This seagull appeared and I managed an image as it flew by the sea lions. It looks like it is pecking one in the eye while kicking the other one on the nose!

bad timing resulted in the DBPN train parked there taking off before I could snap a shot of it switching over from the P2 track (center) to the P1 track (right-side).

Making the bed just after waking up leaves your room clean nearly all of the time, but making it just before you get into bed leaves it messy most of the time.

Do you own a Mazda with the DISI turbo engine?

If you do when was the last time the timing chain was checked? Stretched timing chains are a common issue on these engines and are often overlooked.

This was the case with a Mazdaspeed Atenza that came for a routine service and a complaint of a funny noise on start up. An extremely worm timing chain was quickly diagnosed as the issue, and just in time before costly damage was done.

The chain, tensioner, guides and cam gear can be replaced on these cars for around the same cost as a cambelt, so its no where near as scary a job as people think, especially as STM has a Mazda DISI specific cam chain service tool!

PS If you would like to buy one of the service tools we can help.

This shot typifies the sort of tangle most hard-pressed Shepley batters got themselves into during the 97th All Rounder Cricket Equipment Sykes Cup Final at Far End Lane, Honley. Shepley were shot out for just 108 by Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership division rivals Delph & Dobcross, who then knocked off the runs with eight wickets and almost half their 50 overs to spare.

Delph & Dobcross's comprehensive win, in which North Light Physiotherapy man of the match Chris Laker scored 69 not out, added to the club's recent triumph in the league's T20 competition. With a healthy lead over title rivals Hoylandswaine and Shepley in the Premiership division, Delph & Dobcross are on course to complete a stunning clean sweep of Huddersfield League honours. This was their second Sykes Cup success. The first came in in 2012.

Match statistics: Shepley 108 off 45.1 overs (Daniel Anderson 48, Nathan Jones 4-23, Wasim Qasim 2-15, Shakir Muhammad 2-30) lost by eight wickets to Delph & Dobcross 112-2 off 26.4 overs (Chris Laker 69 not out, Shreevats Goswami 23 not out, Nasir Jamal 2-29). Delph & Dobcross won the toss and elected to bat. Admission: £3. Programme: six pages (w/a). Attendance: 550. Refreshments: mug of tea (50p).

Somewhere in that tight squeeze, standing on the up side on the bend on the left hand side, there's a Network Rail man inspecting the track and two trains to acknowledge at the same time.

Almost a couple of weeks ago, we had another Echinopsis bloom. Only this time, we had all three of our little ones bloom at once! Two of them had three blooms, the other had one, so in all we had seven flowers in one night!

This was also the day I had the new Nikon Coolpix A for shooting that day for a photo contest at work. This is the photo I submitted. That little camera is quite impressive, it's a fixed 18.5mm lens on a compact camera that has a full DX sensor! It's really quite amazing, still a bit expensive for what it is, but it's the first of what it is realistically. I had fun shooting with it and can definitely see the draw.

Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

Day 276 ~ Picture Perfect Timing

Sunday, October 2nd, 2016

While walking back to the car, I wanted to get a shot of the Faust Street Bridge and just how pretty it was. Perfect timing, a father was walking down the middle of the bridge hand-in-hand with his daughter. I thought with the strong sunshine and deep shadows, this image would be perfect in black and white.

Bad timing for the North American Handmade Bicycle Show website to go down. The NAHBS begins tomorrow in Richmond, VA.

I know of a couple of things that can cause a website suspension like this: DMCA takedown notice or bandwidth allocation was exceeded. Given the extreme interest this year in the Handmade Bicycle Show, I imagine the bandwidth allocation was exceeded.

my yashica microtec zoom 900 (90?) first experience back in... idk... 2010? this became my first experience in analog photography as well. i bought the camera online, a second hand, from jellyplayground (which back then only a photography blogger).

i didn't know where to go to develop my roll, so i went to the nearest lab. sadly they didn't do the scanning, the film got developed and then printed just like the old days.

this piece is the leftover i found in my hard disk. i happened to scan the photo i like the most (only this one) manually.

have to look for the film to discover the whole photos of my first roll.

a minute later it was gone.

