HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!

A bit late for Chinese New Year stuff! XD Found these recently, bought a pack earlier and used it without photographing it... Regretted a bit. Lucky the stocks are still around so here it is.. :D

While the adoption is not final yet, the love and the mother-son relationship already exist. Though I had received Mother's Day gifts before as an aunt to Joshua and his 3 brothers, it thrilled me this year to get my first-ever Mother's Day gifts as a mom. I set them up with some pink tissue paper as a backdrop then added decor and framing in both Irfanview and KVAD Photo Studio Pro. Sadly, the KVAD removes the EXIF data.

I was in awe of Cathey Love's Dragon Eye project when she posted it on Facebook, so we had to try it at McNeil. It's in the rotation now!

We drew dragon eyes, went over that drawing with Sharpies, added shaded colored pencil accents, and then the real fun happened - we used bleeding tissue squares to add color! I've never used bleeding tissues before, but I'm hooked. What a fun way to add color. For the last step, we added chalk pastel to the eye.

I really love how each eyes is as individual as the artist making it.

I joked that I was going to leave them there and introduce them as my family.

Some have asked what is a macro box or have wanted to see it. Well here she is. I cut out 3 sides of a 12x12x12 box and taped tissue paper to them. Cut the top and bottom flaps off. I can use the side flaps to keep in some of the light from the light on the side. I have this light from my Dragons cage. Eventually i will use a flash. (almost have enough money for that) If you want full directions for this go to

Here is the tissue collage we created this week, inspired of course by Eric Carle. You an see the tutorial on my blog:

I am in love with Washi Tapes that I get from the Tinted Mint. They dress up my packaging, but are environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and are relatively inexpensive for the way that I use them. These tapes come in a miriad of colors and patterns and several widths. They are re-positionable, even on my tissue paper!

These are the presents wrapped and ready to go for my niece-to-be's baby shower. The light is pink because of the burgundy curtains in the background. The purple package contains the Knitty Haiku sweater. The peach package contains the Knitty Miss Dashwood hat. The green package has two little baby booties on the front, and inside is a hat of my own design.

Another one of my loopy bows done in the business colours. The little hangers are soo awesome. I was given a list of products found in their store and hangers was on the list. I made up a little mock hanger and my DH said "why aren't you making more of those??" LOL So I made up a few more. I just love'em!!

Bandi's face cracks me up in this picture...... :-)

It's funny, but the white gel pen shows up really well in this photo but it's very subtle in reality!!! I used a Hero Arts rubber stamp for the tree background and really enjoyed collaging the papers together..

Scrunched up tissue paper with hand-drawn detail, and cut paper 'grass'.

I bought some Artist Bleeding Tissue Paper the other day at Michaels....loved the colors....and decided to see what happened if I collaged them. There was some bleeding but not so much. I attached and covered with Matt Medium, Liquid and then put Water Soluble Oil Pastels around the edges and hit the texture the paper made with yellow, turquoise and pink. I put a little shadow under some places with pencil and stump. It's hanging on the wall, may not be finished with it yet. But it's colorful....maybe this picture is a little contrasty and a bit more colorful than real life though. lol that's the way, uh huh, uh huh... I like it!!

Sold. Cut paper mounted on gessoed wood panel. www.ruralpearl.com. Prints available. See my profile for etsy shop link.

Again some photos just to keep myself busy. I thought of this while looking at the clips I bought for the last photo and some crepe paper that I had lying around. So coloured background and colourful subjects. As always comments welcomed and appreciated.

getting ready for this year's Black Cat Bazaar at Mim's Bakery in Chico, CA

It is COLD here in SC and I LOVE it! =) It's supposed to "warm up" by the end of the week though and be in the 50's. =( However, when it is in the 30's (high or low), it is fire time at our house! I got the idea this AM to build a fire and have Jack roast marshmallows for my bench pic...however, after thinking past the cuteness part of it, I realized that might not be too safe...me trying to take pics by myself of a three-year old boy in front of a fire. Not smart. SO...we made a "pretend fire" and he loved it! Jack LOVES to roast marshmallows but doesn't like to eat them. =/ So anyway, this was perfect because since it wasn't "hot", he could get close to it and could do it all by himself without me freaking out! =O

And now that my Bench Monday pic is uploaded, I think I will light a flame to that tissue paper and make a real fire! HBM everybody!!! =)

Совершенно случайно я увидела это фото , и там в описании есть ссылка на мой фотострим. Наверно, это ошибка, я раньше никогда не складывала этого лебедя. И мне очень захотелось сделать его! :)

I decorated the house with pink tissue paper pom poms {hand made of course} for my sister in law's wedding reception!

From the Saddleworth Official Guide of that year an advert for the specialist concern of Robert Fletcher who were major manufacturers of the fine papers and tissues such as those used in cigarette wrappings. The company, whose head office was in Kearsley near Manchester had apparently reconstructed the Greenfield Paper Mill in 1920. Information given elsewhere notes that the company was in fact owned by Imperial Tobacco.

The guide is for Saddleworth UDC that was a very western outpost of the old West Riding of Yorkshire and that indeed was moved into the new County of Greater Manchester in 1974 - as can be seen the postal address was given as 'near Oldham' in Lancashire.

A new design! This is a jelly fish folded from 40 cm square of unryu. I developed the base for this from my spider base, which also has 8 appendages.

Capturing the movement and grace of the jellyfish is hard but I attempted it with the tentacles. I designed this model with folding friendliness and diagramming in mind. I've developed a nice sequence and I'm going to diagram it in the next couple of weeks.

Let me know what you think! Any critique or suggestion is welcome. Oh and I was inspired by two great origami jellyfish. The two jellyfish designs are by Origami Chris and derekmcgann on flickr, take a look at them if you get a chance.

" Dancing Spring " was created for the Age of Elegance" Paperdoll Swap.. I used a more mature woman for her waking up persona, since " Spring' was a little tardy this year...

She's going to need a make-over( ha Ha) just like you and I when when we get up in the morning... It's amazing how a little lipstick and coffee can rejuvenate the female persona and make us bloom.(Hee Hee)

I love her green refreshing glow... I think ,"Dancing Spring" looks radiant and ready for the season.

The lovely lady image is from the Elle magazine... The main body is card stock rolled into a cone. The tissue paper was sewn and gathered around her and the vines were individually cut out and glued onto the form.

Embellishments included: jewels and glitter glue

I got some new shoes yesterday. I've never had Converse before but always wanted some. The regular Chucks don't fit me (too long and narrow) but I found these today at Urban Outfitters - the Jack Purcell Converse and they're the cat's meow. Obviously.

I saw the directions to make these great pom-pons on Martha Stewart's site, but my daughter is more of a dinosaur girl. No problem - I just used my stapler to change them from flowers into dinosaurs. They were a great inexpensive party decoration.

I made this background for my smash book out of tissue paper and alcohol inks

I've been having lots of fun at The Dal House forum in recent months. October is the Dal Project Runway challenge that Offgenemi/gochemoche is hosting.

This is for Challenge #1, where contestants are to create an outfit for Dal made out of paper, or paper-based materials. Use of adhesives like tape & glue is fine, as are sewing materials like needle and thread.

I felt like Tekka-Maki needed a fabulous paper accessory to go with her paper dress--and what could be more appropriate than a petite origami crane?

This is a card I’m submitting into Lisa’s Make-It + Mail it Challenge sideoatsandscribbles.wumple.com/2011/04/25/make-it-mail-i... and the Tissue Paper Magic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/04/next-moxie-fab-world-challe....
