Heavily collaged background with tissue papers, acrylics, dressmaking painting, dictionary print and calligraphy, over which a face as been drawn in pen and acrylic.
My first try at a cupcake bouquet for a very dear friend of mine. I love this idea because you can do so much with it!
the sun shone on the pink poppy this afternoon... it made the background dark, but I like it...as Dick Emery would say....
I made using an inexpensive glass votive holder I bought at the craft store, some tissue paper, and decopage. I just kept layering the tissue paper on top of one another till I was happy with it. Cut out the butterfly from a different tissue paper and decopaged that on. Then after it all dried I went back and put another coat of decopage on it.
Paper Hot Air Balloon made by a friend and myself, members of Turma Citlalmina.
This is the second balloon I made and the first successfully launched. My first balloon caught fire during inflation.

For my kids the ideal summer would include a trip to the beach every day, so when I think of summer I think of making sandcastles, gathering shells and traisping through the rough grass in the sand dunes. I thought I’d cover two of this month’s themes (summertime and parties) with these treat containers and include bits and pieces that I associate with the beach . More details are on my blog stampingandstitching.blogspot.com/2011/07/bucket-and-pill....

Photo taken a day before the cellebration of the traditional paper balloon festival to commemorate Independence Day (Mexico's Independence Day)
Unfortunately the festival had to be cancelled/postponed this year due to bad weather :-(
Still, we could see balloons were launched from different points in town the previous days, like the two you can see here. Mostly small ones.

6 of each design. I guess you are meant to give it as a gift to your friends... I see the To and From bubbles there...
Fears of smog, after a particularly consumptive bean feast the night before, in the end proved unfounded and the Bedjing Olympics began as planned.
As a health and safety precaution Mr Fox, through some dextrous tissue work had hoped to bypass the lighting of the torch. Mrs PB had other ideas, and deciding it was probably safer to chance fire than her rolling pin, he stood aside, his fire extinguisher primed!
At least, with Mrs PB there, handling the protestors was a lot easier! It's all too easy to underestimate the power of the pin!
As they celebrated the start of the Land of the Bed Olympics, Mr Fox couldn't help think the party would have been altogether more exciting had the entire budget not been spent on beans!
Let the games commence!
the pot on the left was covered entirely with tissue paper. The two pots on the right were decorated with permanent markers, which bled/faded much less when wet then the paint I tried. The yellow I was especially surprised came out so brilliant when the peat pots were wet. The peat pots do tend to crumble a little when handled, which erodes the designs.
The designs on the two on the right were ones I found that were used in 1st century in mosaics. The flower design seemed to be very popular. It's in a circle...though the green circle around it it hard to see. I read somewhere it was an early symbol of the Christian church and also seemed to be popular in Synagogues and such previous to Christianity.
Mmmm, sitting in the sun with a nice cocktail...:):)

Instructions for the box can be found on this blog - Simply Notable. I first saw a demo on making the box from Artigal at a craft workshop, but she doesn't have these instructions on her blog. The soap is made from clear melt and pour soap bases, with lavender fragrance, lavender flowers and purple colouring.
Of all things I thought would be first to sell out and people would stock pile on, toilet paper was pretty low on the list. I haven't seen toilet paper on the store shelves in Calgary for a few weeks now, TP is going to be the new currency in the post apocalyptic world. You can't even eat toilet paper! But I guess it doesn't expire.
This cover is a mixed media collage featuring wooden people, stars and gears. I made the background from some of my images on PSE and a tissue paper collage. I like the steam punk distressed look.
