A three day gala was organised by the 6880 Betton Grange Society in April 2007 to raise awareness of the project to build the 81st Grange Class locomotive. The locomotive is now under construction and new members are encouraged to join and support the project financially, or with practical help. There are many incentives for people willing to contribute.
Eleven steam locomotives were scheduled to haul an intensive train service on the Llangollen Railway, with three passenger sets, a freight train and two auto trains.
Locomotives present were:
EX G.w. types No's 1450, 6430, 5199, 7802, 9466, 5224, 4160, 3802, 5643, plus BR Standard 78019 and BB Pacific 34081
There was a Beer Festival and model steam from 5" to 10 1/4" gauge plus trade stands and driver experience opportunities.

The three major Allies WWII: the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union often met during times of war to discuss strategy and determine how the world would be organized at the end of the war. This photograph is of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, American President Harry S. Truman, and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin in Potsdam, Germany in July of 1945.
The three leaders all met in Potsdam towards the end of the war to discuss the unconditional surrender of the Japanese. “At this meeting, Truman hinted to Stalin that the United States now had a new weapon of incredible explosive force, but he never identified the atomic bomb by name” (Gladdis). Remarks such as this put tension on these nations to continue working together until the war was over.
The Cold War developed out of international tensions that had to be suppressed during World War II. The three major allies all had their own national priorities and objectives, however, put them temporarily aside. This was imperative in order to defeat the Axis powers: Germany, Italy, and Japan. It was apparent, especially by the war’s end, more friction was arising between the relationships of the British, Americans, and Soviets.

No tripod so I held the camera against a pillar for a fifteen second exposure at f5.6.
I had just collected the camera from Camserve after a CLA. This was the first picture I took.
Agfa Record III 6x9. Foma 100 developed in Rodinal 1+50.
Toned in PS.
Had to straighten and crop the negative because I could not tilt the pillar to get the camera straight but that is the nice thing about a 6x9 neg, it is still big even after a bit of cropping :)

Liana stands in my favorite spot in Rome and, therefore, probably my favorite spot in the world. Here, you see three great ages of the city and the Italian peninsula all at once - the monument in the upper left is from “present-day” Italy of the past two centuries; the church on the upper right is from Medieval Italy of ten centuries ago; and the ruins in the lower center are from Imperial Italy of eighteen centuries ago.
