I had to make 48 paper flowers for Kip's shower. They weren't that difficult but I conned Emily and Heidi into helping me at various times. These are the paper castoffs from making petals. I actually think this garbage is quite pretty!
My aunt asked, "Can you make everything black and white except for the tissue boquet?" I said, "I can try." Well, I succeeded! :)
Color-photocopy on tracing paper over collage of black and white vintage ephemera. Approx 3 x 3 inches.
Went to Babies 'R Us with Basak. We both got some presents for Julynn and Erik's baby shower.
And, as an added bonus, the Benedettis are getting coupons, too.
We're going away tomorrow for our friend Mat's 30th birthday weekend, staying in a tipi in the New Forest. This here is an abstract view (and it must remain abstract in case he chances across my photostream!) of his goodie box of gifts... Back in a couple of days.
the science of Xmas Balls (i.e., cheap junk wrapped in layers and layers of tissue paper - it really was a lot of fun for kids of all ages).
White kraft bags were also left over from my wedding. Years ago I bought a huge thing of tissue paper, and the pack just so happened to have pink, yellow, and white with pink and yellow polka dots. Umm.. perfect! So of course we had to fashion all the gifts to match.
Unfinished work. The river which used to extend from the bottom right hand corner up the middle of the painting is well and truly history.
This photo features my second attempt using collage. This time the celtic knot was already coloured. I didn't order this one especially so it came with the iron on stuff on the back... (they are made for quilting by www.applicuts.com ) but when I started gluing it the iron on stuff came away. So I pulled that off and stuck it in the picture as well. As the stuff is milky it cannot be seen over the white (it's on the left hand side just above the word dublin).
No idea how the stuff will respond to paint but and medium but I guess I am going to find out!
Getting organized for when all those orders start pouring in!! Now I have all my shipping supplies in one place and easily accessible. I'm still pondering the best way to store things and am pretty sure I am going to get something to hang on the wall that will help with organization. I am sure in a few weeks (or months) I will have it organized just the way it will work best for me. It doesn't look like much, but having all this stuff in one centralized location is awesome. Of course I have more product boxes and envies, but those can be replenished from the storage closet when the supply is getting low.
Gosh I have lots of ribbon & I didn't even realize it until I started organizing my shipping stuff *smiles*
My cutting table is right next to the shipping center so that will be providing the actual workspace in which I will assemble the packages. No more walking across the room -- I just have to turn around and *voila* workspace!!!
Oh crud.......guess that means I have to clean off my cutting table *smiles*

After the body is ‘dressed’, the performer takes a mask from the wall and wears it, standing in the shadow of the ‘cloud’. The light blacks out.
Piece 2: From black-out, the light switches on for the second piece and starts from this image.
'Image in 4 pieces' performance by and with Sara Popowa

Switching it up and I have the back of the blue tissue paper showing. It has a little cat and some flowers and a heart on it holding it closed.
