A fine cord of cotton or other fibrous material is spun out to a considerable length, especially when it is composed of two or more fibers twisted together.

Thread sketched flowers.

This is a table topper that I crocheted from a freebie Coats pattern using DMC Traditions thread. I'm quite pleased in how it turned out even if I'm not pleased with how the pattern was written.

Sundews (Drosera)

Sundew family (Droseraceae)

There are several species of Drosera, some are rare. They like to grow in sunny, damp places.

Dew thread (or Tracy’s) sundew

(Drosera tracyi)

The distinctive leaves of this plant are tall, slender, and have transparent hairs covered with a sticky fluid to catch small insects. The pink flowers are very beautiful and begin blooming at the bottom of the uncoiling raceme (an unbranched flower cluster).

Really old spools of DMC thread that once belonged to my great-grandmother

Tie the cord to a safety pin and thread it through the channel you made all the way around the perimeter of the cover.

Then smooth your cover over the board and pull tight!

This variegated embroidery floss is a subtle mix of dusk pink, yellow, green-blue, and purple - ThreadworX 1078 Pastel Bouquet. Desert sunsets come to mind when I look at this gorgeous thread. This photo shows how two strands of this floss look stitched on 14 count Aida.

In the northern part of the city of Kolkata one can see many such small factories which are equipped with loads of machineries that create sheets of cotton from the yarn of white cotton thread. Once the sheet is made it is sent to the various clothing industries to be made into the desired product.

"He introduced me to the machineries they possessed. If I counted it right I think there were around 10 of them all singing the synchronous cog music. He showed me around the place with a pride on his face."

This is a little emery pincushion I made to resemble a teabag. The tag says 'Time for Tea" the little clay rose is a needle threader made from polymer clay. I need to make more of these!

A single thread may be weak, but, when it is wound 108 times around the trunk, it becomes strong. It is no longer so fragile and no longer easy to break.

We had a lovely swap in TorC. Vintage weird is the general theme that

everyone gets into. Wendy is sporting some authentic ridiculous threads.

Yesterday I started working through my stash of (in some cases quite tangled) embroidery thread, winding it all onto neat little bobbins.

It's taking a while but it will be SO worth it :)

This is my first Drawn Thread piece, and will certainly not be my last. I LOVED every minute of this, and was sad when I finished. I'm now a TDT addict, and have *cough* 10 more of their projects kitted up. :) This was stitched with the recommended NPI silks (1 over 2) on Antique Ivory Belfast linen.
