Rise up this mornin',

Smiled with the risin' sun,

Three little birds

sittin' by my doorstep

Singin' sweet songs

Of melodies pure and true,

Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!

Every little thing is gonna be all right. Don't worry!"

Singin': "Don't worry about a thing" - I won't worry!

"'Cause every little thing is gonna be all right."

A couple of days late due to a wee bit much of the festive fare. All the leaves are gone now and a pretty dull day. Only one more to go in the series but the slideshow looks quite nice already.

Far from the maddening crowds, except for those 3 who had been following me all day...

No photographer or location. Circa 1900.

these three morons: Craig Milas Ryan, Margo Tidwell Crawford and Danton Hardman-- sold alcohol to high school students resulting in the deaths of Kelli Laine Lewis, Tommy Byington & Timothy Jason Dye. in SC you cant sell meth out of your private home, but if it's a drug the state makes money off of then it's all good right & the state looks the other way. I wouldnt expect anything less from the one state in the nation whose Highway patrol doesnt even carry a field breathalyzer!!!

In Lake Ndutu we got to see the famous Three Cheetah Brothers. These brothers have been the stars of various Wildlife Documentaries.

The brothers had earlier brought down an adult Wildebeest and had eaten a good portion of it.

Cheetahs are known to favour Thompson Gazelle's and Impala's as their staple diet. In most cases they lead a solitary life, rarely do you get to see more than two siblings growing up together into their adulthood. But this deadly combination of three adult brothers are capable of bringing down prey which is more than double their own size.

I tried to show you all a before and after of myself before Gary accidentally (if not purposely) cut the "hawk" off by mistake but my head is too big for the alloted mosaic on flcikr's big huge labs lmao .. so this is the end result of my haircut today .. WHAT'S UP: BUZZ-BOMBERS OF LONG BEACH

GANGWAY! In the late 1960s, there were two possible scenarios we foresaw regarding what we would be driving in the 21st century: rocket space-cars like the Jetsons drove, or autoettes like the old people drove. We would've been filled with despair if we'd been told that when the 21st century started, there'd be nothing like a space-car in General Motors' pipeline, and that the autoette would, long before we reached the age of AARP, be driven from the streets, or more properly, the sidewalks of our town.

Autoette was a trade name turned generic term for the little three-wheeled electric carts that once seemingly outnumbered pedestrians on the streets of downtown Long Beach.

The vehicles were apparently handed out to the town's more seasoned citizens once they reached the age of driving incompetency, whereupon they would take to the sidewalks on significant numbers and drive up the heels and over the backs of whippersnappers who didn't have the god-given sense to steer clear of a determined errand runner behind the wheels of one of these “buzz-bombs”.

And “behind the wheel” is a misnomer. The carts were steered by means of a stick with a handle on it. The things were a snap to drive, and the oldsters helming these little things terrorized the sidewalks of Pine, Long Beach Boulevard, Ocean and other downtown streets for a couple of decades.

…..

In 1964 police estimated there were were 3,000 electric cars zipping around Long Beach, but it seemed there were more, …

The city was more than accommodating to the fleet of Autoettes, carving cut-outs into the curbs or building sidewalks at street level at intersections so drivers wouldn't have to slow down, …

In 1964, pedestrians were given the right-of-way over electric cars.

Although the carts, by 1965 had become classified as motor vehicles and therefore illegal to operate on sidewalks, the law was scantily enforced.

In 1966, an 80 year old woman plowed her Autoette into a ladder holding a neon sign installer who fell 14 feet to his death. The law was then enforced.

This three-legged white-tailed deer was photographed at a trail camera site on July 26, 2016. The landscape within CREW is a blend of marshes, pinelands, oak hammocks and cypress swamps. Bobcats, black bears, hogs, deer, birds and many other wildlife call this place home, and Tom’s hobby has allowed him to learn how Florida wildlife lives within this unique environment.
