This was an exercise in painting tissue paper and fabric, looking for subtleties in tone. Quite difficult as it was white tissue paper on cream fabric.
we had to make "grids" in art, which was basically just put whatever you want on a piece of paper and mine accidentally came out looking really emo.
the background is all tissue paper. the blue stripe was some sort of wrapping paper or something. the cloudthing is white yarn and a piece of a papertowel, and the vertical black things are black string, black thread, the edge of black paper from a spiral notebook and circles from a holepunch. everything is stuck together with acrylic glue or whatever that's called.
I made a brooch using an unwanted vintage tissue pattern and some decorations from a christmas cracker

This collage was made last year using an image from Sassy Art's shared photos..I used a faux bee's wax technique to cover it. A faux finish on the background and rubber stamps, vintage buttons, vintage papers and a cute hanger..

Schnookie's birthday isn't until later in vacation, but what's a better way to kick off a week away from work than with opening presents? I had wanted to get her a box set of CDs of John Zorn music but there wasn't one. So I figured, what the heck, why not make my own little box sets? I picked out a few CDs from some of her favorite artists and then packaged them each with their own canning-style label. I was particularly pleased when one of her other presents arrived with some extra tissue paper that perfectly matched the brown label I used. I was such a jerk, demanding that Schnookie hold off on unveiling what was in this Trevor Dunn Box Set until I had a chance to photograph my master gift styling. :D

Our cat got to open his Chrismast presents today. Next year, I'm just buying him a big pile of tissue paper--by far his favorite thing to get!

Space set-up/installation. Starting image.
A long black tissue rectangle hangs on the wall. A white 'cloud' of tissue paper is suspended from the ceiling, counterbalanced by a pair of scissors. The cloud hangs over a rectangle frame shape on the floor, made out of blank photo papers.

I whipped this up out of tissue paper - so much easier than making precise cuts from paper - just fold the tissue paper around your card like you are wrapping a package!

I caught a cold on my trip but had no problem keeping tissue paper within reach! :)
A simple wash over the paper you are going to work on - I used a spary wash but anything would do - painted, inked, stained etc.