For my Gear-head Friends , Living in El Paso , Texas With a Racing Friend at the Sport car racing parts store, He was wanting to purchase more horsepower, + more Air / More Fuel / more Money, to us related Cubic dollars !! well I asked when told the price, AND how much would that price be if ( TWO ) were purchased, Mmmmm well it was a great savings for both of US ! so the investment of buying power, went to the adjustable timing unit in the driving position along with the readout of Boost on display . Because ,,, El Paso is at average 4000 - ft altitude, and known for each thousand feet a Horsepower of % is lost , well my purchase was for a Chevrolet Big Block , towing an enclosed 24 foot trailer ! with a 3000 lb Race car. Now I did experience another High , when the 18 wheelers called out, what are you running in that tow rig. = Just a little Air Box, 7000 foot altitude, at 65 MPH up hill . The Smile still Here, but now the unit for Sale, and I'll Keep the Smile :-))) Continue : the One Ton truck was modified with a Gear Vendor 40% reduction unit, from 410 to the equivalent of 370, on top of which a 100 gallon storage tank for LP gas purchased in Mexico at 1.25 cent a gallon. raising the no trailer and Race car, = 16.2 MPG in street use. My Friend from San Antonio, Texas, John had me open the hood every time he saw me, with the biggest of Smiles available. Ah ! the story revealed !!!

This is a photograph from the 10th annual running of Liffey Valley Athletic Club's Annual Tom Brennan 5km Road Race and Fun Run which was held in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, Ireland on Thursday January 1st 2015 at 12:00. The race was attended by well over 500 runners who took on the challenge of the 2 loop course. Whilst the weather was very mild for this time of year there was a very strong wind on some parts of the course. Otherwise the course is flat and fast. There was a great atmosphere in the park with spectators and walkers out cheering on the runners despite the weather getting poorer with each passing minute. This race is the first race in the Lord Mayor of Dublin's “5 alive challenge”. The Liffey Valley Club and many other volunteers work hard to make this a very successful event. It provides a splendid opening of the New Year for runners of all abilities.

You can share to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.

This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download the photographic image here direct to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. However - look for a symbol with three dots 'ooo' or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting does take a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Creative Commons aims to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

A bungee jump in Glasgow's George Square on Sunday 20th Sept. A chance moment of incredible timing brought a departing plane into the path of the jump while I was there.

Knowing that a CN eastbound was approaching we nearly had a perfect meet shot with SOR 597, who was pulling out of the South Service Track at Paris in a rare daytime move. Unfortunately the SOR move started a few seconds earlier that I would have liked, so I didn't get the meet shot I was hoping for, but I still was able to catch one of IC's repainted SD70's in the lead. The SOR conductor is about to restore the derail behind his train.

L’US Saint-Malo, l’AS Jacques-Cartier et l’US Château Malo seront de la partie.

This is a photograph from the annual Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games 5KM and 10 Mile road races, fun runs, walks and challenges which were held in the heritage village of Ardagh, Co. Longford, Ireland on Saturday 30th December 2017 at 13:00. This year's race featured the change from last year's race where the race seen the introduction of chip timing, a new start and finish in the middle of the village at the community center and, a slightly amended route.

We have an extensive set of photographs from the race start and the finish on our Flickr photostream set at www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157688852560892

The 10 mile race takes in the local 'Ardagh Mountain' which is a 1 mile continuous climb starting at the 2.5 mile mark of the 10 mile race. There is, of course, then the reward of a long down-hill stretch after the summit. The remainder of the race is The 5KM race takes a loop around the heritage village of Ardagh. Overall this is a very well organised race with accurate courses, good marshalling and traffic control and excellent after race refreshments. The 10 mile race is one of the longest road races held during the Christmas period anywhere in Ireland and has appeal to runners who want to add a longer distance race to their festive calendar of running.

The weather at this year's race was very cold and windy. The rain managed to stay away but a very cold northerly breeze certainly made conditions cold. Whatever wind advantage there was for the runners was not experienced until the second half of the race. In 2014 there was very frosty icy weather and last year in 2015 participants were given a very very windy day with heavy rain at the finish of both races. The 2016 event seen very suitable weather for road racing.

Ardagh is probably County Longford's most picturesque village with many historical and architecturally important features. It is located about 6 miles from Longford town.

If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing.
