth Ineos to Prestwick aviation fuel working.
The 1969 Riverside flats dominate the view over the River Ayr but not for much longer. The early stages of demolition were already underway adding to the somewhat bleak atmosphere.

Summer don't know me no more
He got mad, tiresome
Summer don't know me
He'd just let me low in myself
'Cause I do know love
From you then
Just dying
I saw that day
Lost my mind
Lord, I'm fine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
Don't stop the bud when it comes
It's the dawn, you'll see
Money won't get there
Ten years passed tonight
You'll flee
If you do that
I'll be sworn
To find you
I saw that day
Lost my mind
Lord, I'm fine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
I saw that day
Lost my mind
Lord, I'm fine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
Maybe in time
You'll want to be mine
Zeit löst sich auf ...
übrig bleibt
das Sein in diesem Moment ...
wo sich Gestern und Morgen treffen ...
immer wieder ...
in diesem einen Moment
von unendlichen Momenten ...
wo das Leben passiert ...
Time dissolves ...
remains
Being in this moment ...
where yesterday and tomorrow meet ...
again and again ...
in this one moment
of infinite moments ...
where life happens ...
Track :"Memory of tomorrow" from the album "A world away"
My first view of the Avenue of the Volcanoes at 6:52 am (a 4h58m climb) from the Refugio (Hut).
There are several volcanoes, but the most striking are the Chimborazo on your right (I will climb it tomorrow), the highest in the world and Cotopaxi, the second highest volcano in Ecuador (I climbed it in the first 24 hours).
***
Climbing an active volcano is complicated.
The crater is just below me. It took years for the Ecuadorian government to release climbing permits.
Me knowing the risks and signing the papers. It is a great pleasure for Pachamama to accept me, agradiseyki.
