Three Gossips is a mid-sized sandstone tower (about 350 feet at its tallest wall) sitting atop a roundish pedestal within the Courthouse Towers "cluster" that also includes The Argon Tower, The Organ, Tower Of Babel, Sheep Rock, and The Lamb. The name no doubt comes from a slight resemblance of the formation to three heads "gossiping" to each other.
The tower has three flat and distinct summits: North, Middle, and South - all of approximately the same height. The North summit (probably the largest) is split by a wide chimney - a small jump gets you from one half of it to the other. Several published routes access the North and South summits (see Routes Overview section below); no routes are currently listed in published guidebooks for the Middle summit (but I thought that rap slings might have been visible on it).
Summit elevation of 4800 feet is a rough estimate based on information on a Topozone map.
DON’T SPOIL THE SOIL!
Much of the SE Utah desert including the Arches National Park is home to Cryptobiotic Soil Crust. Watch where you step as this stuff is extremely sensitive and this “stuff” is also what’s keeping erosion at bay on hillsides. The NPS recommends using established trails, sandstone slabs, and/or sandy washes for your foot travel throughout the park. While on the topic, don’t soil the soil either! Don’t be a filthy animal and pack out your solid waste!
This week’s photo challenge was THREE. I made some different photos and I like the one of the little swans near my house best! The 2 adult swans had 6 small swans, so it took a while (and a few days) to get the right picture, with only 3 little swans on it. In black and white it worked best.

Today was a beautiful, mild winter day. First signs of spring were visible as you can see: this snowdrop was one of many in a forest near our house. The illuminated bokeh in the background is from a birch tree with still most of its (brown) leaves hanging at it. So, this picture is taken in winter (februari), first blossom as a sign of spring and in the background still some old leaves giving a beautiful golden bokeh representing autumn. A bit far out to sea for a decent shot but I decided to share this anyway as it is such an interesting boat. It is the Eendracht seen off the Norfolk coast in full sail.
I saw those three trees on the flank of a hill back in January in Damüls on an evening walk. They stand in a triangle on this empty slope in the shadow, while the clouds in the background are hit by the light of the setting sun.

nature rewards him by giving him inspiration.”

Beautiful evening light and goldeneye females enjoy peace and quiet. And only one photographer with the quiet camera, so it is not too bad 😄

I was shooting the Three Sisters formation in Goblin Valley State Park in Utah in the late afternoon when up walked a herd of pronghorn antelope. It was pretty cool as the pronghorn usually run away when they see me and my camera.
Three Grackles: I decided to spend a good amount of time today shooting Boat-tailed Grackles. They are oft admired but generally don't get the attention that their showier wetland neighbors get. I decided to pick my three favorites of the day and make a triple frame.
This is one of the photos I took for the theme 'Fill the frame' of the 'This may not be Old San Juan but ...' group. I originally chose another photo for the theme as the my sheep don't fill the frame completely but now I have decided to post this one too. The sheep are too cute to be ignored. :)

The Three Sister formation is the most iconic formation in Goblin Valley. With the color and magic of the Milky Way the Three Sisters become an epic South West landscape
