Non avrei mai pensato di trovare qualcuno così simile a me da sentire un suo ritratto un mio self. ti giuro forse è per questo che do il 100% nelle foto che ti faccio, forse è davvero per questo.

Due to the fact that the wind comes almost from West, the waves become the same direction, from W to E, and wash the sand away
To stop/make less this washout effect, to break the stronght of the waves - that's the reason of this pillars. In the northern part of Zeeland there are beaches , many km long, and there are this pillars, always two lines together, repeating so about 500m. Depending from tide/low tide you can see 2,0m or nothing from them.
Those famous words, uttered by Dr. Strange in Marvel's Avengers Infinity War, have now become true for the big blue western railroad. Today, the railroad officially filed its intent to terminate its lease with the Surface Transportation Board. We are now down to the final months of the railroad. Need to make it a great final stand.

barred owl. this guy flew right out this am and landed in a tree about 10 yards from me. sometimes you go to nature and sometimes it comes to you.
For those who follow me you know I love the purity and colors of glacial waters. Most rivers are brown, gray or blue. But rivers fed by glaciers are a wonderful mix of blue and green. They really stand out. And where they flow the ecosystems are spectacular and dynamic, from peaks to rivers/lakes and waterfalls. And wildlife seem to like it there as well.
So hard to pick a favorite place for these special waters, what with Banff's Lake Moraine and Louise, Yoho's Emerald Lake, Jasper's Maligne Lake and other's nearby standing out. Those are my top-spots as you've probably noticed.
Another top favorite tho is Glacier's McDonald Creek, shown here. This shallow pool caught my eye. Shot taken in the fall when flow was low, not cluttered with spring's runoff. I use a polarizer to cut the glare but other than that this is pretty true to what you'll see.
Glacier Park is also amazing for the impressive varied colors of it's rocks, of many hues and tones.
Isn't nature grand?!
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
So, those of you who know me, know that I often wander off in the woods and hills for hours on end camera in hand. Unfortunately on this occasion I made every mistake imaginable, wrong kit, kit missing, wrong settings and rushing to catch the light.
At first glance, you may think I’m crazy. The image looks decent enough right? Look closer and I’ll list everything that went wrong with this excursion.
1 - Wrong lens. I have been working with one focal length lately as an exercise to improve composition. This scene would have been so much better on a wide angle, but I only had a 40mm Macro lens with me.
2 – No tripod. I decided to pack light one camera, one lens, no tripod. I normally take a full bags worth of kit on a hike
3 – I shot in Jpg instead of Raw. The previous night I had decided to check the shutter count on my Nikon D7200. For some reason this only works 9only ways I have found to do this) is to upload a jpg to an online service that can then tell you. Foolishly I forgot to change back to Raw before I went out the next day!
4 - Rushing the shot. As it was getting on in the afternoon, the sun was dropping really quickly. I was already on my way out of the woods when i spotted the scene. With the combination of falling light and wrong lens, I rushed to get an image as quickly as I could
While there’s nothing wrong with shooting in jpg format. It really doesn’t leave a lot of editing doors open for a final image. Especially when shooting directly into the sun in a scene like this one. So, I decided to publish this as to always remind me to check and double check everything in the future.
I'e decided I will be writing a blog post to go into more detail about my "faux pas" later this week
'And so lying underneath those stormy skies
She'd say, "oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I know the sun must set to rise"
This could be para-para-paradise'
Well, those who follow me on Facebook already saw my post of this location here. It was a selfie made at sunrise with my buddy Olaf and Nadia. We were here on Sunday before last and it was such an enchanting place! Both Olaf and me we were ready to hike some time through forests or mountain slopes. But nothing of this happened. I must confess, I was never in my life so quick at such a beautiful waterfall without walking. We parked the car on the roadside in a forest, went down about 80 steps of a stairs … down a ravine … and voila … we were at the location! What … so quick? I couldn’t believe that such a place was so easy accessible! Well, more time for the preparation before sunrise he he he. And I must repeat … it’s always such a great experience and great fun to shoot with friends.
After some time Olaf and Nadia began to make some portrait shootings and I took the chance to explore more the grotto from the inside! And thanks to the light of the sunrise and the wonderful green tones of the water the grotto began to shimmer in yellow and green tones in a subtle way. It was like in an Emerald Cave! This was the perfect moment for me to make this shot here. I hope you like it!

Spent couple of hours one weekend at nearby animal shelter with these beautiful sentient beings who'd end up in a slaughterhouse if it wasn't for a young lady and her mother who decided to save the lives instead of have them on their plate.

Rose Grove MPD was one of the last three sheds to host steam power in the UK along with Carnforth and Lostock Hall. It ceased operations on 4th August 1968. Shortly after closure the depot was demolished and a motorway now runs through the site.
Let me lick you up & down
Til you say stop
Let me play with your body baby
Make you real hot
Let me do all the things you want me to do 'Cause tonight baby, I wanna get freaky with you
Baby don't you understand
I wanna be your nasty man
I wanna make your body scream
Then you will know just what I mean
Yes, those stairs so beloved by photographers (me included), but from a different angle.
A French curve is a template used in manual drafting to draw smooth curves of varying radii and it was the curve from the upper to lower floor which so appealed to me.

For those of us crammed into the "little boxes on the hillside," a life in the great outdoors is less a dream and more a retirement plan that never quite materializes. So, while we're stuck in our "ticky-tacky" conformity, this Barn in the photo is clearly living its best, most adventurous life—and its story is certainly a tale worth telling.
Thomas Moulton first homesteaded this property in 1908 as a bachelor. He came over Teton Pass with his brother and a neighbor from Teton Basin, Idaho. The Moultons had moved to Idaho from Utah several decades before.
For the first few winters Moulton continued to return to the family holdings in Idaho. By 1912 though he had married and he brought his new wife, Lucille, over the pass to permanently settle in the Jackson Hole valley.
What remains from his homestead is only a barn, but the barn has created a legacy beyond anything Moulton or his children could have imagined. Billed as the “most photographed barn in America,” this structure had humble beginnings.
Moulton began construction on the central portion in 1913 in order to give his hard-working horses some shelter. The original barn had a flat roof, but it provided a necessary service for the Moulton family. In 1928 the hayloft and steeply pitched gable roof was added. By 1938 and 1939 two shed roofed lean-tos were added to the structure. First the north section for the horses, then the south section for the pigs. The continued addition of separate parts to make the whole gives the barn a unique, but unintentional character that is recognized nationally. Preservation efforts have been undertaken by both the Moulton family and the Grand Teton National Park to ensure that this barn continues to illustrate the trials and successes of homesteading in Jackson Hole.
