There’s a voice that keeps on calling me

Down the road is where I’ll always be

Every stop I make, I’ll make a new friend

Can’t stay for long, just turn around and I’m gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I’ll want to settle down,

Until tomorrow, I’ll just keep moving on.

EDGE OF TOMORROW

Dedicated to my Husband

We know we have

Lived on the edges

We know that this

Day might have to come

But don’t leave me yet

Not when there is still

Light in the day not yet gone

Don’t waste a moment

Don’t ever give time away

Not when you still

Have things left to say

You know I will always come here

Where the land sings like a song

Better than the silence

Of the dead halls of home

The light here shines

As if pure love is the air

Which nourishes your soul

And lessens the despair

I will reach through the barrier

And I will tear down the veil

On the edges of tomorrow

I will find you again

Seek the words in the wind

And capture the truth

Place them together

For all those that feel the same

So I am back after a difficult time, where the cold I thought I had because I got soaked in the rain, actually turned out to be Covid. I think I had been incubating this for a while before. Two days after me, my partner became very ill with it as well. We think we caught it at the same time, when we were out shopping. To jump forward a few weeks as we do not need to go over the experience of having Covid, many know to their cost what this is like, even if you have had the vaccinations, which we had, but suffice it to say here, my partner became very ill indeed, and because of my country’s depleted health system, and the age of my partner, I was starting to think I might have to make some difficult choices.

But thankfully, somehow, with me on twenty-four hour watch for three days and my partner’s resilience, and I think we can say here, that our love for each other, and the wish to remain with each other for as long as we can, helped my partner pull through. We are still recovering, but getting better each day.

I am talking about this because this work, and the work that follows it, is directly influenced by what we have both been through. The work that I have produced already on Flickr is what I experience, what you see on my Flickr page is the result of events in my life. It is a personal exploration, but it is one where others find a similar truth, a recognition, and the fact that I share these works with you means that I am telling others that I understand about the often emotional events in your life.

But this piece, I have dedicated to my husband, and to the God who gave us a little more time.

This image was taken at Glynde Church, East Sussex, UK, before we fell ill, at the beginning of October. This place, as many of you know, is one of my most favourite places to be on earth. It connects me with the divine. And I shall be returning to it as soon as I can.

When I was working on these new pieces, I listened to the music of U2. They are a personal favourite of mine, as I grew up with their music. Bono’s lyrics are poetic. Beautiful. He has always been an inspiration to me.

So with this work, I am pairing it with their track ‘Kite’, as this is what I was listening to when I was writing my poetry and concentrating on my image. This version is live, and sublime.

This Is the day... one of these days.

Or maybe tomorrow... above the clouds.

Autumn blew its leaves at me threatening winter as I walked. Summer always goes by so fast, it barely stops like my thoughts that sink and turn and change so fast. Above the clouds what's to be found, Ihave to wonder, will I be around as my anger shouts at my own self doubt? So a sadness creeps into my dreams, when you're scared of living... but afraid to die.

Greetings from Viti Levu island, Fiji, my final night in the South Pacific, heading inbound towards home tomorrow night.

Its my wedding anniversary tomorrow and i thought I would celebrate by posting a photograph of a recently married couple, who like myself (many years ago ) are starting on a journey. One that I have loved and still love.

While taking this, I was stopped by Disney security for "taking too many photos of the same thing". Once I showed him my Polaroids and explained what I was doing the officer went from being very formal and tense to pretty relaxed and intrigued by the photos. Polaroids have that effect.

Incoming of the Swallow Folks, I think this one should have been the first in the series, mad a mistake and you bwill see why tomorrow.

By tomorrow we'll be swimming with the fishes

Leave our troubles on the sand.

And when the sun comes up,

we'll be nothing but dust,

just the outlines of our hands.

By tomorrow we'll be lost amongst the leaves,

in a wind that chills the skeletons of trees,

and when the moon, it shines, I will leave two lines.

Just find my love, then find me.

But don't bring tomorrow,

'cause I already know...

... I'll lose you...

Don't bring tomorrow,

'cause I already know...

... I'll lose...

... I'll lose you...

By tomorrow I'll be left in the darkness,

amongst your cold sheets.

and your shoes will be gone,

and your body warmth no longer beside me.

It's been a while since I've "kaleidoscoped" an image, but this interior image of the modern roof of St. Matthäus-Kirche (St. Matthew church) at Berlin's Kulturforum lent itself to this type of processing because the single image is ever so slightly awry and not exactly centered. This is the most simple type of kaleidoscoping, I've only copied the image to a new layer, flipped both layers, and put them back together as a single image; finishing "this and that"-touches in LR, done.

St. Matthew is the only historical building left in this part of Berlin's Tiergarten district. The church building was constructed as a three-nave by Friedrich August Stüler, an exalted Prussian building official and one of the most important architects of his time. St. Matthew was inaugurated in 1846. Today, St. Matthew church is part of the so-called Kulturforum (Cultural Forum) that also houses the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery), The Berliner Philharmonie, the Kammermusiksaal (Chamber Music Hall), and several museums.

In 1931, Lutheran theologist Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was a member of the Bekennende Kirche (Confessing Church) and a resistance fighter against the Nazi regime (he was murdered at concentration camp Flossenbürg only one month before the end of World War II), was ordained as St. Matthew's parson. Later, the Nazis planned to take down St. Matthew and rebuild it in Spandau because it was in the way of their megalomaniac plans to remodel Berlin as the so-called "Welthauptstadt Germania" (World Capital Germania). As a part of those plans, most of the local residential development had been taken down already before WWII. Allied bombings in WWII's last years finally foiled those plans but also left St. Matthew heavily damaged. After the war, only the church building's exterior was reconstructed true to the original, while the interior was rebuilt in an unpretentious, modern way.

Happy Sliders Sunday, everyone, and I wish you a great new week ahead!

A rare glimpse of the sun today and while the clouds closed back in by the time of the actual sunset over Lake Michigan, for a while the sky seemed to say it will all be better tomorrow.

Please enjoy the promising light in Large. Thank you so much for your visit!

The Festival Of Ligths is over again! Oh, what a shame I would have liked to have photographed one or the other. A shame and that as a Berliner. I'll blame it on the non-existent time!

The Festival of Ligths! The theme this year was “creating tomorrow”

It is about topics like sustainability, future, science, humanity and diversity. Here you can see Potsdamer Platz.
