Good thing I grilled early, because a little thunderstorm popped up out of nowhere, and it poured for a little while. Big fat drops of rain.. And as much as my attitude has changed about grilling, doing it in the rain still sucks!
My next house will have an outdoor kitchen that's rain-proof, and it'll be a whole new ball game. I want a lanai that's wide enough to stay dry under even in a driving rainstorm, because I do love to watch it rain - I just don't want to get wet while I watch. Or killed by lightning..
Used, in conjunction with a dial guage, to set ignition timing on motorcycles with points ignition, particularly two-strokes.
Possibly dates back to around 1969-70.

Or is it timing?
A slow shutter timed perfectly captures the traffic lights transition from red to green, creating the illusion that both lights were on simultaneously. As I keep pushing the boundaries of photography through my experimentations, I discover new perspectives everyday. If you ask me, go out and experiment.
Gary Kawabata flew a nice 5.5" bird on a J315R. Unfortunately, all you can see is the flame... my timing was just a little off here. Still, a neat shot!

This is a photograph from the finish of 28th Annual South O'Hanlon 5KM Road Race which was held at Seneschalstown GAA Grounds, Beauparc, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Wednesday 1st July 2015 at 20:00. The race is part of the Meath County Board series of races. South O'Hanlon are a well known running club in Meath and beyond and this road race is amongst the longest running road races in Meath and Leinster. The route starts in the beautiful Beauparc Station where the Navan-Drogheda industrial railway crossing is situated. A left handed loop course around Yellow Furze parish brings runners back to Beauparc and into the finish in Seneschalstown GAA. The first 2.5KM feature some small hills but then the final 2.5KM features down-hill sections and a very flat fast final KM. The race was ran in beautiful summer weather with a temperature of over 20C recorded at the start of the race. This meant perfect, if a little hot, conditions for the race with little or no breeze. After the race runners and families were able to enjoy the great spread of refreshments outside in the sunny summer evening. Over 200 people took part and the results by Precision Timing are available here [www.precisiontiming.net/result.aspx?v=2753]. Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!

The Le Cheile 'Leixlip 5KM' Road Race, Jog, and Fun Run was held in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday May 4th 2013 at 11:00. This was the biggest ever attendance at the race which finished the last 700 meters on the almost completed tartan track belonging to Le Cheile AC at the Leixlip Amenities center. This was a great race with a great atmosphere. The weather was reasonably good (except for a strong head wind). Good race times were reported by many participants. Congratulations to Tony Brennan and all of Le Cheile AC for their huge volunteer work that goes into making this race the growing success that it is.
The chip timing was provided by Red Tag Timing and the results should be available here [www.redtagtiming.com/results/LeCheile5km_2013.xls]
Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 400 people took part in both events with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: This was a wonderfully bright day with a strong headwind at the 1st and final KM of the race.
Course: The race starts on the road outside the amenities center. There is a signifcant climb up the motorway overpass at 1KM. The stretch from here to 4KM is reasonably flat. There is a final
long drag up to Louisia Bridge and the race finishes with almost 700M on the new athletics track built by the club.
Refreshments: The refreshments after the Le Cheile 5KM have now gained legendary status. Outstanding.
