Here's a closeup of the fox and keychain on the bag.
After I finished embroidering the fox (and coloring it with crayons and ironing it), I trimmed off the extra fabric and sewed it into a rectangle. Then I went over about half of those stitches to sew it onto the front flap of my new messenger bag. That was extra work to double sew it, but I didn't feel comfortable sewing it into a rectangle the same time I put it on the bag- the bag is really thick fabric, so I only really sewed over every other or every 3rd stitch. Had I not sewn it the first time, this would have been a pain to get flat.
Next to it is this keychain I made recently, but I think I'm actually going to switch that one with this one because the cleric keychain matches the fox in color and in theme (I'm into foxes because of my D&D character).
I got this fox design from Urban Threads. I was so happy that there was a fox with a leaf! Foxes and leaves are like my two favorite things. :D This was my very very first embroidery project. And the fabric is flat on the bag- the bottom just looks uneven in the picture.

We needed some ubolts to mount the PV wire concentrator box with. We
of course would not find a ubolt suitable for this in my small town.
Instead we purchased two long all thread bolts and smoke made use of a
old propane forge to heat and bend them with.
By opening a new RAD pack from Sara, I saw a plastic ring...I was tempted to use it as it was because I liked to soft green color.... But then I decided to wrap it with cotton thread.

Do you recognise this doily? I copied it from one I found in a charity shop. I'd like to post the pattern on my blog but first I want to check that it isn't already readily available. TIA!
I save every thread unless its too short to embroider with.......Now I use the pieces as fillers, using all the color shades as one, ie., all shades of yellow as one yellow--that way I get a random variegation which I like. In Gabby's piece that is how I did it......
This process takes awhile, but it isn't too bad. I am threading up the new warp of Yarn Pirate and Koigu. Planning to use another sock yarn for the weft. This is going to be a colorful weave!
